  • Thanks for your help Marsden & Hotpot :)

I have been just posting the books in - with a cheery note attached (and spend £20 get a free gift), but that hasn't helped at all.
I think another downside is I've tended to go in the morning when the 'service' entrance button lets me in. When I've gone after 6pm and at weekends I've had to stand about for ages until someone comes past and lets me in! (The buzzer doesn't seem to work/I just get ignored haha)

    Very uncomfortable!

I just feel I'm being very negative about the whole thing. I'd love to do well.
I can't take the books to work as we are a charity & I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to 'sell' for another company there. Also, I don't have any female friends which is a big pain when it comes to Avon!

Just feels like I'm putting in time & effort (writing out the order forms, planning my route, trying to collect books) and all for nothing! :o

Will gladly help if you can post up a postcode somewhere near you (or PM me if you prefer). Strangely enough we're in the same Division (Eros) even though am in Devon..... that doesn't help me find your ASM though.

OK, deffo sounds like you have the right work ethic to succeed so you just need a bit of help/encouragement. Don't give up; Avon is a numbers game. Think of every No in terms as one nearer to your next Yes.

A few thoughts about your workplace:

    * Why not ask if you can help raise funds for the charity via your Avon business e.g. 10% on all orders, supply a prize and do a raffle, lucky dip (buy items out of HT clearance and mark the price up so both you and the charity benefit)
    * In C17 we can buy 6 mascara's for £12 again (+ we can always buy the loyalty pack - 5 supercurlacious mascara's for £10) - just give your female colleagues the 'nod' that you can get Avon mascara's for £4 but strictly on a 'first come first served' basis.... ;)

Are you on Facebook? If so, are you making use of your POB/virtual brochure? All details are on your homepage of your Avon website. Just post your link to FB and offer a free gift/discount for orders via your virtual brochure.

Empathise with you re. the flats - have personal experience too. If there's a warden, go and introduce yourself. (Am a big believer in 'knocking and asking' rather than 'stuffing and running' but there are pro's and con's to both ways.) Depends too whether you're in a city or village/small town. There's no one 'right way'. It's an asset where I live to be able to offer local territory to a new rep but in bigger cities that is deffo NOT appealing! (Took me a while to cotton on to that....) :rotfl:

Sorry, peeps, for the long post but hope that helps a little.

  • Miss Mils I really feel for you, you're right doing all the prep and then being ignored.
Im very new but maybe someone who knows more can advise you on if you could ask to change your street to more accessable houses, or Id be inclined to ask who signed you up .

My SL gave me my streets and said that the previous rep there had done ok before and I have done ok for the 2 campaigns since I joined.
I did knock on everyone's door and say hello to start off with.

Let us know how you get on

Thanks so much for all the advice! :D

I have my POB on Facebook (but all my friends on it are MSE comping buddies!) I did mention on some brochures that there was an online brochure which was easy to order from, but I think that's just too much effort for folk who aren't really bothered :)

I think I just need to up my confidence, and really get over feeling that I'm bothering people when I knock on their door.

Another thing to try is to advertise that you're a rep on local Facebook for sale groups - see the first post on this thread, towards the bottom, there is a link to a guide I've done to help with using Facebook to make the most of your avon :)
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

Does anyone know how returns for the 3 for 2 promotion will work?

I've got an item which will be returned but is showing as FREE on my invoice :-(

Could in theory be 3 seperate customers buying one item each, so they should all be returnable in their own right
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

The invoicing of the 3 for 2 is explained in HT with the Strictly cover.

When it comes to returns, Avon will surely have to allow people to return one or both of the paid for items (with the free one being kept) because they know they could have gone to 3 different people. And on top of that people should be able to return an item if they're not happy with it.

Mumto2 - you should be fine to return the free one. If your customer also got it free (because they bought 3 items) you could ask if they want to choose something else and do a replacement. If your customer paid for the item (because they only ordered that 1 item), you won't be any worse off. If the brochure price was £10, you'll have gained £10 by selling it, then lost £10 by giving a refund - so you haven't made a loss.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • Hello newbie Jo here, I just signed up on Tuesday. If any one could advise about the following will be much appreciated.

my sales leader has given me brochure 16, is this right? as when i log on to Avon is says that i am on c17, and everybody seems to be on c17. when i asked her about it she said that she didn't have any spare 17 books and that she was allowed to give out 16 as well. :(

she also said that I have to pay for my second campaign of books, which I have now confirmed with Avon is not the case.

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with a upline sales leader in my area 580 ?

    thank you
