I tried to make a SW weetabix cake for my weight management friends on my b'day but it wouldn't cook, was sloppy in the middle and I eventually put it on the fire. I am not sure if I did something wrong but I was a Home Ec teacher so usually know what I am doing.
Can anyone recommend a low syn cake I could make for next week? We meet on Thursdays. I am not a sweet eater but all the ladies at the group are keen cake and pudding eaters and are all in their 70s so I thought I would treat them.
bad news on my weight too. I didn't go to WI but on my scales which are the same as the hospital I put on 7lbs!!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

poohbear - have you tried the SW roulade - not too everyone's tastes but you can adapt the filling to whatever you like. It's a bit eggy for me but i'd rather eat this than scan bran cakes :rotfl:

FC xxFinally because you are doing a lot of exercise you should measure yourself. This was the best piece of advice anyone ever gave me. So your body is in better shape but it is not showing on the scales.
Just today I was reading a an article about a rugby player who gained weight but doctors now say he is fitter than he was before and the his body fat % has not changed.
hope this helps.
don't forget, pretty much every single athlete in the olympic games in summer will have a BMI of obese. as do professional rugby players. what SW measures people on is fine for people who do little to moderate exercise but when you start doing it properly like big runs, triathlons, weight and resistance training etc, then the BMI and simply how much you weigh is a completely useless measure to you.
i bet when i go to group in two months time i'll look completely different to how i do now, even if i only have a small loss in comparison to the woman who just got her gold body magic award from walking a bit during the week. i may have only "lost" 4.5 pounds but I've spent all day yanking up my jeans because i couldn't walk 50m without them falling down again. the last time they were like this was when my weight was a stone lighter than the weight i am now, yet they are looser on me now i'm heavier.
my fitness measures are my running PBs and circuit repetitions. the first time i ran 2.4km it took me 24 mins, my best ever is 3km in 19mins. i can gauge from my distance and time where i am on that scale and what i need to do to improve. i used to die after 1 womans press up, now i can knock out 15 before i die. when my pt pushed me i did 35. 35! no mater what my consultant tells me about exercise meaning nothing and that I've basically just stuffed myself with syned food this week, i can smile and nod at her ramblings and accusations because i know i have NSVs from the gym and my jeans.0 -

It sounds like a lovely choice for the sweet toothed in my group but I might have to wait until I can go somewhere that sells Quark and white chocolate options. Out here in the sticks we only have the most basic ingredients.

L: 2 soft boiled eggstuna pasta bake with lots of veggies.

hello!!!
Just popping by to share a video i found online.
This is a recipe for Tandoori chicken, now i think this would be totally free on Red/EE if you skipped the oil and used fat free natural yogurt. The chef is using de-skinned chicken.
You can make your own ginger/garlic paste by mashing up some fresh ginger and garlic cloves with a little bit of salt using a pestle and mortar
Def gonna try this myself when OH is at work!teehee!!

This chef is very lively but his food is awesome! (I have tried and tested many of his dishes on OH and OH gives them the thumbs up! Of course i say they are mine.... shhh!!)
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Hi all, sticking my nose in to say hello and introduce myself. I have 3 stone to lose and I'm on my second week of EE. I hope to have lost it all by our first wedding anniversary in September. First week was -1.5lb which wasn't too bad. I'm not going to class but my best friend is an ex-SW consultant so she's my sounding board for a lot of things. I work full-time in an office so have found it more difficult to organise breakfast and lunches, but I'm getting there. My first coffee of the day is an indulgence I refuse to do without - made with all milk, pure Gold Top. I syn it at 11 syns as it's half a pint. It means I have to be pretty syn-free for the rest of the day but I allow myself up to 6 syns for other things if I need them.
Really happy to meet everyone and see all the great losses and menus posted!:j"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
Oh, don't think like that Melgirl, have a look through the SW recipes, they don't have to be boring diet food.
oh, I know it's not really boring, I just meant going back to normal food from 5 star all inclusive food 24 hours per day lol
I am making burgers on Monday, I found the recipe on the SW website.VSP Challenge 2010 No 19 - £416.09 , 2011 No15 - £497.17, 2012 No9 - £146.52. 2013 No5 - £113.92SPC4 No1066 - £948.95,SPC5 No1066 - £659.49 (2 stone 13lbs)SPC6 No1066 - Pot 1 - 3.03b. Pot 2 - 3.05lb Pot 3 - 3.0lb0 -

That would take you over your syns for the day [10 on EE or max 15 for G/R] and if you are maxing out every day I wouldn't expect much or any weight loss each week.
Welcome in by the way and feel free to post your food diaries for comment/help.
Welcome back SWOGS [slimming world old gals or guys depending what you are :rotfl:]
