    Hello,

I'm back and pleased to see that the products were delivered to an alternative address and all are present (apart from 2 things I ordered for myself from sale).

My AM let me down again - she promised to leave c17 brochures for me and didn't! So I ended up coming from my short holiday and having no brochures until I go out and try to get some c16 back from the customers tomorrow.
I also had an email from my AM a couple of weeks ago stating that if we achieve £148 she will give us free perfume and some samples and of course no sign of either:mad:

Somebody said on here that we can claim more if we pay NI contributions - can you please explain what expenses can be claimed if we pay NI contributions as opposed to when we don't pay?

I wanted to find and send off the form to say I won't earn above the treshold and am opting out but haven't managed - hope I won't get fined for delay!

It'd be good to add somewhere on the front page all the things that are our costs and can be claimed.

Do you claim petrol when you deliver to friends and family? I combine it with visits but sometimes it feels like more for Avon than to spend time with a friend.
I haven't been recording milage so neet to work it out.

But at least I have created a detailed spreadsheet to keep a record.
  • Are those your real email address and phone number in that post? If so I'd remove them- you don't know what kind of weirdos could be looking at it? :)

I understand your concern , thank you, but no different to when people see them on leaflets I've left in places already . Thanks anyway

Doesn't mean you can claim for more expenses it's to do with being able to claim for pensions etc as sometimes you need to have paid a certain about of NI to qualify for various things.

Not happy to add it to the first post, as it's more a tax/benefits thing and that depends on people's circumstances and as I'm not qualified to offer advice people are better ringing up and asking when they register as self employed.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

    It's massively diffferent.
Anyone on the site (or possibly internet) can get to your details.
I can't see that's the same as leaving it on someone's doorstep where even one nosey parker is unlikely.

I have left leaflets in the local chippy , doctors, chemist etc . Posters in shop windows near me and in other community visited places. So it's open to people from all walks seeing it . The email is just used for business and so is the mobile.

    I got them especially .

I have seen some reps who leave a landline on their fatalities to me that is far worse as that can be located to an address.

I don't want to be seen to being ungrateful for your advice. It's all welcome. Xx

  • I recieved a free Anew product this delivery, at first I thought it was sent in error but its on the order form in the free section (maybe because I got HOV on first campaign?)
    anyway would you
    - keep it as a sample,
    - keep it new in the hope someone orders it and I can then take the full £25 from it,
    - or run a prize draw everyone who orders gets name in a hat and if they win they get the product.

    What do you think?
  • I used mine as a gift for a family member who had a birthday . Killed two birds with one stone, didn't cost me to buy a present and opened the way to telling them I did Avon and open them up to different products that they may buy again .

It is because you achieved HOV - you should have a little leaflet which tells you what freebie you get in the first 6 campains if you place an order and the freebie will differ depending on whether it's LOV or HOV - if you had below £148 you'd get free samples instead.

I am intending to keep mine and re-sell or have it as an emergency present. I know others have sold theirs.

I'd say it's too expensive to give it as a prize in a draw but the choice is yours.

I understand you don't fee qualified to advice. That's fine. Nonetheless it's one of frequently asked questions and I kept searching through forum several times trying to find relevant bits of info. I ended up coping and pasting to a word doc so that I can have this info at hand and check if necessary with self-employment help line.
I must have been unlucky when I called them as the guy I spoke to was rather unhelpful and sounded totally bored. All I got out of the conversation with him was that I can fill in the form to avoid paying NI contributions.

Was supposed to go out tonight to deliver my products and give out brochures but it's halloween - people may not want to open their door!! But I did say I would devliver on 31st...
  • Hiya - I am a regularly reader but don't often post but have a query and wondered if anyone could help. I am submitting my order tonight and when I look at my subtotal the xmas advent trees are showing as earning 0.00 - do we not earn anything from selling these?
