Sometimes it just goes like that copper jar.
You do need to have some syns, but they dont have to be chocolate, what about a bit of extra cheese on a salad or olive oil instead of frylite. Dont give up honestly.
In my experience of calorie counting they can be a joyless experience. If you really fancy it you can count the calories in a SW day and you may find you are way under.
If you always have 2x HEBs on a EE day, then of course your losses wont be that great. Why dont you just syn the extra HEBs then you may find you have enoguh syns or even too many....
Also muscle weighs more than fat so if you are at the gym then....
A loss is a loss is a loss and its better than going the other way is it not:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'm sorry to always come on here on a Monday morning (my weigh in day) and have a moan but I'm really losing faith with SW and think I might need to quit and try something new. Last week I was SO good. Literally had no naughty days at all, went to the gym and worked HARD 3 times and I've lost 0.2lb
The only thing I could possibly be doing wrong is not having enough syns, but it seems crazy to me to have some chocolate or something just to get my 10 syns in. It's just so disheartening.
The first 2 weeks I lost 5lb, since then I've lost just 3lb in 4 weeks. And I've been exercising. I have a lot to lose as well. Does anyone have any advice or might it just be that SW isn't for me any more? The only other thing I don't do by the book as it were is always have 2 HEBs
Maybe I need to just do a calorie counting diet?
Please dont get disheartened! Do you post your food diary up here? Cant remember if ive seen you do it.
Do you keep a food diary? With EVERYTHING that passes your lips getting written down right away!
Syns dont have to be chocolate, i regularly syn a little extra cheese/milk/oil etc plus little syns like pickle/ketchup can help your total. Dont feel you have to use them on total junk.
If you dont have your 2 B choices you may not be getting enough fibre. Are you eating enough superfrees?

Do you mean:
a) you don't always have 2 HEbs when you should (ie you are on green/red plan and so are eating less than you should) OR
b) you do always have 2 HEbs when you shouldn't (on EE plan) and so are eating more than you should.
If it's option a then in combination with few syns I think you should start eating more. Syns don't have to be unhealthy crisps type syns... olives, full fat yoghurts, olive oil etc all count.
If its option b then you are in effect having 6 syns per day more than you are counting, which might take you over the recommended 10?0 -
Morning all
B: weetabix (HEb) and milk (HEa), nectarine, 2 satsumas
L: cous cous (0.5) with cucumber, toms, radishes, chicken kiev (11) with veggies

Thanks for the replies. I'm on my phone typing this so can't multi quote (and apologies for typos!)
Re the HEBs. I mean that I usually just have one a day (cereal) and I follow red and green (I daren't do orange if red and green don't even work!) so I'm not having enough. I guess I could just double my bowl of cereal?
Re syns. I tend to have 3 a day in coleslaw (always take salad for lunch!) and maybe 1-2 extra milk. But that's it. Maybe I need to up thata bit?
I hate calorie counting, that's why I love this diet, but maybe I'm not eating enough? Even though I'm never hungry, it's all salad and fruit and either pasta or some meat. I know you can eat too few calories if you're not careful, maybe that's my problem? But still....

Yep if you post your meals everyday then someone will soon be able to suggest improvements.
From what you have said so far it might be that you just need to mix things up a bit. Salad for lunch every day? That sounds a bit dull! Remember its a plan for life, not a quick fix, you should be able to have a full variety of meals and still lose weight.0 -

This might sound odd but are you eating enough?
I found that when I don't eat a great deal my weight loss stalls or slows right down. Yet when I follow the plan and eat about 5 or 6 times a day I loose more. So I would have Breakfast, maybe an apple mid morning or nothing, lunch, ryvita and cottage cheese mid afternoon, then dinner and a bowl of fruit and yoghurt in the evening.
Try to post your meal plan each day and someone will offer suggestions."People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -
Don't give up copperjar, it will work if you stick with it. My take is that exercise can sometimes slow weightloss to begin with. It's frequently happened to people in my group, something to do with building muscle? And findingmyownway has a good point. Our consultant always says you need variety in your meals, range of SFs etc I've lost all my lbs doing EE so don't be afraid to try that plan.
:T on your 2.5lbs guns. It feels great to have a substantial loss. Almost all my losses were small ones but strangely the few large ones were after a gain or STS. (another point to consider copperjar). It meant I never got to be SOTW:rotfl:
My EE plan for today:
B: NAS squash, scrambled egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: sandwich (probably chicken), plums/pearbeef stir-fry with noodles
Syns: 0.75 in noodles:D don't want to overdo it!!0 -
Hey maman are you now maintaining? Sorry if I missed your news x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Copperjar
I love food I am always thinking about food and eat loads which is why this diet suits me. My mom has more to lose than me but she isn't mad on food (her calories come from wine etc) My mom doesn't do as well on slimming world because she doesn't eat enough and after years of dieting can't get her head around eating = weightloss.
If you're not eating enough then it may be that your metabolism has slowed down a bit. Add in some foods to your day like fruit and mix up your lunchs a bit maybe you could add a b extra to your lunch. I think certain cereal bars are b extras. Maybe if you're thinking of calorie counting stick to slimming world but still calorie count out of interest and if you find you're eating lots of calories swap something. I bet you find that you're under your calories though!
In regards to extra easy I at first thought it wouldn't work aswel as red and green but I actually lose more and I fall off the waggon less too, being able to mix the red and green free foods. As you only have one healthy b extra maybe try extra easy for a few days its worth a try.
When I exercise I do find some weeks I don't lose but my shape is lots better so take some measurements too.
Deffo post on here each day what you've eaten because everyone is fantastic and they may pick up on something you're doing wrong or not doing.
Hope some of the above can help.
