isnt this thread more of an expired thread than ongoing bargain? I thought it would be in It's Gone, but was it any good?

Ok, phew! I thought you may have meant it was rubbish as far as tablets go. Hubby will only want to watch movies, browse the web and probably play games on it. The kind of thing you would be able to do on a netbook.Comping wishlist for 2017

Hi
Would like to add my tuppence worth. I managed to get a 16G from Comet, (reserved in store, arrived next day), all very good service.
Is it any good? Yes, but takes a little getting used to & is not really a replacement for a laptop. The apps available are super limited, and really show this machine was very badly supported from the first.
Would I have paid nearly £400, absolutely no way; it's really not that good. They represented (to me at least) good value at under £100, but perhaps not quite the total bargain people think they were. Problems could be just round the corner if the software gets buggy or lacks updates.
If you just want to surf on the sofa, they are great. But most people would be better of with a lowish spec laptop....It will will do a great deal more & a great deal faster.0 -
Please see my earlier post it won't be long before these are running Android then you'll pretty much have whatever apps you like0

I dont think it was ever in stock at John Lewis this morning as I've been hitting the F5 key since about 10.30 am. I'd checked JL site and noticed that they had put the HP Touchpad back onto their site showing Out Of Stock having withdrawn it on Saturday (I didn't manage to get one then either) however wondered if they were about to put more stock on line or had it been in stock before 10.30 am then sold out? As you checked for stock after 11 am dont beat yourself up about just missing out, there wasn't any there when I started looking at 10.30 am0
