Hi, my OH and I are thinking of trying Slimming World, but can't afford to pay the monthly fee to join it. Is there anywhere online I can find the lists of which are free foods etc? Are all of you paying members?£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

It must be really difficult for those of you who work in schools and have the big hols off.....it must throw you totally out of your routine as far as SW goes ?
I've found it hard getting into a routine just being away from here through the week for the past 2 weeks!
At least now you are back to work things seem to have 'moved' in the right direction for you on the scales again hun;) :A x x

Not all of us are members, i'm not. Is there is a group near you the best thing to do is go just once and get the books you need. You dont need to go back. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
In reply to Hannah... save your cash Hannah, and go and have a look at The Zoe Harcombe site - both forum, and also you tube. This will direct you to your final diet. Its based on REAL FOODS, that are straight from nature, ie, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, dairy, veg, instead of straight from nature VIA THE FOOD MANUFACTURERS who drop in various things that we dont need, in additives, trans fats, sugar, salt, fillers, gums, sucrose, dextrose, anything with 'oes' ( sugar !)
We are fat, as a nation, because in the last 50 years or so, food manufacturers are getting the upper hand in trying to tell us that their foods are healthy, nourishing. and good for us, and also will make us slim.. not true.
We didn't have obesity like today, those years ago.. For 3,5000.000 years man has eaten food as nature intended, and man has only been obese since the changed information that the government are accepting from the manufacturers ( the blind leading the bllind)
Ditch Slimming World.. you'll only put it all back on again. Ditch Weight Watchers, sponsored by food manufacturers, churning out rubbish processed crap..

Hannah, as g&b said - the best thing to do if you can is to pop along to a local SW group and just attend 1 class to ge the initial talk & all the books ( you don't ever have to go back then if you don't want to) but at least you will come away with a clear understanding of how it works & some basic food listings to get you started.
Also if you look at the 1st page of this thread - Consultant has put together the basics of the 'food plan' and what you need to do to get going. You can come on here & post your daily menus and ask as many questions as you need to (there are quite a few of us who are members, either of a class or online, so can help with syn values etc)
Hope this helps a bit0 -
HELLO - I'm rubbish at the moment. I can't seem to stick to it and put another 2lb on this week. I feel a terrible fraud cos I help with the weigh in at our group and everyone says how helpful I am to them. Any advice or any very long legs with boots on the end for a mighty kick up the rear?
Well done all you losers. x0 -

I only have short little legs with fluffy slippers on the end for bum kicking duties today - so you will have to have this insteadHave a big Dizzy hug from me & get your books out and go 'back to basics' with the plan this week.
I think we all have those times when we just can't seem to get our head around it.....and simply lose our way (Been there got numerous T shirts):o BUT you know you can do it Hun:A x x
