I know i've gone over on syns but i'd rather this than end up at the chip shop - i dread to think how many syns fish and chips are.. especially since our shop is double normal portions!!

I was told at SW this week that a small portion was 27 sins

    Quick question please:

I had lunch out today. The best option looked like butternut squash and chickpea soup. The waitresses were really busy so I didn't like to ask about ingredients. How do I syn unknown meals?

what i do is search syns online under the keywords box and see if something comes up for what I've had. if it does, i go off what it says for a shop bought one thats proportionate to the portion size I've had. if it doesn't, i try and find the closest thing to it.

other than that if i know it was mostly free food and it isn't dripping in fat and grease then i class it as free.

:eek::eek: even worse than i thought!! and at our chippie they do battered chips and the fish is longer than our plates.. i dread to think how many syns that would all be, imagine all that oil! no wonder i'm always ill the next day with a dodgy tummy :rotfl:TMI???

Oops meant to say, Evilsquid - good luck with the consultancy. Our consultant absolutely loves her job and you can tell.. i've never been to a class where so many people stay for image therapy. I think she does 4 classes a week (maybe 5) and i'm sure she'd put on FB the other day that she'd had over a 100 people in some of them..
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

The only recipe I could find was:Nice and easy soup on extra easy mainly made of superfree foods, great for wloss, butternut squash cut up, onions fresh carrots ,turnip 2 chicken stock cubes make up too 1.5 pints pour over all veg black pepper ,boil until soft then blend, a v filling tasty soup.
Chickpeas are a free food so I can't imagine that there was many syns (if any) in your choice unless they added a bottle of olive oil to it - which I doubt!
Like evilsquid I try and syn it against a similar product from the SW website and then add a couple of syns on - just in case! Unless you're eating out regularly in a week, one meal that you have to guess isn't too dangerous to your week's plan!
A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:

Luckily I don't like the batter so that bits easy for me - it's resisting the chip butties that's the problem!

  • Rummer,

try sugar free jelly (1 and half syns for 1 pint of jelly)

You can mix a mullerlight yogurt into the jelly to get a mouse like jelly.

Also Cadbury Light mouse (3 syns). Freeze them and bring them out for 10 mins and taste like chocolate ice cream. It says on the pack not to freeze but everyone in my class does it with no problems
