Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

I have sold not one, not two, but three empty boxes on ebay.
All sold seperately, and all heavily advertised that they were empty mobile phone boxes, and all you got was the box will no contents.
Gah - I have chucked so many mobile boxes into the recycling *kicks self*£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

if anyone doesn't know already if you search in 'advanced search' click 'completed listings' and it will show what similar items have sold for in the last couple of weeks. gives you a better idea of prices things will sell for as many people hang off bidding until last few minutes

Wow I just had a look and mobile phone boxes are selling. You know I am rifling through hubby's bits and pieces as I type in search of old phone boxes. Thank you smi1er for the handy tip.
Also thanks to this thread my 8gb damaged screen ipod nano is listed and already has 13 watchers and I have had two BIN offers of £20 and £30 so I guess it must be repairable.
More funds for my Sahara trek fundraising target......bring it on!!!!My mantra is "Never pay full price!"0 -
Been reading this thread for a few days now and decided that as me and e-bay have never really got on (never managed to sell anything) I'm going to list 2 items and see how they sell. The first item is an empty mobile phone box and the second item is a bottle of perfume, opened but only used once. Wish me luck guys, your stories are spurring me on here.0

Hi,
To answer Jane's question about the sock I put it under mens accessories. I won't put the hyperlink here because it'll count as advertising.
I tried to avoid direct fetish references in the description but people will read into it what they want.
Good idea about the boxes. I'm sure I found my old mobile box the other day."Life's Too Short To Drink Bad Wine"0 -
wow good tip about the empty mobile phone box, will be listing mine later today.
Managed to sell an empty perfume bottle for £12 and a small Agent provocateur paper bag for £4 last week0 -
I have a strange thing I'm wanting to sell, and I know nothing about it. About 20 years ago my uncle gave me a bag of records, old cine films etc, most worthless, but one of them is a boxed 1942 film 'Happy Times and Jolly Moments' in perfect condition.
I had it put onto video and was amazed to see Charlie Chaplin. After doing some research, I found it was one of his very very early works.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it valued properly?0 -
Hi,
It could be a bit of a collectors item. Maybe the British Film Institute could help.
Oh - don't forget that early celluloid film is flamable so keep it safe."Life's Too Short To Drink Bad Wine"0 -
