Bubble and squeak was very, very nice. I baked it in the oven with 1 tspn of olive oil (2 syns), but would have been fine on the GF grill I think. Lots to freeze too. Thanks for the advice!

Yes, it cooks fine on the GF! If you hve lots of cabbage and enjoy indian food, you can cut the cabbage really finely and cook it quickly with fennel seeds and chilli - it makes a lovely accompaniment to any meal but especially a curry.

Hello everyone I've been good today but just having a (carefully measured) rum and diet coke now, anyone lives on the Welsh Borders - Harry Tuffins have giant bottles of real diet Coke for £1. Cherry Muller in the freezer for later (around 9pm) --oooh does life get any better :D:D:D

    Welcome back Owl!

well started the day full of good intentions but sadly I've still managed to have too many syns. Have arranged a food delivery shop for tomorrow that includes some salad stuff and melon and other veg bits - slowly getting back on track.

Yesterday I posted a question asking what everyone enjoyed for their tea on a friday evening ? its been interesting reading your replies.

as i sit here now slightly feeling peckish... I am keen to know what everyone enjoys when they want a sweet fix. I know if I had something naughty in the house then I would end up eating it..... whatever the syn value. How does one get over this ?

lbnblbnb - you're welcome, looks like your bubble and squeak turned out well, you'll have to let us know how you get on after you freeze it. Sounds like you've got your week really well planned; I know what you mean, I'm in work tomorrow but no Canteen service so no lovely salad bar!

Thanks for the tip Maman I'm trying to always snack on SF fruit and then making tomato sauces with lots of veggies or having a salad. I'm hoping this does the trick; first weigh in Tuesday so I guess I'll find out if it's working then :)

Had a lovely dinner at my Mum's but spent 8 syns as she insisted I have a yorkshire pudding and a smidge of stuffing and she put margarine on the potatoes! Then of course spent some syns on my gravy - was delish though so worth it. Plus have been pretty good with syns so far; havent spent more than 8 a day.

Shala Moo - that's a great result, well done :T

Don't worry Flat Eric we all have those days; tomorrow is another day. I find when I'm struggling to get on track; I just think of each day at a time, makes it easier.

Just had some lovely cheese on toast with my HE's and an apple - yum :)

Does anyone else struggle to get in the SF on a Sunday, I don't tend to eat much on a Sunday as we usually have a roast dinner, with lots of veggies, so not as hungry and don't tend to snack?
  • Hi everyone popping back in here again, I have 6lb left to go to target (having lost 3st 6.5lb since feb 17th!) and would love some support for the final push. Is it just me or does anyone else who has lost weight feel the same as when they started? I don't know if its just that my brain needs to catch up with my body or what!

I won our class 'woman of the year 2011' last week and have been entered into the district finals so thats something to look forward to even if I'm not expecting to win, its nice to be part of it :)

Hope everyone is doing well xx

    Thank you :beer::beer:

Tomorrow is indeed another day. I am planning on making a pasta quiche as have a tub of quark that needs using up and I'm having dinner cooked for me but its a healthy tea (steak/jackets/butternut squash).

Tried hard today and started well. tried to get over the mindset that the week generally had been poor so what was the point of getting back on track - why not wait till weigh in day before starting again but of course thats silly. still hard though.

Yes I find weekends strange - as long as I am organized then during the week I munch on fruit as a late breakfast / snack throughout the morning and really miss it if I don't have it (find myself eating synful chocolate/other synful things) yet at the weekend I don't eat hardly any fruit ? yet when I'm hungry, instead of having a piece of fruit find myself going for something synful when I have a fridge full of fruit to pick from ?

    I need to get organised.

Flat Eric, when I want something sweet I find a Options hot chocolate is enough (2 syns). Sweet things aren't really my downfall however, things like cheese, nuts, mayonnaise are. There used to be someone on here called Cheeseadict and I always thought that username would suit me...
As for your earlier question about Friday night, I definitely see Friday night as special. I am a teacher and am often crawling towards the weekend, so always very happy when it arrives! I always used to make pizza (dough in the breadmaker, roast veg, small amount of passata as sauce) but I have worked out that if I make half the dough for the base (thinner base but still fine) and use WM flour it equals two HEBs of 57g wholemeal bread. I can frylight roast the veg, it is pretty SW friendly. I sometimes put Mozzarella or parmesan on as HEA, but we hardly ever had cheese before so not too bothered.
My approach is to try to adapt meals I love rather than eating special "diet" food. I love cooking (and eating!) and I know I would give up very quickly if I had to eat food I didn't enjoy.

  • FlatEric, my sweet treats can be:
a few strips of dried mango (they take ages to eat!)
    an options hot choc drink
my favourite - a frozen muller light yog.
or if I haven't had my HEB yet, and I do often forget it, 3 pagen krisprolls with measured golden syrup drizzled over and left to soak in :D

Welcome to Scorpiod - you could even look at a "stone at a time" loss Scorpiod so that every 6 - 8 weeks you can give yourself a lovely treat
