Bit fed up. Didn't stay to group last week, but apparently I won Slimmer of the Week! Just been to WI and I have put on 2 lbs. I have definitely not exceeded my syns for the week, so have no idea where it went wrong. I think it could be too much fruit, I know it is supposed to be free, but when I did WW I was eating too much of it and when I cut it back I lost weight.

Oh well, back to the drawing board, and we were planning an Indian takeaway tonight too as a treat.

Morning all. The 21st was a good night - I ate free & super free food all day and had my syns on booze. Unfortunately there were no diet mixers so I HAD to stick to red wine all night. Not sure how much wine in total but I was still walking and talking by the end of the night so I would assume a bottle and a bit!

back to the wire for the weekend though and no more syns til next weekend!

    Have a good weekend everyone.x

how much fruit were you eating?

yesterday was about as far from plan as i could get. i have a really bad cold and couldn't sleep a wink all night. finally fell asleep in front of BBC breakfast and DH packed me off to bed and i resurfaced round lunch, when i just couldnt face food. finally about 5pm i got the BIGGEST pizza craving ever and seeing as thought it was a complete sea change from not wanting anything at all DH ran with it and went out and got me one. it was rather tasty :rotfl: his friend stayed over and they got curry and ordered me one too to try and get food down me. i had a bit of the rice a few mouthfuls of the curry. were off out tonight too! thankfully its to Bem Brazil and thats basically flame grilled meat, potatoes, rice and salad bits so i count it as free :A

I have been having a Banana at 11am, then fruit salad after lunch, fruit at 3pm, and probably 3/4 pieces in the evening.

Doesn't seem much to me, depends how big the salad is and what evening fruit you have. What about portion size in your main meals? Also what about exercise? Been doing alot? Time of the month? The gain could be any number of reasons but think it can't be 'fat' it will only be water so should come of again pretty quick. Fingers crossed for you.

I decided to have oats for breakfast for a change, weighed it out [just over an oz on my dodgy scales] sooooooooo not worth it, was starving again 20 mins later :rotfl: will stick to my weetabix me thinks.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • i felt SO bad explaining that i was on jobseekers and much as id love to eat fresh food, we had a kitchen full of things i couldn't afford to just chuck out and replace and that i had no choice but to eat my way through it all first and stick to SW as much as i could afford to.

Evilsquid this is something that trips me up too. I think doing SW on a tight budget would be an excellent discussion point for your group when you get it!

I'm not on benefits but our food budget is EXTREMELY tight because we know we have massive heating bills coming in soon. It's harder in the winter months because a lot of widely-used veg in SW recipes e.g. peppers aren't really cheap right now and I care about things like food miles too. It's not easy at all. And meat is getting very expensive :( Much as I'm trying to stick to principles right now, I can't help but feel it'll be easier in the summer with more of an abundance of local veg to cook!

  • Alexelisey meat has gone ridiculous recently! thats why i like green days so if i do buy it, i can divide it up into raw HEB portions and freeze the other portions if i won't eat them in the next day or two. i get 4 meals out of one packet with 2 salmon fillets in and most beef/lamb steaks get me two meals too. EE is all very well but i cant justify eating a whole salmon fillet when i know i can get another meal out of it and just bulk the meal out with (cheaper) potatoes etc. it also means i make 1/2 the portion of sauce so i save syns there too!

could you maybe try only eating one or two bits in the evening if you are really hungry and see if that makes a difference?

are you eating it because you are really hungry or is it purely to reach the 1/3 SF over a day? if its that, can you try green days or red so you don't feel you "have" to eat the extra because the 1/3 SF rule doesn't exist? i think EE can trip people up because they have the temptation to add on loads of fruit to reach the 1/3 SF over a day when its better for weightloss to have mostly 1/3 veggies. thats why i don't understand the 1/3 SF rule, 1/3 of a meal as veggies is a brilliant plan but eating a free meal and then thinking "i have to eat 1/3 of that meal again in SF, so i'll have loads of fruit as snacks" seems counterintuitive to me, especially if the meal filled you up and you wouldn't have had that fruit normally if you didn't know about the 1/3 rule.

If you can get to Aldi take advantage of their special fruit & veg deals - plus their normal prices are much lower anyway.

This week they have sweet potatoes at 50p a bag - I bought 2 and have a massive pot of roasted sweet potato soup on the go.

Generally stick to seasonal veg - it's cheaper - plus peas as they are SS :)
