So long as your returns are packaged up with a copy of the returns form inside and the barcode label on the outside - it doesn't matter what they are packaged in. And yes, if your balance is clear you'll just end up with credit (which will show online as -£x amount), so you'll have less to pay on your next campaign.

You can package them up in whatever you like. The other week I helped the courier bring my books in (I'd ordered 200 and he had to park across the road instead of outside) and in the back of the van were returns in asda bags and all sorts. I have some mail bags left over from when I ebayed so I'm using those up at the minute. I also have some empty boxes kept back incase I need to return bulkier/heavier stuff. I just use them to store bits and pieces of stock/books/deliveries. My house is full of re-purposed delivery boxes :rotfl:

Wow 200 books you must be very busy. Is that just one campaign books or several campaigns ordered in a row?

That's 200 individual books so 40 packs of one campaign. I was recanvassing my entire territory. I cover an area where lots of people are related or are really good friends and a few of them got a bit peeved with me that they got different books, especially when what they wanted to order was cheaper in their relatives/friends book. I find it easier to just occasionally order loads of books and recanvass the entire territory (minus 'black listed' addresses) so I don't end up with complaints. It also means its easier for me to put orders through if all the customers have 1 book but that's just me being a bit lazy when it comes to doing the creative ordering. :o I'm now down to approximately 70 books (14 packs) which is almost double what I was ordering before I recanvassed.

Yes I'm definitely going to switch to the "intensive blitzing" approach to re-canvassing. I've done it thoroughly for the past few years, but always a bit at a time (well, still quite a large bit at a time!) and it just felt never-ending. I've decided to not do any more between C2 and about C15/C16 of next year. So all the houses will still be covered as often as they would have been anyway, just all at once. I used to do "unresponsives" every 6 months but they're the worst for turning into customers. I think only a handful ever have. So they can be done once a year. And then people who said no outright, I'd rather leave it at least a year with them anyway so as to not annoy people.

It's going to feel very odd to do just regulars!
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

  • Hello everyone

I am an old rep recently re-recruited, I just can't stay away :o

I gave it all up last year for various reasons, moved from Leicester to Lincolnshire and bumped into a recruiting leader. I know next to no one having only been here 5 months but have been given a small patch.

From looking on my leaders map, there seems to be a few reps around my little village, fingers crossed the majority are F&F. However, I have encountered a rep covering my territory. I canvassed anyway and walked away with 8 customers thus far, with the last of my books to come in Monday, Fingers crossed for £150+, it is looking promising.

I'm hoping the rep on there pushes back a little with my persistence. I don't like to tread on toes, we're all here for the same reason. Those I have come across who order from her I've encouraged to remain doing so.

Though it does go to show that canvassing and re-canvassing is key!

So again helloooo from me and may the Avon fairies bring you fab campaigns :)

Hi Sherry, hopefully you'll find that the rep used to cover the street but knows it's been removed from them (or gave it back). If they were canvassing wherever they liked then they (a) shouldn't have done that anyway and (b) can't complain if a rep is allocated those streets and starts working them. You're doing the right thing by not insisting customers switch to you so they can't complain.

The other option is that they think the streets are genuinely theirs. This could be an issue (nobody's fault) so try to get their name and phone number and ask the ASM to double-check they know what's going on. I recently had a single street (surrounded by other ones I do) disappear off my allocation. I'd been re-canvassing as normal and months had gone by before I realised. I still haven't seen evidence the other rep is working there but nevermind.
