so the events of the last 12 hours confirm it - i cannot do EE. About 9pm last night i started to have awful pain - ended up in hospital with a blockage in my bowel - most likely caused by too much fruit/veg.

so its back to square one for me. The easiest thing for my body to digest is potatoe - no wonder i am fat

before i could go home they gave me white toast with butter  and a cup of tea.

so i think i'll stick with mostly green days - and use weighed meat/fish as a heb.....pasta and potato slides down the best.

but - do you think i can loose weight eating hardly any fruit/veg? or am i just wasting my money (i've paid for 6 week countdown).

    a very deflated saidan

Saidan, how awful. Sorry to hear this. I've never heard of a blockage in a bowel caused by fruit and veg - normally people get blocked because they don't eat enough! How frustrating for you. Is this a permanent condition?

Did anyone else struggle when it came to cutting bread out? I have slowly introduced the SW idea into our food (lurve the chips;);)) but I know I will miss bread. I have tried the SW bread and it's not for me:o

So how did every one else cope? Or is it just me addicted to bread:o

I wouldn't have said I was addicted to bread but I did find it hard to come up with easy lunches and breakfasts that didn't involve sandwiches or toast. I have the WW Brown Danish and toast it to make it more substantial. At 3 slices a day I can have a sandwich and a slice of toast which suits me fine. I'm not an expert on Green but I know you can have an extra HEB on that so it might help you or if you're really desperate then syn your extra bread if it's your idea of a treat.

Poor you, saidan, hope you're feeling a bit better. I don't do Green myself but if you read zippy's description earlier it seems you don't have to have f&v. A you've already paid it can't do any harm to give it a try.

What I am saying is the plan works even if you have a life along side of it. Have your life but don't forget to get back on plan as soon as you can and keep to it like glue.

Wise words, magnolia and just what I need today. :Ton your loss, clever girl!

I'm drawing a very firm line under my very flexi weekend which only ended with breakfast today. I've got a few days back on the plan before having a short holiday on Thursday.

    EE:
B: :oinvolved pancakes and HEA for teas
    L: tuna & salad sandwich
D: roast chicken, SW roast potatoes and parsnips, cabbage, carrots, gravy
    Snack: fruit if any
    Syns: gravy

:wave:welcome newbies, good to have you on board. Good Luck on your SW journey. I'm a target member now so I know it works!!

    Hi Guys

Have started SS today after no longer being able to fit into my clothes and thoroughly fed up of being overweight.
Am going to give the EE a go as I'm not a massive fan of vegetables so I can have meat and potatos and see how that goes, if it doesnt come off quick enough then I'll give the red or green days a whirl.
Anyway my question is are Heinz Spag Hoops free?? Just had a 400g tin for my lunch, and now I dont know if I need to count it as a syn or not?? A 100g on EE is free, so am hoping that a 400g tin is also?

Will have a proper read back through the thread this evening at home and hopefully posting details of my weight loss soon...(fingers crossed!)

    TIA

I'm a bit confused with your post valleylass. If you just want meat and potatoes then you won't be following EE. EE is the plan that must have a third of all you eat in fruit and veg. As a rough rule of thumb, I think of Red as the one with unlimited meat and Green with unlimited carbs. So there's no problem having your spaghetti hoops on Green (or EE but you must have f&v at some point in the day to balance it off).

I've lost all my weight on EE so I know can't be doing that without f&v. Others will advise on how to make it Green or Red. Perhaps you could post your day's menu plan so that we can advise how to tweak it?
  • OK, today is my first proper day as I spent the weekend eating all the bad stuff we had in and filling up the fridge with good stuff! I am attempting to do EE and so far I have had

    Breakfast
28g Ready Brek with Milk HEA
Large Handfull of Blueberries in with ready brek
    Tea with sugar 2 Syns

    Snack
    Banana

    Lunch
    Loads of Ham
    2 Boiled Eggs
Loads of grapes, watermelon & apple
Banana & Custard Muller (think this may have syns, will have to look up)

I have also had 2 litres water, 1 cup of tea with 1 sugar (1 syn) 1 cup green tea and done 40min of circuit training.

I know that having sugar in my tea is wasted syns but I really can not stand tea with sweetener. I don’t mind sweetener in coffee but I do prefer tea and I end up going over my milk allowance if I drink coffee as I have it fairly milky. I am trying to just have my normal 2 sugars in my first brew of the day then, if I have another tea I have 1 sugar 1 sweetener. Slowly I will wean myself off!

Tea tonight is gammon steak with SW chips and dry fry Egg, will throw some pineapple on to and follow it with some more fruit. I am not the biggest fan of veg although I do try to eat it however I love all fruit and would quite happily live on it, is there any such thing as a fruititarian? If anything jumps out as being off plan then please shout at me and let me know where I am going wrong. I need all the help I can get.

    Thanks
    Just little old me!

Don't know what is wrong with me today. Cannot stop eating. All on plan, but it's just constant. And have had eight syns already. Gah.

    Hiya
Sorry was posting quickly before my lunch break ended.
What I meant was I'm not a massive fan of veggies so would struggle on a red day to eat meat without Potatos etc to bulk my meal up.
My diary for today do far is:
    Breakfast-28g Quaker oat crisp-HEB
    Milk-HEA
    Banana

    Lunch
    400g tin Heinz spaghetti hoops
    Two satsumas

    Tea
Bacon, mushroom and pepper omelette with tomatoes

Havent used my syns yet-still plenty of time tho😄
Also had 4big glasses of water.

How does that look? Any tips etc?
Apologies if nothing makes sense again am posting off my phone whilst on train

Sorry to hear your news, sounds very painful. I can honestly say you CAN get to target on just green with not much fruit/veg as I did it the 1st time around. I hardly included any fruit and not much veg either and still got to target, took about 9 .5 months & lost 2.5st. This time I got to target doing green but WITH fruit & veg, only had 1.5st to lose but took the scenic route :rotfl: can't say all the fruit & veg made the weight loss any quicker though.

Spaggy hoops are free on green/EE
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Morning, it's my first weigh in today, I've lost 7lbs!! I knew the first one would be big, but I thought 3-4lb at the most. My mini target was 1 stone by the 17th of Dec ( my night out) so I'm half way there. So if I can just lose 1-2 lb each week til then I'll be pretty close.
I've stuck to it 100% this week plus lots Walking. I also started my new job in Asda, the warehouse is the opposite end if the store from the George dept, plus it's hard work.

    Today is green
B- porridge with banana and blueberries, a little of my milk allowance
L- cheese sandwich and a mugshot
D- baked bean lasagne and lots of salad
Snacks- satsuma, grapes and muller lite

Syns- spread on my sandwich (2) kit Kat 5 1/2

Hope you all have a good day x

Well done, that's a fab first week! Really gives you something to grab onto and focus on :T:T

Had a rubbish day today, had my food all planned and then had a surprise 3 hour meeting at work  so didn't get my breakfast. Had a sushi box from boots for 2 1/2 syns for lunch and a satsuma

Dinner was HM spinach, gruyere and bacon soup and it was amazing . The gruyere was hea, had an heb roll.

Will have fruit and total 0% later and then a penguin for my syns later.

Also did day 3/30 of 30 day shred today. Man it's a killer!

That looks much better, sorry I didn't understand earlier. I find posting a menu each day keeps me focused. And while bananas are superfree and OK I wouldn't have one too regularly, other fruits (esp the SS ones are better for losing. Good luck!

Well done to all the losers :T

Yesterday was another green day, but as I had to go down to London it was a little off plan I think. But not as bad as it could have been.

B - Dorset Fruit Porridge and Ryvita (HEB), SS Milk (HEA), Raspberries and Blueberries.
    S - Grapes
L - 2 x WM toast (HEB), 28g Cheddar (HEA), Small tin of Alphabetti Spaghetti (Guessing the same as spaghetti hoops, so free?)
    S - Plum, Pear
D - Went out to a pub quiz and had a veggie burger, with veg chilli on it and potato wedges. I only had half of the bun and a few wedges so if I allocate all of my syns maybe I'm not that far off plan after all.

Also did Level 1 Day 5 of the 30 Day Shred which burned 160 cals. Today's plan will be green again and I will be going to the gym today as well.
