i thought 03 was a freephone number!
No !!!
Freephone numbers in the UK have a prefix of either 0800 or 0808 , and a few are still operating on 0500.
Useful tool for checking UK numbers http://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm
Useful work around so you can ring them at no extra charge from your mobile. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cut-cost-0800-mobiles0 -

Yeah it was fab thanks, lots of people didn't turn up in the evening who said they would - but - the important people were there so we didn't miss them lol. Just waiting to get some pics of the photographer - should be some funny ones as it had been raining all morning so after the ceremony I put my Wellies on for going about on the grass! As mil said it wouldn't have been me otherwise, me and high heels don't mix very often.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Yes, that's what this AM suggested but the whole point of me doing Avon is so that I can up my hours to 16 a week so that I don't lose my tax credits. I was in a job that was 16hrs a week exactly - now coming to an end next week and the new contract is for 7.5hrs so need to find another 9.5 in a week.
Since you need the working hours now, I'd say stay signed up in your current Avon area. Work the territory you have (unless you're worried about personal safety) for a few months and if that doesn't improve ask for it to be de-allocated. In the meantime ask for extra streets in your area. If you have to ask for your current streets to be de-allocated in the end, ask for some replacement streets if you'd still like to work territory.
Your university sounds like an ideal spot to find customers. I can't imagine halls of residence showing on SMA. The only problem with unis is that they can be a bit funny about what happens on their land. They might let you have a table out once a week in the union building - people could browse there or take books away with your contact details, and you'd use that as a collection spot for orders.
Put up posters everywhere you're allowed on campus. If they're free, even if they don't bring in many customers, at least you haven't lost out.
Ask people in your workplace to show friends and family, provide them with an extra book and order form.
If you're able to build a network and don't mind a bit more travelling, territory isn't the be-all and end-all. Plus, if it's only the hours you need (rather than the earnings) there are plenty of non-territory options that could fill your time.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Thank you, thak you so much. I feel so down that it lifted me a bit. I am struggling to finish off my PhD, lecturing part time, doing estate agency job on Saturday and no time for anything else, including my 3-year-old.
I got stressed out with this area, I was scared to walk in some of the places allocated and when I went out to collect books some people who opened the doors where drunk and very unpleasant, including one obviously mentally ill woman - when she opened the door the smell was so horrible I thought I'd either throw up or faint, I couldn't help thinking she had a dead body in that flat!
I got a few more streets now so will give it a go. The university has not objected so far - Iput advert on the staff website a few times but no response. My colleagues from the office I work said they will order. I don't want to be putting adevrts on the corridors as I also teach - I wouldn't want my students to come and ask for a brochure - that would be unethical as I have to mark their work, if you see what I mean. So I think I will navigate around my colleagues and see if I can build on that.
I called Avon today and as you said it's impossible to change area - you are allocated by postal address, which is quite unhelpful. It's a shame but there you go. I was ready to cancel my contract today but I will give it a go and see if I can get at least £78 order before Monday.
Congratulations Lozza!!! Sounds like you had a fab wedding.
Well done bezybee:T0 -
One more question - my delivery date is on 26th which is in the middle of half term and we will be abroad. Can I change the delivery date? Or can I ask them to deliver to another address?
What do you do in such situations?
Thank you0 -
Just a little question - am i allowed to have a stall at my daughters xmas fate. I am unsure as not sure if i have heard that your not allowed to do take money for goods and delivery them within 24 hours. Something to do with door to door sales or something? If i am allowed, do they work out profitable? I would be spending £5 on table so guess i only have to sell a few bits to make money, plus may get some more customers. Do i charge book price or slightly lower? And what things do you think sell best? Sorry turned out i had a lot of questions to ask after all:)Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

The delivery date can't be changed but you can choose a new delivery address. I'm not 100% sure how you do it, but if you do make sure both Avon and your courier company have the new address so there's no crossed wires. Unfortunately this is also an area effected by Avon's area boundaries, and couriers won't deliver to an address that's outside the boundary. Get your ASM to check whether your chosen alternative address is okay first. Reps on Connects have set a new address, delivery day has come and gone, and only after chasing up the couriers do they find out it couldn't be delivered out of area.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here.
