They will charge you if you don't sell so ya best off looking for the special days wheres it's only 10p to list things when ya selling bits n bobs, that way if it does'nt sell, ya not losing out on much.

Thanks for that - but am I right in thinking that their normal listing charge is 15p ? If that is the case then i dont mind losing the 5p extra

Yes, if you start at 99p the insertion fee is only 15p (it rises with the starting price).

There is also a Final Value fee to pay either way if your item does sell.

OMG I'm so glad I read this thread!
I've got like a zillion carrier bags, including macy's, bloomingdales, paul smith, hugo boss etc. E bay here I come.
There's also a full year of Good Food magazines, sat here next to me that someone might want...... (It was a gift subscription that cost me nothing)
  • OKG, this thread is brilliant! Earlier today I listed my old sky plus box ( they go for £50 upwards apparently) a pair of flippers (I only needed the snorkel they came with and they were reduced from £48 to £10), some old D&G glasses and some shoes...but now I am going aroud the house again for rubbish! Anyone know how often the 10p listing days come up? Also, do you all list on ebay or ebay uk...is there a big difference?

    A couple of questions though
    1) What is the BIN in ebay ?
    2) If I list an item for 99p and it doesnt sell do I still pay the charges on it or will ebay charge only if I sell ?
BIN stands for Buy It Now, which means that the seller can sell it for a fixed price.
If it doesn't sell you will still pay the charges, but you can relist it for free and if it sells the second time you will only pay one lot of charges.
    Hope this makes sense.
Good luck with your sales and make lots of money!

The thing that I listed for a joke was 2 old copies of "Heat" magazine as I was just about to throw them away, I advertised them as "well read condition" and put celebrity names in the title. I sold them for double their cover value! Amazing what some people buy!!!!

Not ebay, but related..when I did a car boot sale last year, I took an old copy of FHM that my housemate had left in the loo, just so I had somthing to read if there were no buyers. I was quite suprised when a guy offered me £1 for it!
