Hi all,
TIE -- can I ask what your cheese and potato pie is?
About the cheesy scones.. yes they are free but advised to use in moderation. I have made them and for a treat put some grated cheese from hea on top -- makes them tasty (actually would be really lovely with a big dollop of butter!!! and I dont lose weight why?? :rotfl:)
Anyway I also make the scones very thin and they can be used as small pizza type base. I also keep a bag in the freezer and when I need something studgy I pop one in the toaster or break it up into hot soup.
Piglet - keep positive. You have helped me a lot with your enthusiasm!!
keep losing everyone:T0 -
Oh and Piglet can you make/eat the famous dynrod soup.? Many people at my group eat it when they feel they need a "shift" in the right direction0

Cheese & potato pie is just mashed spuds and any other veg I have hanging around all mixed together with passata and cheese sprinkled on top [the original recipe had cottage cheese in but I didn't think it tasted of anything so missed it out this time.]Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

2.5lb off yesterday, am amazed as I don't feel any different really but I have been doing the 30 Day Shred for 4 days so I guess I might have lost a little all over?
Anyway. Tried a few new recipes yesterday:
Cous cous chicken kiev (1.5 syns each) - I thought it was yummy but hubby didn't like the texture of the cous cous so that'll be one for just me when he's having red meat (I only eat chicken, turkey and a few bits of fish)
Diet coke chicken (free) - haven't eaten it yet but had a taste from the pan and it's...interesting! Will have for tea tonight I think.
Cadbury's Light Mousse ice cream - yum! Advice is to take out of the freezer about 15 minutes before you want to eat it.
Does anyone know if any vanilla/fruity mousses freeze well in this way?My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

TakeItEazy - Knowing a thing or seven about poorly tums, can you have a green day and lay off the veggies and fruit? (or have mushrooms and bananas if you want veggies and fruit?) -it always sorts me out when I ditch the fruit and veg for a day and eat lots of carbs! Get well soon x
Well I'm not sure what has happened to me but I managed to stick to no syns last night. Twice on the run I have been perfect. I'll go ahead and give myself two "stickers". When I get to five perfect days of following the plan, I am going to have a treat (non foodie!).
Well done lillian - 2.5lb off is fab.
I did stuffed chicken last night again and it was yum. Chicken breast wrapped in cheese, stuffed with quark, 42g mozarella light and french mustard. Really tasty. Normal people could put garlic in too for even more yum.
Green day today - Always find them easier! Bought Straight to Wok Udon noodles thinking they were free but they aren't. Seem to be 1.5syns for the whole pack so going to have them for lunch with BBQ sauce (heinz!) for a few syns and mushrooms. Yum. Can't wait.0 -
OK I've put yesterday behind me and went out early this morning and bought some fruit and veggies which I realised I'd run out of and that's probably why I was eating lots of the wrong things yesterday. When I sat down and thought about it (or lay down in bed) I realised that perhaps I need a "free" day once a week to keep me on the straight and narrow the rest of the time. I don't eat more than about 5 or 6 syns a day during the week so maybe my body needs that extra. It certainly didn't hinder the weightloss last week and we'll see if it has any effect this week.
Today's plan -
Wed 25 January 2012
B-Banana; Vegetable Frittata – courgette, onion, sweet potato, tomato, 2 eggs, 45g mozzarella
S- fruit
L-Tuna Salad – cabbage, cucumber, tomato, red onion, beetroot, red pepper, tuna, seasoning, 1 tblspn light mayo
S-2 slices w/m bread, humous, cucumber
D-Vegetable & Chickpea Soup; Chicken & Beef Stir-fry – cabbage, onions, green beans, mange tout, sweetcorn, soya sauce, seasoning, chicken, beefMediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
I just cannot seem to get going first WI lost 1 1/2lbs, second gained it back and now third lost it again.......got to try and eat properly, snag is been snacking for a few years not eating proper meals and tummy gets full very quickly then hungry again an hour later - any tips gratefully received. One big problem I have a health condition which gives me pain and a LOT of tiredness and exhaustion so if I make a meal hubby will eat it and mine as I will be to tired to eat it and end up having a sandwich ( don't get me wrong I give hubby my share and if he cannot manage it it is frozen if can be or if can't dogs have it.......how can I get out of this habit, just easier to eat a sandwich than a meal.......when I cannot cook hubby heats himself something from freezer and I again have a sandwich or end up eating a biscuit if to tired to really eat, snag is also meds and my condition cause weight gain so I feel I am fighting against the tide, but I do not want to give up.
I keep reading all your posts in the hope eventually I will be brainwashed into eating sensibly - I prefer red and green, mainly red as I will stand up and admit I love and need meat ( crave it sometimes). I make my own bread so not quite sure how many sins it comes to but a lot, usually my sandwich is just bread and butter nothing else.
I have bought crackerbread and do like it and am trying to eat that than bread, but then as I know I do at least a couple of times a week I don't eat enough, I very often have one day a week I am to tired to eat anything at all, and I know this doesn't help.
Exercise can be hit and miss as I spend around 80% of my day in bed, sitting propped up with laptop on over bed table. When I have the energy I walk on my treadmill and I am hoping to grow my own vegetables this year although I will not be doing most of the work as not able but some weeding, planting out I will manage.
Have any of you wonderful woman got any ideas to help me, even if I can just continue to lose 1lb a week it would mean I am at target weight in a year as I have 55lbs to lose.
I know I am not the only person with a chronic health problem to want to loss weight, please anyone here done it or know of someone who did to keep me going.....
Sorry sound so sorry for myself and I am not I am determined to loss weight and give up smoking, so if I come across as poor little me please forgive me, I just am not sure how to explain my problems.
I did have word with the woman who runs my group but all she told me was I must make sure I eat enough every day, she never has advised someone like me, not her fault, she is a lovely inspiring woman and I love going to her group
Anyone help me??????? Ok ok I heard you the one that said give her a kick up her **** true its what I need so feel free to do so
HugsNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Lilian - well done on the weight loss.
Medmum - just put yesterday behind you and your food plan for today looks good.0 -
Prepareathome - don't feel bad for struggling most of us on here struggle at some point. From reading this thread it is clear that most people, myself included slip up when we have not prepared. Is it possible you could prepare meal plans for the week and perhaps if you have the energy do some batch cooking so that all you need to do is heat it up. Most importantly, don't give up just try to adjust little things each week in your diet and you will get there.0
