A area manger is meeting me tomorrow to join the world of Avon, so excited. What happens at the meeting when they get you started to sell Avon?0

if you are not going to be earning enough to pay tax then can you claim any expenses back such as purchase of brochures, ink, printer costs or can you only claim a portion of those costs if you are earning enough to pay taxes.
Regardless of whether you're going to earn enough to pay taxes or not, claim the full cost of any business expenses. EDIT: Capital Expenses are slightly different. You can choose to claim the costs of those spread out over more than one year. I've never done this, though, and always claimed the full cost of capital expenses in one go in the tax year they were bought.
The only time you wouldn't claim the full cost is if you use something partly for personal reasons. For example, my husband uses his mobile phone 80% for business. So I work out 80% of each mobile bill he gets and put that down as his mobile expense.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Welcome to the world of Avon. Your meeting should be to discuss how it works, what you need to do, they should give you allocated territory if you are going to do that and not just friends and family and just ask any questions to them that you may be unsure of. I had a list ready lol. Find out how long the current campaign has left to run and ensure you have enough time to get some orders in. if you only have a wk left then see if you can be signed up to start on the next campaign. You will get 2 sets of brochures free to start up with and hopefully they will give you brochure bags, order forms and everything you need to get started straight away. You will be talked through setting up your avon account online (i was) when you agree to sign and become a representative. Simple really just get them to explain everything to you clearly. If they don't, then everyone on here gives very good info so feel free to ask anythingMost importantly good luck and welcome to the club lol

I dont know if i was very lucky but I did get a call from the courier on my first order to confirm they were delivering the next day and that it would be between 7am-12pm. I however have never received a call since so maybe they were just overly generous that day.
Im sure if there is any issue with delivering they will go back to Avon if they dont have your number but think positive and it will all be ok
I don't know the name of the courier I have all i know is its a yellow van and not a massive named company as in I don't instantly recognise the name.
Sorry I completely missed this reply some howbut all was fine he went to avon and got my number.
x
Just been sorting out my orders. A family friend said that was the worst part when she was doing it... I LOVE it!Next mission is to stop spending all my earnings... or I just need to add more to my mums shopping list like my sister did
Still waiting for my campaign 16 brochures thoughgoing to email the lady who signed me up chase her up about it
feel just found her emails about my account number and first order in my junk folder
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

I so wish I'd seen this before I started! I started with just 5 days left in a campaign eek! But all was good
The only thing I would add is my experience was slightly different only in that I live really rural so internet/phone signal is really poo and the online stuff couldn't be done, so she simply took my details and set up my account when she got home then text my account number to me. But she explained everything brilliantly left me with my books for my first campaign and is hopefully dropping off my books for my second campaign soon
she did say she would bring them this week but busy lives and all that but she's super lovely so I don't mind a little wait plus I think I'd rather give people a week or so break between campaigns so I don't feel like I'm forcing it down their necks bless 'em!
I'd really recommend giving territories and F+F a long think... I went F+F only and already thinking maybe I should have asked for a territory... meh, maybe next time I'm kinda shy and not very good at making a getaway once people start talking think the old dears could keep me trapped there for hours lol!
Seriously you have already done the best thing ... finding this thread! as you can probably tell from the last couple pages I've already pestered them loads for their fountains of wisdom :P

Well I won't be on here as regularly for a while - baby decided to put an appearance in 4 weeks early. She's perfect, weighs 5 pound 11 and a half, called Mackenzie Elsie
hopefully be home soon, they just need to monitor her blood sugar with being a bit prem but she's doing fab so far
and bless her she arrived the day after doing avon deliveries so we haven't got a load of orders hanging around lol
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Congratulations Lozza.
Had to laugh at the baby's good timing - hopefully she'll fit in with things just as nicely from here on in to make things as easy as possible for you.
