Failing that you could search out Gail Reynolds (www.gailsreps.com I think) , who's Avon's 3rd highest earner. She's based in Dorset but travels all over and has SLs throughout the UK. Very down to earth and inspirational. You could do worse than join her team and TBH if I had done my homework first I would have taken that route.
(Having said that, I didn't want to 'do Avon' anyway..... and I now have 130+ on my downline.... )
PS If you do join her team, please feel free to share her tips on here!! :rotfl:
thank you for the tip:) found Gail and actually had a nice telephone conversation with her last friday! I have signed up under one of her local sales leaders:j so will see how it goes!
If I get any useful tips, will share them on here. thanks againLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -
You're v welcome, JC; will be seeing her on Saturday as we're manning an 'Avon barrow' in Green Lanes Shopping Centre, Barnstaple to spread the word about A-F33 and 'the Avon Opportunity'.
Good luck with your own Avon business (and look forward to your tips! :j)

Hi ladies, hope no one minds me bombarding this thread with a question that I'm sure has been asked numerous times!
I'm really trying to make money from Avon but at the moment I'm not. The reason I continue to do it is because I actually really like the products!
Anyway I have now been given some streets to canvas, and will start them with C17. I have also just paid to have a stall at a Christmas fair which I'm looking forward to but I have NO idea where to begin!
So please could someone advise me on the following...
- What products should I order and how much should I charge for them (shall I just use brochure price?)
- HT products have confused me. I have read on Avon Connects that you can buy clearance products and sell them at fairs, but it does say on the back of HT you can't sell products on. But I know some people do?
- Any other hints and tips for my first stall?!
Thanks in advance xYou can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me. ~ C.S. Lewis0 -

Award Sales includes (i.e. is less) returns, so the figure is correctHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Yay got the £50 bonus after my first three campaigns. Been told this will be credited to my account. Do I have to declare this on my tax? I find this tax thing so confusing! Lol0

Feeling a bit disheartened. The area I was allocated is a block of fancy flats a 3 minute drive from my house. (Would have much preferred to stay in my village - but apparently we're already covered! Not that I've had a book in
)
Anyway, I am getting (at most) about 25% of my books back, I've been to the doors at least four times but never get an answer (I go at all different times), I've put cards through asking for the book to be left at the door but still nothing.
And in 7 storeys of flats (Around 35-ish flats) not even one order - Not even for a £1 nail varnish!
Any tips for keeping up morale?
Thanks in advance0 -
Im sorry you're having an unlucky start, if it's definitely not fruitful then maybe you could ask to swap it for another street.
Have you tried asking at local businesses or friends, neighbours that you know?
I was going to try old folks homes, well I tried the nearest and they refused but it hasnt put me off.
Ive been lucky with my streets so far.
You should speak to who signed you up, mine is very helpful and supportive,
I have had to go back loads of times to get books back, at least I can walk there, this is only my 2nd campaign, we have to just look forward to training the customers up into leaving the books out,
best of luck0 -

Sure others will come along with helpful tips too but am wondering, did you 'knock and ask' or 'stuff and run'? If the latter, then sorry.... 'fancy flats' and Avon = very rarely a good match. Chances are they binned your books.
There is a snobbery issue that works against Avon sometimes and much as we know the products are good, in my experience building a relationship with potential customers is all-important.
If you have nothing but 'fancy' residencies in your area then you will need to put yourself in the frame rather than just your book. Will take time so meanwhile make the most of your F&F orderers, who should trust you. Hang in there and you'll become a bit like a 'personal shopper' i.e. whenever you recommend anything your customers will just agree that they want one. Honest, it happens! :T
Little tip: there are so many offers in the book that busy people can't be bothered even to look - why not pick out the best deal in the book (flag it or do your own note to draw attention to it) or even just offer a "free mascara (worth £8.50) for orders £25+", which is easily done if you order the loyalty pack (£10 for 5 Supercurlacious mascaras + cards etc.) in every HT. OK it will eat into your earnings but may get you the intro you are looking for.
Also, when you're feeling down, think of it as a numbers game i.e. everytime you get a 'No' you're one closer to your next 'Yes'.

Well done!
Sure someone else much more knowledgeable than me will be along to answer your query re. HMRC but in my limited experience unless you're a high achiever and earn loads of dosh, they only actually want basic figures i.e. gross sales - cost of sales = nett profit/income. Could be wrong but my guess is that the £50 credit will effectively reduce your gross sales so really not worth worrying about in the scheme of things.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
