I'd suggest getting on google and searching you town name plus the word Avon, and see what that brings up (not the adwords adverts), hopefully that way you can locate someone close to you, and I'd suggest speaking to them first so that you can ask them some questions (just basic things, ask them how avon works, what support they provide etc, and see what there answers are)Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Hi everyone!
I've been lurking here for some time, but felt it was time to say hello properly.
My name is Ria and I've been a rep for two camps now - just placed my second order worth £500 in sales, meaning I get my bonus goody bag with my delivery tomorrow - whoot!
Absolutely loving being a rep at the moment - it's still that fun christmassy period I guess lol.
Wanted to say huge thanks to everyone for all the stellar advice in these threads. Everyone here is SO much friendlier than avon connects (which is generally fine, but there are some real smart alecs lurking around waiting to pounce too!) Hope I can help in the future myself too!
Welcome aboard and well done you, that's a fab achievement! :T Enjoy your freebies + your £50 credit, which you should get against your 4th order.
Got to say I totally agree with you re. AC - there does seem to be a bit of a witches coven going on there. It does, however, seem to be more closely monitored now (I decided to take a stand against one of the bullies recently and our exchanges 'disappeared'). The Avon threads on MSE started eons before AC and I still prefer them.

If you apply direct to Avon you will go through to your Area Manager, who will then either sign you up direct or pass you through to a local SL they are wanting to support. Failing that you could search out Gail Reynolds (www.gailsreps.com I think) , who's Avon's 3rd highest earner. She's based in Dorset but travels all over and has SLs throughout the UK. Very down to earth and inspirational. You could do worse than join her team and TBH if I had done my homework first I would have taken that route.(Having said that, I didn't want to 'do Avon' anyway..... and I now have 130+ on my downline.... )
PS If you do join her team, please feel free to share her tips on here!! :rotfl:Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Yay c16 is doing great for us, sales are the highest so far this year, about £800 with 2 days still to go. Definitely lots of Christmas presents being ordered, make sure you let your customers know there aren't many brochures before Christmas, so that they don't leave it too late.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I placed my first order on C16 & it was at £345! So chuffed - I already have 2 orders for C17 with the rest of my brochures going out this week.
I am slightly confuddled about claiming as being self employed though.
I have a list of things that I can claim back expenses for so I think the best thing to do is just contact the Tax Office to see if they have any of those little classes in my area.
What are the things that you claim expenses for just to give me an idea?
Thanks Dxxx0 -
Here's HMRC's notes about self-employment, and they talk about expenses and give examples part-way through it: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/worksheets/sa103f-notes.pdfI used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.
I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
