I missed my first class on Tuesday as I didn't get the car back from the garage in time. I am dying to start because I feel sure I am getting wrong because I am eating for Scotland.

    Today I have had:

B: 28g porridge cooked with frozen forest fruits with Total 0% yoghurt stirred in.

s, an apple. I have watermelon and pineapple for later

    L. (is this really possible?) a slice of lean ham, baked beans, 2 grilled tomato and an onion and mushroom omlette made with 2 eggs.

    d. Quorn mince with cabbage, carrots and potato.

    Yesterday I ate:

    B - same as today
snack: cherry toms, mangetout, plum and satsuma

    L. Large tuna baked potato and a mound of carrots, grapes

    d. 2 slices lean roast beef, gravy made with 2 teaspoons bisto brocolli and mixed veg, apple

I went swimming yesterday. I am eating more than before I started, Very different foods, but more. Is this really ok? :o

You certainly can have a huge omelete and all the other things you are eating - just need to stop when your feeling full!!

I love this eating plan and (as I keep saying) I keep smiling to myself when my work colleague brings out her measly portions on the WW plan!!!

What a shame you couldn't make it to your first weigh in - can you weigh yourself at home this week and see how you get on?? (class scales may read differently though)

Just realised you have nothing down for your HEA - is the milk added to your porridge? :p

Good luck for this week - everyone on here is sooo supportive and helpful...:j

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step. Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.

Thank you for the help. I like milky tea, so I am using skimmed milk in the endless of tea I drink. By my scales I have lost 3lbs this week and my work trousers are loser. The scales are not very reliable, so will be happier with an SW weigh in every week.
  • Unable to see mozarella light under my HEA choices in the book I have, but 28g is 2.5 syns so about 4 syns for 48g ....bare with me here working it out whilst typing ..... plus an extra light triangle is 1 syn.

mozzarella light is not a HEA, i checked the website the other day when i wanted some. it is only a GREEN HEB and you can have 65g from the new book.

syns now 25g for 2.5 syns.

    hi everyone,

I have just started slimming world... first class is on wednesday.
I am usually over on the competitions board but will be hanging around here quite a bit if thats ok as I need to lose some post baby and post christmas weight.

    I've been following the extra easy plan this week... today oh let me have a lie in :D so I had to have a breakfast lunch combo so went for this;

1 slice of wholemeal bread from large loaf (healthy extra?)
1tsp- (prob a bit less actually) flora buttery 1.5 syns
    3/4 tin of baked beans
1 slice of lean ham - all visable fat removed
2 scrambled eggs & chestnut mushrooms drop of milk from healthy extra allowance of milk.

does this sound ok?? is everything apart from the butter, bread & milk definitely free?

am i ok having the bread and milk as my healthy extra options from list a & b?

I'm making chilli con carne for dinner later using extra lean mince and following the slimming world recipe. I'm going ton have a jacket potato and salad with it.

any tips for snacks would be gladly appreciated :D

looking forward to getting to know you all :)

I can report back that the Syn Free Eggs Benedict that I posted last night was........... YUMMY!!! The hollandaise sauce tasted rather good, obviously not quite like the real thing! but pretty good for syn free :D I will definitely be having it again...probably same time same place next Saturday morning :D Had it on green today and used ~40g smoked salmon as part of a HEB. I used Quark to thicken the sauce up, probably need 2 tablespoons of quark per egg I reckon. I can't eat Dill so had it without and it tasted fine, just used salt, black pepper and lots of lemon juice. Yum Yum!

Fairycakes - thanks for working that out for me! Much appreciated :D

Evilsquid (cool name!) - I only have the old book which Mozarella light is a HEA per 42g I think.......will syn it to be safe. :D

    Green day for me today.

    B - 1 x White nimble (1/2 HEB), light spread and Jam (1.5 syns)

L - The Syn Free Eggs Benedict on 1 x White nimble (1/2 HEB), 45g smoked salmon (1/2 HEB), 2 mini gingerbread men (2 syns)

D - Jacket potato with 61g reduced fat cheddar (1 1/2 HEA), Salad Cream (2 syns)

    S - 120ml semi-skimmed (1/2 HEA)

Syns: 5.5syns up to now. So much easier when I am off work and can stomach eggs in the morning. Eggs at 6am just don't sit right all day on a week day ! :(

Got a buffet to contend with this evening. God help me!

the new one has full fat mozzarella as HEA and its now gone up to 45g.

also, I've noticed they haven't updated the website HE tool with the new values from the book. lots are still listed as 28g that are now 30g etc. if you have the new book, i'd go off the new book for now and ignore the website.

    hi Kate!

    it sounds ok to me!

with the WH bread, one HEB is 2 slices from a small loaf, 2 from the Warburtons medium loaf or a serving totalling 60g of any other bread. its probably worth checking the slice you have to see if it is 60g.

mug shots are great snacks and mullerlight. both of them are usually on offer somewhere, i don't think any of us pays full price for them :rotfl:

fruit and cold meats are always good too.

My menu for today is as follows: -

    Breakfast: Red grapes
Kelllogs hi fibre milk choc bar (HEB)

Lunch: SW chips, 3 fried eggs, salt, vinegar and worcester sauce.

Tea: SW curry possibly with a side of bombay potato and cabbage and leek mix.

Syns - none so far today.

Today is kind of extra easy but no superfree at lunchtime so almost tempted to treat today as a mix to match day so I can benefit from extra healthy extras.....
  • Nikkisun if you are using your HEA for tea and coffee make sure it is measured out. I know in my group that this has really slowed some people's weight loss down. I am addicted to tea so I have to measure milk out at the start of the day to make sure I don't go over.

I had Coronation Pasta Chicken for lunch. It was lush! I usually make it with cold pasta but used hot pasta today and this made it a lovely warming lunch on a cold day.

The ingredients for the coronation sauce are:

1 tbsp of extra light mayo (1/2 syn)
    2 tbsp of passata
1 tbsp of mango chutney (2 syns)
    1 tsp of curry powder
    Lime juice (optional)
    salt and pepper

Just mix every thing together. Add peppers, spring onions, tomatoes, chicken, etc. Mix in hot pasta and serve. This sauce would also make a lovely dip.

my favourite snacks are red grapes plus carrot sticks, spring onion sticks, pepper sticks and cucumber sticks. sometimes with a dip - as low syn as possible.

    plus muller lites of course!

I snack on fruit - oodles of it! I love things like melon, chopped up and in a bowl in the fridge - stops me eating naughtier stuff!

Otherwise I'm a big FF yogurt fan - I love the Activia fat free ones...

And if I really need something then I'll heave a black pepper Ryvita loaded with ham and salad - thye ryvita is 2 syns but I find them filling ( much more so than a malted milk biscuit - which is also 2 syns!)
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
