If you put them under celebrity tv chefs they might well go well. One Rick Stein book (original price£4.99) is now going for £6.50 with a couple of days to go. Have another look perhaps?

I see. I only mention it cos we are in the process of arranging our wedding, and the costs are astronomical. I suggested haggling over the price of the photography, and my OH was horrified. Why not? Photographer quotes say £900, we suggest £800, take it from there. My OH reacted as if was suggesting we pay in sexual favours or something!

 how much!! my OH would go mental if i suggested paying that much for photography! we've asked family friend whose work we've seen before and are waiting to hear, but another alternative we've considered is asking at our local art college for a student who could add our pictures to their portfolio after and having cameras (tesco do them at £2.47 but i reckon i can find them cheaper) on tables for guests (truprint & other cos do v cheap processing) You should take a look at the wedding forum on here somewhere, it's got great cost cutting tips...although being the eversoregularmoneysaver you are i bet you've already scouted that thread :T

Yep.. I went to a friends wedding last Christmas and they had put dispo cams on each of the guest tables.. with a little sticker on them saying.. *Please take a Picture and pass me on*

They got some GREAT photos doing that.
Also.. short of being able to get hold of a photog student to do the pics for you.. (great idea!).. How about a friend you may know who is pretty good at takign snaps.. yanno.. a hobby. They may love the oppotuinity.. and do it partly as a wedding gift to you. :)

This thread has got me PILING stuff onto Ebay today haha.. Ive had enough now.. Ive listed 20 items.. a few paperbacks, old camera.. PDA.. games dvds Cds (thanks to the person that told us about the 5p listtings today for dvds and cds!) :j  :T

Ive got loads of stuff that I could sell, especially soft toys whish I used to collect when I was little. They are all gathering dust in the loft.
It will break my heart to sell them, but, needs must.

Some of them are quite large, and I know this might sound really stupid, but, how would I package them up, and also, how do you know how much the postage will cost?

Ive received stuff like that in neatly packaged pieces of bin bag. (more flexible than paper)
If you pull a bin bag off the roll, you can cut off the bottom where the seam is.. and cut up the side.. cut across the top so its (mostly) straight.. open it out.. et voila! Nice shiny smooth black.. packaging :)

Who thought I was gonna say skin then?

  • thanks everyone i think i might give e-bay another go ..I think the postage put me off the last time to because a lot of the books are very heavy so i think the postage was putting people off and i kept it to the penny i wasnt over charging or anything...some books that cost £10 + i was starting at 99p but beacuse they were big or heavy the postage was a bit off putting.
