So negotiations with the storage items seem to be going about as well as the ones with the jungle were previously, maybe I need a book on negotiation skills …… But, I have at least managed to empty / relocate most of the boxes doing a fine imitation of Peny-Ghent in the kitchen – just a few odd bits that need to be re-housed in one of the cupboards I’ve got left to clear out. :T
And as for the amount of drinking glasses there seems to be (at least 3 boxes + the ones already in the cupboard) – I could open a bar with them. We’ll never, ever use that many & I’m not into the Greek style entertainment of glass smashing – so think the optimum way is to unpack them all; put into sets, pick the best ones & car boot the rest. Failing that it’ll be charity or glass-bank for them.:o
A couple of useful finds: two sturdy metal curtain poles and a box of curtains. With any luck, I’ll have a pair long & wide enough to go across the internal patio doors on one of the discovered poles and a couple/ pair long enough to fit on each of the kitchen & front doors (cunningly recycling the rail currently on the patio doors by cutting to fit the door frames). That’ll leave one pole to use in the main bedroom provided I can find some ring fittings.
I also now have one spare double bed & mattress, and a spare nearly new fridge – both of which can try and find new homes via gumtree and will hopefully gain a little money for the debt kitty, along with anything else similar that I wouldn’t get in the wagon to carboot.;)
Next on the agenda – the water company appears to have been round to assess meter possibilities. Looks like it is possible do put a meter in, but they’ve commented that they need to put in / replace the boundary box … ummmmm, what’s that in idiot’s words ?
As well as attempting to tackle the new refugees in the house, I’m trying to get my money spreadsheets completed and ready for the next payday – I don’t want to have to play catch up later with loads of data input in one go – so that’s one of my ongoing priorities to get done over the next few days.
I’ve decided to set some weekly goals / tasks each Sunday (starting this weekend) to focus my mind on dealing with things. I am going to set 1 or 2 Priority tasks and 5 smaller ones, with the aim of clearing them all by the following Sunday – so, one a day basically … surely that shouldn’t be too much to deal with….. :rotfl:
The next brainwave, is to clear a chunk of 1 debt each month or pay off in full depending on amount. With the new earnings increase, I am set on using the Make £10 a day Challenge money to throw at the debts above the minimum payments.
I may need to put the money into pots until there’s enough to either pay off in full or offer final settlement deals, as I think maybe that if I pay any more than the minimum in any month – they may think I can always do so, which may not always be the case. This will be set on the 1st of each month as my monthly goal.
Not sure if these ideas will work perfectly, but I’ll give them a go and tweak them if needs be. :money:
That’s all for now folks

So here we go then ...
Priority Tasks
1) [STRIKE]W/T credit application[/STRIKE] Done & Awaiting Pack arrival. - RECEIVED - Completion booked onto next weeks (well this weeks now!!) task list.
2) [STRIKE]C/T credit adjustment follow up[/STRIKE] Contacted today and awaiting replacement info pack. RECEIVED & COMPLETED PENDING SUBMISSION AT LOCAL OFFICE WITH ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS - Submission booked onto next weeks list.
3) Finish Spreadsheets for : - [STRIKE]Spending Diary[/STRIKE] / [STRIKE]Payment Plan (& Regular Payments)[/STRIKE] / £10 A Day Earnings / [STRIKE]Basic H'hold Budget[/STRIKE]
Secondary Tasks
4) Mystery Shop re-instatement - Unable to complete due to connection issues
5) Survey Site re-instatement / re-registration - Unable to complete due to connection issues
6) Meal Plans (6 months) - In progress .... (couldn't complete in full due to connection issues)
7) Batch Cook Plans (6 months) - (couldn't start, as item 6 not finished)
8) Sort Minimum 10 boxes (depending on box size & contents & Kitchen items a priority). 4 Boxes done so far (19/9/11) 5 Boxes done so far (20/09/11) 8 Boxes done (24/09/11) and 2 room shuffles to make space for furniture items to be moved into new positions. (this would've been one of next weeks tasks - but moved forward instead, as un-able to complete some of the other tasks)
Extra Task
1) Start Winter Preparation Plan - In progress.
I’ve upped the priority tasks by one this week – as I really need them all either finalised or at least close to it before the end of the month / payday. I’ve also added an extra task to start on this week, which I will be putting on next weeks task list for completion.
Septembers Debt Buster payment will be £60 towards the smallest debt (half of £120) - On Target.
Unfortunately this month, I won’t be able to utilise all my £10 a day earnings this month, as I have to offset some of the money against the Wagon’s work earlier, and I need to Tax it this month too.
So that's my 1st Weekly Targets set, and I'm off to see what damage I can do to task #8 - so that I can be more effective with #'s 6 & 7

oh forgot to tell you
Asdapriceguarantee
if you buy from asda and you have at least 8 comparable items and it is upto asda what these are  then if they are not the cheapest, you are entitled to 10% of the difference back.
http://www.asdapriceguarantee.co.uk/
and with Tesco - the difference
https://www.tescopricecheck.com/PriceCheck/Pages/Default.aspx
if they are not cheaper then Asda - again on items they decide can be included, they will give you a voucher for the difference.
so worth keying in your receipts after each shop0 -

Do have to say ... I was wondering if it was a new dance-craze ... mind you - the way I read it ... it did kinda remind me somewhat of the Shake n Vac advert :rotfl:
Well, I can't believe I'm only a day into my weekly target plan - and I've already got an update to do
Maybe I should've had this brainwave a long time back ... now can someone please explain - just why I didn't ? :think:GreyhoundAngel wrote: »So here we go then ...

So item 1 has been done today, just awaiting the pack and the follow up call which is booked for an undogly time of the morning at the end of the month.
Number 3, One section down, and 4 more to go, to complete the set up of them.
Item 8 - Pleased that I managed to clear 4 boxes yesterday - whilst at the same time emptying / cleaning & re-organising the cupboards they were going into, and cleaning the items (where needed due to being stored) as I went along. I was quite chuffed.
Especially as some of the unpacked boxes also included many time/energy saving tools for my batch cooking AND my Bread Machine got unearthed as well :T:D
Think I shall definately be lurking on some of OS Board threads
Think that covers it for today's update,

Slightly bitter sweet update today in the G'A householdGoing to start with the not so good, then will do a second post with the rest so I can finish on a good note
Somehow managed to get a parking ticket today  Apparently for not parking correctly within the markings of the bay or space .... ummm I was parked on a road, not in a car park. Scenario : The road is a long residential road, with other roads adjoining / crossing it; it has (a) some white marked bay sections, (b) some unmarked at all sections, (c) some unmarked driveway sections and then (d) some double yellow marked sections at random "spacing". eg, white bays, then double yellow, then unmarked drive, then white bay, then no markings with no drive either.
Now, I dont normally park in this road simply because there's never usually a space, I usually end up parking down the adjoining road further up. That road has recently become a nightmare for parking - as the council seem to have decided to reduce / change the parking sections down there by adding new / extending / changing the double yellow lines. Problem is, they've not erased the white parking zones either... and only the driveways have no markings at all, so there are two contradictory markings on the road
So.. anyway, today I was parked in one of the (b) sections on this other road and got a ticket. Yes, it seems from some signage that perhaps I shouldnt have been as there wasnt a white box marked on the road where I parked -: BUT, (excluding the driveways which also have no road markings at all) I WAS parked in one of the sections with no road markings at all - which led me to believe it was okay to do so (ie no yellow lines & not accross a drive). There are several of these "pockets" and every day cars are parked in them.
A visiting relative of one of the houses next to where I parked, came out to see me when I got back to my car. Bless him, he'd actually tried to argue the point on my behalf (complete stranger to me) with the traffic warden - by stating that there was nothing to indicate my car was illegally parked (ie no yellow lines) etc. The TW apparently said they had to ticket, because otherwise they got complaints from the blocks of flats on the opposite side of the road for lack of view
Well, considering this is quite a wide road, and that there are parking bays in very close proximity on each side of the entrances to those blocks ... I would've have said that they was far more likely to hamper their view than someone parked on the opposite side of the road  He did kindly tell me that he visits every other day, and if I contested he would be happy to sign a statement to that effect for me - what a lovely lovely person. :A
So, I AM going to contest it, as at best - the road markings & road signage are ambigious .. and at worst totally contradictory.
Don't take me wrong, if I been parked half in half out of a bay, or on yellows, or accross a drive - that's my own silly fault, but there was nothing on initial look to say you couldnt park there. So, anyway, we shall see what happens.
Enough ranting (long enough me thinks), I want to go do the good bit now

Hi GHA nice going with the lists. And ggrrr about the ticket. I would contest it too. I await the good news with baited breath....
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I would definitely contest it! Some of these traffic wardens just ticket cars to hit their quota, and those who don't know rules and regs, just pay it. Council is happy, they have made extra money for nothing.0
