Well done. Pleased for you lozza. Am always reading about ways to get more customers so I'm glad to see this really works. What note did you place on front to explain they weren't the current prices. ??

Well done again :-)

I never recommend it when you're first starting out, but after say 6 campaigns, its well worth doing, as means you aren't spending much time (you don't need to go back to collect the books!), doesn't cost much as they're books you'd throw away otherwise, and means people know there is still an avon rep for their street.

I use the following:
Calling all old/new Avon customers!
Avon has celebrated its 125th year!

Here’s a slightly out of date brochure to give you an idea of Avon products/prices.

I run a loyalty scheme where you get a FREE GIFT with every 6 orders that you place with me, plus throughout the year I run exclusive offers!

If you’d like to see a current catalogue (with no obligation to order) please contact me, Laura on:
home number /mobile number
email address

(If this is of no interest, please accept my apologies for bothering you and kindly recycle/dispose of the book.)

I do 6 to a page, and just staple one to the front of each brochure.

This month's been really tough, found it really hard working full time as well as trying to get avon done, down to part time hours next week, so hopefully that'll give me more time to focus on my avon. Still got some books out that I said I'd collect last Wednesday, spent the night in a&e so I went to collect them the day after but some people weren't home, so I definitely need to go back today.
• I put 50 books out the other day and asked them to be left out on Monday just gone. I went to collect them and only 11 were left out. I didn't knock on as I had my 2 yr old helping me in her pram and I don't think it looks good the first time you canvas someone that you have a child in tow. Once I meet them a few times maybe.
How am I best to get thenrest of the books back and does any one know of a not I can post through asking they be left out on a certain day again. First rime done his street and don't want to look unreliable.

Notes for stragglers

Just something simple:

Hello, I called to collect your brochure. I'll call back on __________ Please leave it outside for collection so that I don't disturb you.

Thank you.

When saying when you'll call back be specific with a day and even a time (like an hourly or two-hourly slot). If you put "tomorrow" and people don't pick up the note until the following morning there's room for confusion.

You could even add that you have to pay for the books so appreciate getting them back.

Another option is an opt-out box on the reminder note. I did this and got a lot of ticks this way from people who hadn't also ticked the much bigger, more obvious tick-box attached to the brochure.

Last call note

I only attempt to collect books once so I don't use the straggler note above any more. So my first attempt is also my last, but on your last trip out for books leave a note saying exactly how to order. Again I'm specific with a date and time so once 7pm on Tuesday passes, for example, I know I can press submit on my order. Everyone knew they had to ring or e-mail before that time. Put your contact details on this note even if they're already on the order form.

Order confirmation note/text/e-mail

Once you've got orders get in touch a couple of days before delivery to tell people when you'll be calling and how much their order is. Again, repeat your contact details so people don't have an excuse for not being able to get in touch to re-arrange delivery.

Avon calling cards

I make all my notes in Word but Avon sell calling cards (code in HT). I think they have a tick-box so you can say "I called to.... (a) deliver an order (b) collect your book etc..."
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Thanks alot for that I am doing the rest but this above bit is a new bit of info I'll file in Avon tips in my notes. When I read something special I copy paste in notes that way I can refer really quickly to it. For inspiration.

Wondered of any one would like if I copied it , it may repeat a few things though, would that matter?

No that sounds great, I can always add a shortcut to it on the first post so that people can find their way to your post quickly. like I've done for other hints & tips posts.

• Here goes.......

AVON TOP TIPS!

1.
!How many houses and How many books do you order?
I have about 120 houses and have several old reps customers of reps who have left my team and I've kept some of their customers. I order 20 books a campaign, but i use 20 back campaign books as well, so I hand out about 40 books. I hand out my books twice in a campaign. This covers all my customers and gives me some extra books to try and get new customers from those on my territory that don't already order from me.
!
Leah Gent (Sales Leader)

2.
Say !it's Campaign 4: With my "don't throw away" notes on the front I could put out 40 C4 books in week 1 of the campaign and expect to get 35 back. I'd re-use those 35 in week 2 and get 30 back. Re-use those 30 in week 3 and get 26 back. I'd have covered 40 + 35 + 30 = 105 houses. Then it's the end of the campaign and the 26 C4s I've got left turn into backorder books in C5. I can still put them out onto new streets. So I do the same again: week 1 put out 26 get 23 back, and so on... During C5 you can give C5s to the interested people you found during C4. You'll end up with part of your territory seeing the current brochure, and part seeing the backorder one.
!
3.
!! ! ! !We offer New Customers
!
!! ! ! ! ! !10% off your first order
!! ! ! ! !10% off if you introduce another customer (max !50% off )
!! ! ! ! ! !friendly advice and samples of products
!! ! ! ! ! !regular deliveries and collection
!! ! ! ! ! !free entry into super Christmas Draw when you spend £10 + ! !

5.AVON PARTY :!

I've got some games planned, mostly thanks to the wonderful ppl on here who have shared things with me.
Made my own avon quiz.
Im printing and laminating the make up guide for customers to see (see training and development).
I'm making up a raffle prize with 99p brochure items and cheap clearence.
Bought a few of those christmas tree bubble baths for spot prizes.
Got some wine!

6.
How about giving points to the people wearing certain items of jewellery e.g !5 points for a bracelet, 10 points for a necklace etc! Anybody wearing something from the latest Avon range gets double points - the person with the most points wins a prize!

7.!
Hi, I'm doing my first party in a couple of weeks and have chosen two party games - one is a brochure quiz, which means they'll have to look through the brochure to get the answers (cunning lol).
!I'm also holding a raffle.....

8.!
Explode your Avon Skin Care Sales
I have recently been trialing a way to boost my skin care sales and I'm excited to let you in on a method that has been hugely successful for me.

This method is for your regular customers or friends and family that you know and trust.

Ask them if they would mind trialing a range of skincare products for you for seven days. You'll give them the products one week and pick them up the following week and they will report on how they liked the products.!

Give them a fullsize brand new cleanser, toner and moisturiser. I like to put them in a little clear bag to keep them all together (and it makes them look better).

What usually happens is that the customer falls in love with the products and asks if she can keep/buy them. In fact I've tried this with over twenty customers in the past month and only two returned the products to me! (Return any used products to Avon so you are not out of pocket yourself).

This method works especially well for the higher end skin care products such as the Anew & Clinical ranges.

No idea about being reimbursed - but when I registered they told me about filling in that form to claim exemption - as I work full time I already paid NI through my wages, as I won't earn that much on my avon theres no point me paying twice.

You could apply to be exempted - but - it could be worth you paying NI in order to mean that you are able to claim for certain things, whereas if you didn't pay NI you wouldn't be able to. Obviously depends upon your circumstances but might be worth looking into more before you just stop paying it entirely.

Thanks Lozza. I never knew anything about that form until now. I paid NI in my regular job though and my maternity allowence has been based on that. Avon is my only income and I make about £30-£50 a camp profit on average a camp so in my eyes it isn't worth paying the NI.
