Op Just wanted to say well done and keep plodding on. you have had a serious amount to deal with lately but you can get throught it. Keep strong and look to the future.
Something else to consider, if/when you have time is bobbing over to the PPI reclaiming section. If you had loans/cards it is highly likely they had PPi and it is highly likely any policies were miss sold. Many, many people both on here and other financial/consumer forums I go on are claiming and getting back refunds of PPI. At the least it would bring down the balances of some of the debts and at best would clear some altogether.
If the debt has been sold on to a debt collector then the PPI refunds cannot be used to offset the debt and you can have the money in full. You then can choose what to use it to clear.
If you get time have a read, only issue might be if you have claimed against the policies when ill/ redundant at any point-they offset any payments made against refunds paid (fair enough). PPI was systematically miss sold and the situation is far more cut and dried than the bank charges reclaims were. In fact I believe the FOS are upholding around 9/10 PPI complaints. Best of all it just takes time alot of form filling and probably patience whilst you wait for the ombudsman to look at it. Apart from your time and postage its free.

Just reread the thread and realised the PPI is on your to do list OP. I am in the early stages with mine. Got about 3 now at the stage of going off to the fos so we will see what happens lol. Good luck.
Hi Ali,
Thanks for dropping in & your words of support, and also for the PPI infoDidn't realise there was a PPI board ... really must look at the names of other boards from time to time
Yep, it's on my to do list, thanks to a couple of previous suggestions, but it didnt occur to me about anything other than the old mortgage and think it may need to move to my monthly list :rotfl:
Good luck with your claims, and please feel welcome to drop by if you have time.

word of warning.... anyone who was with pigsback... you have lost your points
I will say this to anyone, don't leave your money/points etc sitting in paypal, daily clicks/cashback sites, waiting for big payout, always cash out as soon as possible. I know with things like amazon, you usually need £20 for a voucher, but if you can get to to it, cashout as quick as youcan.
pigsback changed overnight, with no prior warning
Hi Aesop
Thanks for the heads-up on pigb*ck ... I did have funds in there, but it wasnt even close to a payout thankfully  Feel sorry for anyone who's lost lots of money though.

Having realised that one of weekly tasks was going to take more than a week - I've kicked it over to the monthly task list instead :rotfl:
Priority #2 - is now done, apparently the account had gone into dormant mode .. and has to be adjusted "manually" by a staff member - which wasnt done. It's now been dealt with and the new card etc should be delivered within the next 10 days.
I'm going to use this account for MS stuff and any eb*y stuff when I get round to doing that. But that will mean leaving 1 Priority task not done until I've received it all. Can't be helped though, bah.
# 3 & 5 of secondary list are now done, so moving along nicely. I can't do anything more on #3 until I've rotated stuff in another room and made some space. # 5 gave some odd discoveries ... dead paperwork - which really needs shredding as much of it has personal info on, which I don't like just putting in normal rubbish. Maybe a shredding (or shreddies !!!!!) task is due an appearance in next weeks list :rotfl:
# 6 is nicely underway, having done a bulk spag bol cook last night so now have 4 extra meals nicely tucked up in the freezer. Cheats chicken curry from tonight using the remaining roast meat has given 2 more meals also bagged n tagged in the freezer. Enough meat left over for tomorrow's dinner of chicken miso soup - which is more like a broth and served with french bread stick, makes a meal in itself.;) Final cooking session for batch 1 will be on Saturday - Sausage casserole is on the menu for dinner, and I will have enough to freeze at least 1 meal as well.
So, all in all a good week really - Only the Gumtree registration to do, which I'll tackle tomorrow night. Might also try a similar local online freeads thing as well.
Not heard back yet from WTC peeps, but it's only been a few days so not expecting to hear for a little while yet.
Think that's about it for now ...

Well managed to finish this weeks tasks a day early (yesterday) :T but only because I postponed one of the priorities until the other one has arrived with me. Still very pleased though, especially as it seems to keep me focused.
I finished my training earlier this week for the new part of my work role - and I've got my 1st batch of meetings booked in now for next week, I'm quite excited :j
Off to catch up / carry on with some of October's Tasks .... oooh and decide next weeks task list :A

If I finish ahead of myself, I'll use the extra time to make inroads into the monthly tasks instead

woohoo you are doing so well.
have decided I need to get fleeces for our curtains. Told DH I wanted to put curtains at front and back doors, he not happy with front door, said he will seal around the door if I show him where cold air coming in.... :wall:
curtain would make the difference, but I know for him it is a pain coming in through the door when curtain shut. But definitely need it for back door.
it is so cold here but still refusing to put heating on. have told DH to put clothes on, dressing gown, pjs. He moans every morning but am not heating whole house for him.
otherwise I have to turn off every rad in every room and turn them back on when I do want heating on.0 -

Awww shucks,,, thanks Aesop
I'm taking a stuborn stance too atm :rotfl: It's been quite nippy last couple of nights but likewise I refuse to switch on the heating just yet (yakky storage heaters), I don't have timer facilities on the heaters ... so they wind up pumping out heat during the day, with barely a trickle left when its needed in the evening - so I'm not prepared just yet to use electric on that, as it's not really cold during the day.
Oh, and I'm holding out on putting the gas fire on just yet too. I have got a couple of fan heaters (in a box somewhere :rotfl:) which I'll try to find and they can be used in a couple of rooms when needed. At least I wont be using electric and not getting any benefit when we need it that way.
The Winter bedthrow is out now though (found that when the stuff arrived from storage) and it is a heavy snuggly addition to the bed
I too am looking at putting curtains up at the front & kitchen doors - but first I need curtain tracks or a pole up. We dont use the front one much, but it was still a pain last year when I temporarily "pinned" them up ... too easy for the pins to pop out when you moved them .. and you couldnt swish them open like normal curtains
I'm sure its a "man thing" .... when we mention cold or something needing doing - you get the "dont be silly" speech ... strange how its suddenly a "must do" when they want something :wall: :rotfl:
Decided I need a "house goblin" like they have in Harry Potter .... one who materialises when I need extra handyman services :rotfl:
Oooohhh - Thanks for that hun, I'm liking the pointy snout one

Lol about the things needing doing round the house! I am sure it is a man thing. I want a load of old computers gone. But it is taking soooooooo loooooooong, that I am going to say to him soon, if you don't strip them out by the end of such and such a time, then I will throw them on freecycle anyway and they will be gone!
Nice one on the lists too. Keep it up.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
