Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

Hi,
I thought I would try an experiment to see if there is anything people won't buy on eBay. To this end I have put up for auction a sock with a hole in it.
No bids yet but over 50 people have visited the page.
You never know - I may have found a new market."Life's Too Short To Drink Bad Wine"0 -
OMG!! This thread is FAB! :j I am SO inspired to sell, I have TONNES of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] stuff that I'm sure others will love.
And I have also thrown lots of stuff away, like a sky digi box, a water logged phone. Damn! Anyone know when the next 10p listing day is?? Better get cracking on Turbo Lister :T
What with a secret £6k debt and a wedding coming up - I could seriously do with this.0 -

Hi Faye,
From what I recall they annouce some sort of special offer ever 2 weeks or so. Such as 5p days, half price listings or free pictures.
That said there hasn't been anything in April yet
Hopefully something will come along soon."Life's Too Short To Drink Bad Wine"0 -
I thought there was one due as there hadn't been for a while.
I always get done on EBay and Paypal fees and then kind of end up running about even. I am determined not to do that now!0 -
I am AWE inspired by this thread! Myself and Sig Other decided to have a big clear-out, and try to sell some of our *ahem* unwanted items on e-bay. (Well, if someone buys it for you, you have to be polite about it!)
But right now, I'm off to check the completed items, to see if any of the stuff I would have chucked/recycled/donated is worth anything to anyone. Hmmm, empty bottles....lot's of empty bottles!0 -

Hi Jo,
Urggh.
Well if there are people out there who want to give me their money then who am I to object?"Life's Too Short To Drink Bad Wine"0 -
I've done lots of selling on ebay over the past few years although this thread has opened my eyes to new possibilities. I'm certainly going to sell the 12 old tax discs nestling in the tax disc holder of my car.
Anyway, I find that it's not worth selling stuff unless you're pretty sure it's going to go for over about £3 because of the cost of listing fees and final value fee and then the paypal fees (which seem to be huge, especially if people pay with credit cards). how do you guys make money out of stuff that only sells for about £1?MS Stalwart. Volume. Selling lots of things that only make about a quid in profit, the money still adds up.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0
