Well I have an auction starting in the next couple of hours for something I'm not sure will sell. Obviously can't give the details of it out on the forums, but will let you know how it went in 10 days time0

How did it go? Can you tell us what it was now?0 -
Love this thread! We sold a broken hoover for a fiver and a rusty table. Buyer collects and I thought they would turn up and refuse to pay. But the ad was honest and they only loved it! There's none so queer as folk hey! Certainly made a difference to our month. OH sold an inversion table that he has tried to get in the car twice to take to the tip. Hats off to you lot, we only got 40 quid for it! Just brilliant. Moving onto the tax discs now. Best of luck to you all!If you knew it then you know it!

I'm thinking of putting a broken power supply unit for a Sky box on there. I bought a refurbished one off of eBay and replaced the broken one with it, and i'm wondering if any of the people who refurbish them would be interested? I've seen broken Sky boxes sell - maybe people are buying them to get the power supply units out?0

I can, indeed. It was broken diecast model aeroplane. I'd had a moment of temper a few years back and thrown it against a wall, and one of the wheels broke off as well as the tail, and part of the wing was bent up. It was ready for the bin, but thought I'd try anyway.
I put lots of photos on the auction showing all the damage and making clear what they were buying. The text I used suggested it would be ideal for someone who had the time to "restore it to its former glory", and lo and behold, it sold for £5.50 plus postage!
Absolutely chuffed!0 -
I had a little dog lifejacket and my husband laughed at me when I took it to a boot fare - but it was one of the first things that sold.0

Watch out for free listing days - save even more money
I sold a old Skoda mug - white with the old skoda logo in blue and red for £12.50!!!!!
People will buy anything - unfortunately it is a bit hit and miss, my tip is - If it doesn't sell the first time keep relisting0 -
Well things I have sold in the past:
Empty Angel perfume bottle
Beswick bird with broken beat (to a restorer - was going to bin)
Old Robinson's golly brooch with no pin - was pre war so went quite well - thought it worth a try.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
