  • So there I was ... all revved up with a nice follow up post .... and puffffff .... not only did I lose my post ... I lost my internet connection to boot

I will have another quick grumble,,,, and then I will try my best to re-create my lost post.... do my final update for weekly tasks from last week ... do my post for this weeks tasks .... and breath :rotfl::rotfl:

    Grumble time .....

Having lost my internet connection .... I contact provider... am told server issues - we're working on it, back up soon ... okay fair enough ....

Following day .. manage to connect ... check emails ... reminder to pay provider ... log in to provider account ... go to pay .... pffffft ... gone again.

Call provider,,,, told server problems ... okay, annoying but while on phone I'll pay my bill ... oh, no sorry customer - our payment system is down... sigh  and it will be back up when ? .... we dont know, try later ...... later - try again ... still down,,,, call back again tomorrow please :(

Tomorrow comes, I try to go online to do payment .... message saying service suspended - please contact provider

Contact provider ... suspended due to non-payment .... errrrrmmmm - but I couldnt pay - as your systems + server were down each time I tried ... sorry, but tough .... it's automated and we cant over-rule it .... well, I want to pay bill, (done) so now you can remove block yes ? .... oh that can take up to 48 hours

:wall: Finally back tonight (full 48hrs) and all because ... despite systems / server issues I couldnt pay ... yet their automated suspension gizmo still managed to work and then they took the full 48hrs to deal with it :wall:

    And breath again .....

Hi GHA nice going with the lists. And ggrrr about the ticket. I would contest it too. I await the good news with baited breath....

Thanks Chev, I've been pleased with the progress (well until my wee hiccup lol) One update coming as soon as I've finished re-typing it!

I would definitely contest it! Some of these traffic wardens just ticket cars to hit their quota, and those who don't know rules and regs, just pay it. Council is happy, they have made extra money for nothing.

I'm having the same thoughts Aesop, and now that I have returned to the virtual world - I will get the email + photo's prepared & uploaded and send it off.

  • The good bit (albiet belated!)

    Priority Tasks
    2) [STRIKE]C/T credit adjustment follow up[/STRIKE] Contacted today and awaiting replacement info pack.
Received pack with CT credit application form, earnings form & two revised CT bills.

Called to confirm receipt & clairify a couple of bits and turns out some further good news. I somehow have a small credit against one partial bill, which can be transferred / offset against another one (instead of repaid to me I guess):T .

In addition, subject to some extra paperwork submission - there is another amount potentially able to be offset against it too, this amount is quite a bit so am hoping this gets the okay (but not counting chickens just yet) :o.

They have also confirmed that apparently I am likely to be entitled to CT Credit, but couldnt confirm amount until forms completed & returned along with all the info they need (ie bank statements, payslips etc).

I'm sure there was much more I typed before ... but I can't think of the other bits off-hand ... will have to add them to another post if they decide to return from their wanderings back to my mind :rotfl:

  • So here we go then ...

    Priority Tasks
    1) [STRIKE]W/T credit application[/STRIKE] Done & Awaiting Pack arrival. - RECEIVED - Completion booked onto next weeks (well this weeks now!!) task list.
    2) [STRIKE]C/T credit adjustment follow up[/STRIKE] Contacted today and awaiting replacement info pack. RECEIVED & COMPLETED PENDING SUBMISSION AT LOCAL OFFICE WITH ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS - Submission booked onto next weeks list.
    3) Finish Spreadsheets for : - [STRIKE]Spending Diary[/STRIKE] / [STRIKE]Payment Plan (& Regular Payments)[/STRIKE] / £10 A Day Earnings / [STRIKE]Basic H'hold Budget[/STRIKE]

    Secondary Tasks
    4) Mystery Shop re-instatement - Unable to complete due to connection issues
    5) Survey Site re-instatement / re-registration - Unable to complete due to connection issues
    6) Meal Plans (6 months) - In progress .... (couldn't complete in full due to connection issues)
    7) Batch Cook Plans (6 months) - (couldn't start, as item 6 not finished)
    8) Sort Minimum 10 boxes (depending on box size & contents & Kitchen items a priority). 4 Boxes done so far (19/9/11) 5 Boxes done so far (20/09/11) 8 Boxes done (24/09/11) and 2 room shuffles to make space for furniture items to be moved into new positions. (this would've been one of next weeks tasks - but moved forward instead, as un-able to complete some of the other tasks)

    Extra Task
    1) Start Winter Preparation Plan - In progress.

Septembers Debt Buster payment will be £60 towards the smallest debt (half of £120) - On Target.

All in all, not too bad at all. Shame some of it got held up, but I did some other things not on the original list in their place... they ultimately would have gone on either next weeks (well this weeks now :o) list or the next one after ...

A couple of them need to be re-listed for this week, as they will be going towards extra income (£10 a day Challenge).

Rolling, rolling, rolling ... keep the wagons rolling.... and on to this weeks list

    5) [STRIKE]Mystery Shop re-instatement -[/STRIKE] COMPLETED
    6) Survey Site re-instatement / re-registration - In Progress
    7) Meal Plans (6 months) - In Progress still
    8) Batch Cook Plans (6 months) - NOT STARTED
    9) [STRIKE]Room Shuffle / Furniture Waltz [/STRIKE]- COMPLETED (Kitchen)
    Extra Task
    1) [STRIKE]Start Winter Preparation Plan[/STRIKE] - COMPLETED

Decided to leave the “extra task” the same as last week, instead of moving it to the secondary list as I had planned to last week. In order to reduce “Box Hill” to a more manageable size - as it’s already started giving me a headache looking at it all (impatient ? …. Me ? …. Never …..) – I’ve frog-leaped the next “room-shuffle” onto the secondary task list instead. ;)

Two of the items to be moved are book-cases, which then means I can return some of the boxes of books that I keep tripping over – back into their natural habitat once again, and ergo …. Gives me more room, and less rubbish to hurdle over. :rotfl:

Hmmm, I appear to have increased the list number again :o Ahh, well .... all to the good if it gets my butt into gear and keeps it there I guess :rotfl:

That's it for tonight on updates folks ..... think you'll be mightily overdosed by now.:o

well done on everything you have done so far. :j

every thing is a positive step - even one item on your list :j
  • Hello All,

I am a tad pleased, having gone to update the figures owed balances on the Quick Summary Post (# 3 on the thread) and noticed that through various ways .. I've knocked off over £2k from my original Debt amount posted in August :j I really must update this weekly or monthly - along with my signature, which I keep forgetting to do :o

I'm really, really not ungrateful to see that amount of reduction in such a short time, but some of it was down to adjustments and other things - and not all down to me "paying it off", so I guess I don't feel it's such a personal achievement IYKWIM

In other news .... Inroads are being made into this weeks task list, and most of it is either done to the point it can be until the next stage - or is underway and in progress. Which is all good news. :T

I think I may tweek this slightly, as I feel some items will be ongoing / take longer to complete than others and I really don't want to see them rolling forward each week.

I have a Monthly Debt Buster selection, so perhaps a couple of Monthly tasks could fit in here. I'm thinking of the re-registering for surveys etc, as this looks like it will take a while (including starting again with spreadsheets & files) so that could be 1 of Octobers.

I'm also looking at perhaps adding a garden task to that - say clear / plant / whatever - one area for the month, and maybe the same with the house - one room a month until it's usable again ?
I'll then be wanting a breather before I think on the decorating tasks :rotfl: ... will have to think on that last one.

Waiting to hear back on the Tax Credit stuff, with confirmation of any award amounts - Guess the SOA will need redoing (although I did include a couple of conservative estimates on these beginning October).Or - I may wait until the New Year to re-calculate, once I've actually been receiving them for a couple of months ... after all (ssshhhhhhhhh :shhh: ) it's not that far away now

Hope that Companions, Followers & Lurkers are all doing & keeping well :A

well done hun, 2K off your debt is good going. So what if it is a write off, etc.

it is 2K less that you have to pay back :j

you are doing so well

by the way always thought Greyhound was for Greyhound buses in America, have I got it wrong?

:rotfl::rotfl: Well, so they do have - and Canada too .... but that wasn't the quite inspiration for my username ... I am priviledged (sp!!!) to be owned by a couple of rescued Greyhounds :A Hence part of my username:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the bolster Hun, I AM grateful that it's £2k less to pay back, I'm just being a wussy, especially when I read others posts and they've worked so hard to reduce debts - feels a bit "lucky" rather than worked for - if that makes sense ... their hard efforts humble me :o
