    Aw bless. :(

Never mind, time for a new one. :D

I'm afraid to say I don't recommend the LG one I've just bought. Or the tumble dryer. :(

Far, far too sensitive and far, far too noisy. :(

OK....that helps. It was on my shortlist.

Oh hellish, hellish things. My fridge need replacing too....and I'm wondering if without heating I need one before spring...washing machine is FAR more important here.

TD doesn't bother me at all...but a good washing machine is one of the lynchpins of my home!

aj, are you sure the washing machine isn't picking up 'the vibes' in the house? How can you have a 'sensitive' washing machine? :rotfl:

Bigger spin speed, keeps drying costs down ( we got rid of our drier, but there are only 3 of us)

Take the duvet to the launderette to get it washed and dried.

It flounced in wearing pink, so I was just assuming......:rotfl:

It's taken 3 days to find a level it likes. Forget using a spirit level, absolutely spot on makes no difference. We needed to tweak each leg a fraction individually many many times before it found a level it was happy with. It wasn't at all happy on the wooden floor, it's now sitting on a piece of thick worktop with the rubber leg cap things that LG recommend for wooden floors and it's still not great, just acceptable.

Each load is problematic. It doesn't like small loads (it will bang during a spin), it doesn't like big towel only loads (it will bang during a spin), if you put in a medium sized mixed load it is happy as heck and does the job it was supposed to do.

When it works happily, it works well. I would go so far as to say the cleaning is superior to my Bosch and the dryness after a 1400 spin is comparable to my 1600 spin Bosch. It's just too flaky and choosy about it's loads and levels for my liking.

The tumble dryer is actually good apart from one thing. The side panel vibrates as if something is knocking against it. It only takes the lightest touch to stop it but clearly I can't be standing there all day keeping it company with my hand on it. :D

It dries better than my Siemens did. The Siemens sensor was never very good and always stopped before the clothes were dry, this LG one is very accurate and the clothes don't end up in a tight ball the way they did with my Siemens either. If it would just stop vibrating I'd be happy with it. (It's on a concrete floor and is perfectly level.)

I've sacrificed load size and gone with the 7kg miele with a ten year guarantee. NOBODY tell me anything bad about it....PLEASE. (we're getting another machine too)

Oh, not nice you're having problems, aliasojo. :( I feel bad for raving about mine. :o Our floor actually bounces when I walk across the kitchen and I can count the times on one hand that i've had an uneven load. I've never had a banging noise either and I often do big loads of just towels. Did you go for the 11kg model? Stupid question, but have all the transit bolts been removed? When we first got ours we thought it was broken because it was so quiet. Are you sure you haven't got a lemon?

Don't be daft, rave away. Git. :D

    Yip 11k steam job.

Don't think it's a lemon particularly because the LG website mentions all the things we've experienced and say it's all to do with the loads.

I was going to ask if you were putting heavy items, such as jeans, in with delicates as that might cause an unbalanced load (but I do mixed loads all the time and it's fine) and you mentioned you do just towels and get the unbalanced thing with that so i'm stumped. What settings are you using most? I use the 'mix' one with the steam a lot. For sheets I do the cotton one at 60. Usually for towels I use the intensive 60, but I do vary sometimes.

I hope it's just teething problems and you find out what works best for you.
