the new one has full fat mozzarella as HEA and its now gone up to 45g.

also, I've noticed they haven't updated the website HE tool with the new values from the book. lots are still listed as 28g that are now 30g etc. if you have the new book, i'd go off the new book for now and ignore the website.

    hi Kate!

    it sounds ok to me!

with the WH bread, one HEB is 2 slices from a small loaf, 2 from the Warburtons medium loaf or a serving totalling 60g of any other bread. its probably worth checking the slice you have to see if it is 60g.

mug shots are great snacks and mullerlight. both of them are usually on offer somewhere, i don't think any of us pays full price for them :rotfl:

fruit and cold meats are always good too.

ooh I had 1 slice from hovis medium and presumed it would be classed as healthy extra? have i done this wrong?

  • Had to have an unplanned lunch out today and hoping I made an ok choice! Had a carton of winter vegetable soup and a "chunk" of white bread eaten on a park bench!! It was either that or a mayo laden sandwich or a pasty!!
I hadn't planned on eating out today and find unexpected meals out a pain in the you know what!
Dinner tonight will be grilled salmon, "sauted" potatoes and a big watercress salad. Apart from a muller light and some fruit I wont be eating anything else today! Hopefully lunch wont do too much damage!!

Nikkisun if you are using your HEA for tea and coffee make sure it is measured out. I know in my group that this has really slowed some people's weight loss down. I am addicted to tea so I have to measure milk out at the start of the day to make sure I don't go over.

I had Coronation Pasta Chicken for lunch. It was lush! I usually make it with cold pasta but used hot pasta today and this made it a lovely warming lunch on a cold day.

The ingredients for the coronation sauce are:

1 tbsp of extra light mayo (1/2 syn)
    2 tbsp of passata
1 tbsp of mango chutney (2 syns)
    1 tsp of curry powder
    Lime juice (optional)
    salt and pepper

Just mix every thing together. Add peppers, spring onions, tomatoes, chicken, etc. Mix in hot pasta and serve. This sauce would also make a lovely dip.

You also have to add a couple of tbsp of fat free yogurt!

I am scanning through this thread looking for inspiration. I have put on about a stone in the last year and am thinking of going back to SW. I lost nearly 2 stones a few years ago (mainly on Original/Red) and kept that off for a couple of years. I was always a slow loser though and it took about 18 months to lose that. Others were losing 2, 3 & 4 lbs a week I was lose a pound, stay the same, lose half a pound, stay the same etc.:(

I went back to SW briefly the winter before last and by then it was EE and that totally did my head in and I stopped going.

I believe I need the discipline of attending a group and first time around I loved SW. I have been reading up on other classes but SW is still the one I think would suit me best.

Problem is I just cannot get myself totally motivated and I keep remembering how very hard it was to lose my weight before and the thought of Muller yoghourts, crispbreads and a bit of cheese the size of a matchbox is making me feel disheartned before I start.

I measure it out in the morning - most days I find I haven't used it all in coffee so I just drink whatever's left.

I've checked online and 2 slices of the hovis small (400g loaf) or 2 hovis nimble are 1 HEB.

with HEA/B and syns never, ever presume. always check before you eat it exactly what it is otherwise you end up thinking its one thing, eating it all week, getting an maintain or a gain and then wondering why. it also avoids eating it then realising it was actually a large amount of syns. the worst for that are cereal bars, only a few count as HEB, i had one the other day that needed eating but it set me back 9 syns!

my old group had a core group who guesstimated on HEs and syns and then every week wouldn't loose as much as the people who measured and would feel really disappointed. there was one woman who ate weight watchers oven chips all week presuming that cz they were potato and WW they must be free (they are syned and she had a gain).

i find it best to think about what you'd want to eat if you weren't on a diet, then figure out a way to make it SW friendly. half of the time, you barely notice a taste difference.

pick one meal that you really, really want to eat. pick the day it's best on from G/R/EE then try and make it as SW friendly as you can. once you've got the free food, HE and Syns written for that, look at what you still have left and the other meals you need to account for.

if you start off with the mindset of it being hard and that you can only eat a few things then it won't go as well. if you also aren't eating enough your body goes into starvation mode and you won't loose because your body will try to store every calorie it can incase food stops altogether. thats why SW say eat to feel full, it stops your body doing this and start to burn up the excess weight.

if you like cheese, try some green days and then you have potentially 4 HE choices that can be used for cheese.

    Hi:wave:

I joined SW and had my 1st weigh in last Wed, lost 3lb :j I have a long way to go but I'm enjoying the plan.

Tonight we have OH's brother and wife over, but I'm making SW chilli (which is the same as the way I make it anyway), reduced fat soured cream. There will be wine and cheesecake for pud, but I've walked for 3 hours today and will be out walking again tomorrow so I'm hoping for damage limitation.

I do however need to get more organised with shopping and meals, when I can do a big shop I'll do a meal plan.

I'll keep checking here for tips and meal ideas.
