Just had home made Sweet and Sour Chicken SW style and it was delicious....my other half (not knowing it was slimming world) said it was the nicest one he'd had! ;)

Mmm and there's some left for my lunch on Mon and Tues!

I do - it serves 4 and should have been with Pork but I only had chicken -

1lb 454 pork fillet cut into strips
    1 egg white
175g can water chestnuts sliced (I don't like so left out)
    3 tbsp Light soy sauce
    2 Tbsp dark Soy sauce
    2 tbsp sweetner
    2 carrots, cut into batons
1 green pepper, deseeded and slied into strips
1 red pepper, deseeded and sliced int ostrips
    fry light
    1/4 pt/142ml chicken stock
2 tbsp rice vinegar (didn't have so used white wine vinegar)
    6 tbsp passata
4 spring onions, sliced (reserve one for garnishing)
    2 level tsp cornflour
Boiled dried egg noodles to serve (I used rice)

    1. Mix the egg white with 4 tbsp water. Add the meat along with water chestnuts, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce and 1 tbsp sweetner. Meanwhile blanch the carrots and peppers until just tender.
    2. Heat a large wok sprayed with Fry Light. Once hot add the pork and cook through. Remove the pork with a slotted spoon.
    3. Put 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1tbsp sweetner, stock, vinegar and passata in a pan. Bring to the boill. Add the veg. Mix the cornflour with 1 tbsp water. Add to the pan and cook for a further 2 mins. Reduce the heat, add the pork and simmer 4 - 5 mins. Remove from the heat and put in warmed bowls.

Hope you like it too..... enjoy

Not weird at all! I do this because I post pictures of what I eat on my Tumblr weight loss site and people like to see healthy looking food!

She's usually quite jealous cos she's not much of a cook!! :D We text each other details of most meals so its nice to be able to see what it looked like too!!!! It is pretty odd I suppose! I once mentioned it at work and everyone just looked at me oddly :rotfl:

  • I love chilli too. It is so easy to make a huge batch and then freeze. I always put a tin of baked beans into my chilli. If your trying to save money this makes it go further.

Pennylane please give it another go. The reason I love Slimming world is because of the variety of foods and also the quantity I can have. I love food and this is why I really like slimming world.

I love the comments you get from people when they see your plate piled high with food and wonder how on earth you can lose weight.

There is no shame in needing to go to group. I had reached target and then didn't go for 2 months and put on 10lbs. The thing I like about group is the new ideas which allows me to vary my diet and therefore not get bored.

Hi all. This thread is really moving! another oldie here who needs to get her a### in gear for this year. So will love getting new ideas and recipies from you all. I have found that although I know SW well I am cheating myself so am rejoining and going back to basics. My main downfall wine.:o So will try to save for weekend syns only.

A few things from diets of yester year (been trying to lose weight for a long time!!) Three Ws--- Water Walk Watch (what you put in your mouth):) Never eat standing up!
And people were chatting about avoiding cravings -- I found cleaning your teeth for 3 or 4 mins and a drink of water helped!!

Also on the subject of breakfasts ,, does anyone remember Marions rice? Ordinary pudding rice cooked with water and sweetener add a yogurt eat hot and keep some for cold breakfast. Very filling. I used this a lot before I retired..

Hope to lose with you all this year

ok everyone needs to try the sw chilli, I made it for the first time tonight and it was absolutely gorgeous, much better than any of the jars i've ever tasted. I filled a lot of my plate with mixed lettuce & grated carrot and had the chili on top of a baked potato.

It was full of lovely vegetables which are completely hidden so had free foods there... onion, fresh chillis, garlic, tomatoes. You could add mushrooms but I had already had them for breakfast this morning.

if you like spicy food then this is great as you can make it as hot as you like! I hugely recommend! :D

sweet chilli pork tomorrow! Just call me nigella :rotfl:
