wewe- thanks for that. interestingly enough i lost 2lb this week on red - so i deffo think meat is the way to go! if i loose the next two weeks on red i will stick with it. i am finding the other things useful - diary online, FIT logs. if i go it alone i know i will pile on the weight.

piglet - so what is the secret to your amazing loss? any pointers for us slow losers?

i have 2 stone to go.

i just follow the plan.....do 1 / 2 green days a week (tho just for handiness...i be in a mad hurry out to an exercise class once a week...so just have beans n toast or something like that...)

other than that day or 2....im extra easy all the way....do lots of body magic....walk every day....exercise bike for 15 mins 4 / 5 days a week....water aerobics once a week...and a circuits class once a week...

i have a chinese takeaway every sat nite...and always use my syns...any week i didnt....it didnt give me any better a loss....so i just have them....:D

i dont know how it works....but it does...:D

i really enjoy it....never hungry...never ate so much in my life...and never felt better
  • Just checking in with a 2lb loss this week. As some of you might remember I don’t go to class but WI at home on a Sunday Night, that’s right, Sunday Night! Not sure why I thought this would be a good time to weigh in but I have started now so I may as well carry on. Weekends are my downfall though. I do like a wee drink now and then (every Fri & Sat)!!!

I did have a couple of days off plan, mainly because life just got in the way and plans changed. I tried to make good choices though so that must have helped. I done EE all last week but have decided to try Red/Green this week. Yesterday was a bit of a disaster so I am just drawing a line under it and going from now. Today is a Green day, I had a Banana and Muller for breakfast (running late so just grabed what I could), Snack was a plum and lunch was Pasta N Sauce (I checked & it’s free) using my milk as HEa. Followed by an apple. I have managed to have 3 sugars in my teas so that is 3 syns. Tea is an ongoing issue for me, grrrr. Tonight we are having homemade egg & chicken fried rice (always use frylight for this anyway) so that should be free using Chicken as my HEb. I am planning on having 2 mini spring rolls which I have syn’d at 2 each so that will be another 4 syns and plenty of soy sauce, nom nom. Does this sound ok? I know I will still have HE over but do I have to use them? I probably won’t want any more HEa but I could possibly squeeze in a couple of Alpen Lights as a treat in the evening. I really don’t want any more syns as I am trying to claw back some of the 35 extra I ate yesterday. I know this is not strictly allowed but the way I see it is you’re allowed 105 syns per week, I ate 50 yesterday so need to adjust what I have the rest of the week to regain the 35 syns too many, this should then break me even. Works in my head anyway.

As for the 30 Day Shed, I have been looking at doing this for weeks. I have looked on YT but couldn’t find a decent enough version to follow so I have dropped major hints (read as told him) for DH to buy me this for Xmas. A delivery came yesterday addressed to him from play so I think he may have done as he was told for once. I am really looking forward to doing it as I do like my exercise. I have to be fairly fit for my job and I am lucky in that I get time off work to train and I have free use of a gym and pool. I have been suffering with an injury of late (all sorted now thankfully) but this means that I have got a fair bit of work to do to get back to full fitness. Need to take things slowly to avoid getting injured again. I done circuit training yesterday and I was planning on going for a run today but I forgot my kit (doh). Will see what I can do tonight but won’t hold my breath as DH is away so I have my darling kids to see too. Might see if anyone has a exercise dvd I could lend. Circuits again tomorrow though.

Dimbo, thank you for checking the syns for me. The option drink is a new limited edition Banana one, it was lovely so I really do hope it is not too bad. The cake bar was a Cadburys Boost one, bought them for the kids treat but have worked out they are 10 syns each. Not worth it so will steer clear from now on.

Dizzy, so sorry to hear your news, dreadful end to your holiday. Cancer is such a cruel disease. Sending hugs and prayers for the coming weeks.

Sorry for the long post, forgot how I love to ramble.

Averaging your syns over the week is a bit of 'tweaking' of the plan. So the official line is that it's not the way it was intended. However I have always done it and it worked for me and many others. I work on a 'bank' of 105 syns which I start using after WI. Most are drunk over the weekend;) which leaves enough for a bit of gravy, sauce etc.

Similarly the HEXs: 'officially' you're supposed to eat the lot each day and if you don't then you should syn what you have had. I don't mean where you have a choice of 1/2 HEXs on some plans but if you had part of your milk allowance or some cereal and no crispbread. Again, I've never been that strict and it worked for me.

I knew I was doing a certain amount of 'tweaking' but I worked on the principle that if I hit a barrier in my weightloss then I had some adjustments I could make. Fortunately it never happened.:)
  • Thanks Maman, I knew that I shouldn’t really bank my syns but it’s just something I wanted to try as there was no other way of getting out of a disastrous day yesterday. Fingers crossed and it will work for me and still leave me a bit of leeway to stop ‘tweaking’ if I stop losing. Glad it worked for you.

I also like to consume all my syns (and more) in liquid form over a weekend. I really must try and find a new ‘posion’ as 1 measure of my favourite tipple is a massive 5 syns, (I drink pernod). Plus I live in NI and our measures are slightly bigger, 35ml compared to 25ml. I am also a beer girl (I know, very ladylike) as wine just gives me such a bad headache and I just don’t like it. I could easily consume 150 syns on a night out, maybe more with the odd shot or Jager Bomb! My god I sound like a right Chavette. I am really not that bad and my nights out are few and far between these days.

 i strayed as walked to the shop (body magic) and bought choccies. i think it is ok though.

    green:
    b: 2 weetabix 150 s.mik. banana
    l: pasta n sauce......Packet of revels (8.5 syns)
    d: baked beans & 2 nimble. spread (2 syns)
sn: just had butternut squash soup. mulerlight.

i thought if i walked to the shop each day or few times a week I could put it in my FIT diary (i usually drive). I felt all good walking the 15 mins there but was then tempted by the chocs.....aarrggghhh.
