I once sold a mini trampet on Ebay for £20 - it had no legs!! The buyer collected it and was thrilled, apparently he reckoned he could make some......
    Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35
    Now £27,470.20 :T
    57% of debts cleared:beer:
  • I was going through this thread thinking how brill it is and wanted to make a comment. I am a newbie so had to sign in, so I lost this thread. I can't believe I feel such relief at coming back to the thread - who started this thread? You are responsible for another couple of hours of me being on the computer!! Very good thread - I think you should patent it if you can (or sell it on Ebay as a book).:rotfl:

Just managed to sell a door I found in a skip on ebay for a whole 99p with local pick up. That is recycling in action!
Matched Betting Profits since May 2006: £467.33

    Careful Phil,

You can be charged with theft for taking stuff out of skips if you don't have permission. It might have been thrown away but it still isn't yours to take.

    regards

Ive also sold a lot of game/dvd/cd cases!! I removed a lot of my games & dvds and kept them all in a big case wallet for space saving, so I had all the cases - which people buy to replace a lost case.

I've heard elsewhere that the BBC's silvery dvd cases sell well cos you can't buy identical replacements (also because of Doctor Who fans who want to take the dvds out of boxsets and put them into individual cases with fanart sleeves to match the rest of their collection..)

I love this thread! Just when I thought I was running out of things to sell, there's now a whole host of items I might just get a few quid for! At work just now, but when I go home, going to clean up our old TV stand - our daughter "customised" it, shall we say, with a blue crayon but hopefully I can get it off with some cif!! Other than that

Also, our DVD player packed up at the weekend, the lights still come on, but it doesn't seem to function so going to pop that on ebay and see if anyone takes it. Is it best to just start these auctions for broken/faulty items at 99p and see what happens? Obviously I will state it is broken and selling for repair or spares.

Didn't realise bags sold either, so have a few Molton Browns etc that I will stick on and see what happens.

Will be watching this thread with interest to see what other ideas pop up!

Careful when selling carrier bags/boxes... I tried selling my Molton Brown boxes but ebay removed them.... I cant remember the exact reason but I think it was to do with people buying them and using them to sell fake goods!

Hadn't thought of that. Good point. Thanks for the post.
