We have just sold an old (1949) American Dachshund yearbook which someone we used to work with was putting in a skip.

It is a bit tatty but has sold for £12.50!

Ridiculous ebay items is one thing, but it costs to put them up! i wonder why people do this sometimes. I notice that the toe stitches thing sold for 99p the other day!

The funniest one I saw (for me) was last year..
Some bloke was selling his.. ermmm *stuff* for £250!

On his item description he described how he would post it etc.. haha In an ANADIN pot! :rotfl: On the heading of the page it said..

    *Suitable for gay couples* :rotfl:

But the bit that made me laugh the most was when I clicked *See other items this seller has for sale* (or whatever its called)...

it had *Five pics of my girlfriend* £2.50p
    hahaha..
His *stuff* was worth £250!! :rotfl:
His GF (in the pics) was just sat there in jeans and jumper with a bag of crisps with Enders on in the background.. hahaha

You can literally sell old rope on there. Do a search, there's always some on there....

dont forget with greenmetropolis you recieve £3 ut need to take postage off of that. Probably not a good idea for large hardbacks as it would probably cost more than that to post
greenmetropolis offer the opportunity to add extra postal charges for heavy books

But it seems a bit dodgy at the moment, the ISBN you enter seems to provide the extra postage option only if it feels like it. I have a medium sized HB book to post, and it offers no options, so i would be forced to put it up for £3.

If it doesn't provide extra option for heavier books you can email and notify them of amount of pages or weight if known and they may be able to alter the price required on it

  • hi, have just signed up to ebay (through pigsback) because of this thread - i have a ton of 'junk' i would love to sell including 2 Billy Elliott Programmes from the theatre production which i thought i'd use as my first sales.

I have a stoopid question though - i have no idea what to list it under, can anyone help?

Thank you to the op - fingers crossed i can make some money :)
  • If you start selling it will give you te option to put in what you have and pick several catagories - you then pick the most relevant one - Good luck!
