I've still received no notification of the free listing weekend, and nothing shows up on any of my Ebay pages. I have got a couple of scheduled items, (scheduled for 3 weeks time, but in reality for this weekend). Would that stop them applying the free listing weekend to me. I've searched everywhere and can find no indication that I'VE got free listings this weekend.

I also had problems logging on yesterday morning, but was fine the rest of the time for me.
If you go to the home page of Ebay it should show you it's a free listing weekend. I've just listed my items.;)

Things I never thought I could sell - a USED epilator! Got several bids and about 42 watchers. I've tripled checked the listing but I do say in it a couple of times that the item is used.

I have one that's been languishing in a drawer for years - used once (no...too painful) - how old was/is yours? I'll give it a go, trying to sell!

Not sure how old mine was, maybe a year old. It sold for £43!

We've just sold a 40" Samsung TV, which wasn't working.

    Received £60.

  • Do you need to ebay internationally to sell clutter? Or do you have plenty of bidders from UK only?
  • Unique items tend to go better when sold internationally.

Stuff you might be able to buy on the high street, I find it tends to sell fine in the UK.

I sell occasionally and always restrict to UK only.

Generally no problems selling. Sold a faulty TV last week and received a reasonable price.

    Good luck

I always offer international shipping unless the item really is too large and I mean huge.

The potential market is increased significantly when you are prepared to send things abroad. In my day job we use eBay a lot and about 50% of what we sell goes abroad. Remember the more people that see your item, the more people will bid and that generally results in higher prices.

Just be careful about postage when offering international. Royal Mail have a 2 kilo limit so if the packed weight is under that then use Royal Mail. If it is over 2 kilos use something like parcel2go.com but tell your buyers to ask for a price before bidding as every country is a different price with the courier companies.

Weigh your item prior to listing and work out what the final packed weight will be. Don't underestimate this.

When you have you final packed weight, just add the price for that to your listing.

One thing to watch out for: eBay are introducing a new rule where they will now charge private sellers fees on not just the selling price but the shipping price as well. They claim this is because a lot of private sellers are making the shipping price very high to try and circumvent eBay fees. Personally, I don't see evidence of this, I think it is just a tactic by eBay to increase their prices.

I now work out what it will cost me to post an item and add 10% to account for this eBay theft...!

    regards
