I once sold a smelly old pair of trainers for £18 that I'd originally bought from Asda three years previous for only £6.....I think the buyer may have had a foot fetish but at that mark up I really don't care!0

Last year I went to a small local awards ceremony held by my local radio station and I picked up a goodie bag on my way out filled with cheap stuff from the sponsors, things like an old Dandy annual, free pens and a B&Q DIY DVD.
I had a look on Want It Now and there was a person in America looking for the B&Q DVD and was more than happy to pay the £4 retail price for it plus postage (though I'd told him I recieved it for free). He was also thrilled that someone was able to sell it to him, even though it was a Region 2!
It seems there's a collector for everything, when I asked about his interest in it he told me that the presenter of the DVD was someone whose work he collected and that he had a small collection of books, DVDs etc that he wanted to complete with it.
It's definitely the more bizarre items that I own that go well! Usually the stuff I recieve for free does the best.Thank you competition posters!

Hubby and I play quite a bit of tennis, so every couple of months or so I get a dozen new balls, by which time the old ones are well and truly knackered! I used to chuck them, until a couple of years ago I listed them on ebay for a laugh, and made more than I bought them for new, crazy! People buy them for their pets I think!!! :T0

This is not an ebay sale - but we did a car boot a few years ago and we had a couple of lightshades for sale. One was a pink pleated M+S one that had cost about £20 was in excellent condition and still in fashion, the other was a cream one from my mums house that was 40+ years old and had paint drips on the top of it - guess which one we sold and which one came home with us!0

Having read a few more pages of this thread it has occurred to me - we all think that the buyers of these obscure items must be mad - I'd be interested to know if anyone has purchased some strange obscure item from ebay and what they wanted it for!0

I bought a 1980's cassette tape of the Santa Clause the Movie soundtrack. It was never re-released and you can't download the tracks anywhere. The tape was so old my stereo ate it. Best Christmas music ever.Debt free as of July 2010 :j

Only for buyers! I'd wait until mid February before selling because everyone over the age of 16 is broke after Xmas.0
