Pips Mum - it's not baby brain!! I knew I'd seen it somewhere too and have managed to track it down - see the "how to order" page in the back of Hello Tomorrows

It says... 'If you don't wish to receive an alternative product, please enter product number 82404 and quantity 1 in the the "place and order" section of the website.'

I assume this would cover your whole order and not just HT items.

Hope it isnt too late! All the best for the c-section, enjoy your new baby...I'm an early October birthday and I can tell you we're the best ;)

I read this too late but Thank you so much at least I know for the next times

  • Hi ladies, do any of you know how the credit system works for Avon. I was basically told that I was allowed only £276 credit but have orders for nearly £900 and I haven't even picked up my work's orders yet. Also feeling very worried as most of these orders are for the Lipsy bag and purse set (leopard print 24 sets) will I get all these or have I totally messed up on my first Avon order. I don't want to let people down who have placed an order xxx

Sounds like you are going to need some help.... Speak to your upliner and/or Fastrack. Am guessing they will either ask for you to pay monies upfront or you'll have to split your order, pay for some, then place an additional order for the rest.

Well done you with a first order of that level :T but just a thought..... do you mean the Lipsy Bow Shopper & Purse in HT18? Unless you're a trendsetter, most of us can only order this as a demo i.e. only allowed one per rep. Hope you haven't been using your Hello Tomorrow to sell to your customers..... :o

  • If the additional order returns got attached to a regular order then they would get deducted, I see your point here though. But £500+ sales in ontime, online, regular orders were the RS rules...

Yes, but £494 worth including returns but excluding the additional order d o e s seem a bit of a 'jobsworth' attitude!

Hey, ho.... as you say 'rules are rules'.

Was speaking to someone earlier who said that their neighbour started avon but quit almost straight away. I spent some time tripping back down memory lane to when I used to trade on ebay. This was some years ago but obviously the buy and sell concept was the same.

As a trader I had to do many things. I had to firstly find out what my market wanted to buy, check out niche areas which fetched good money. I had to find suppliers. This in itself took several months to get a good selection. I had to buy my stock by paying before delivery and purchasing enough to be worth the haulage/free delivery. When it arrived, I had to sort it, work out my costings, spend time setting up photographs to show it off in the best way, make room to store these items, list them on ebay, weigh them and prepare packaging. When sold, I had to trundle to the post office to send and start the reordering process all over again. If I made a mistake when ordering and misjudged demand and price, I could end up with stock I couldn't sell.

Here's the difference. Avon hold stocks of their products, they produce a glossy brochure every 3 weeks, new products regularly, deliver out free of charge, no payment required up front, accept returns with no restocking, accept returns with no questions asked, offer branded stationary and bags and so forth.

All the rep has to do is find the customers and spend time running to and fro from them. We have it practically handed on a plate to us, how lucky are we :D

  • I was lucky enough to join on thursday and had a very helpful SL plus marsdencuckoo has been encouraging me for a few months now that it's not so scary.

My SL gave me nearly 50 books, bags and forms, hand outs and loads of info. I was also lucky enough to get some streets I can walk to so I can keep fit.
I knew a lot of how it works coz of this thread so I was part prepared anyway, esp when I saw an Avon book outside the 3rd house I went to.

I've made HOV and have yet to pick up my books and pop them out again one more time before I order on Monday.

Im not trying any back ordering to be creative on the orders incase it interferes with my numbers for rising stars 2, etc

    Im indebted MarsdenCuckoo

    thanks very much

Very well put MM :) it's so true and why I carry on doing Avon especially now the initial hard work is out of the way (getting a good customer base). As you say, all the rest of the hard work is done by Avon we have to do very little.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

I just started with Avon & just got in from my first book pick up. Out of 18 books only 6 were outside the door (2 orders though!) so I'll have to go round chapping on doors later on.

I don't want to bother my neighbours - any tips on how to be casual about it? Or even if this is possible?

Thanks again for this handy thread :)

If you don't want to knock, then the Avon calling cards (pink slips) are great. Just fill them in, shove it through, then go back the next day (or whenever you said).
You can order them as stationery through Avon.

If you can brave it, might be nice to introduce yourself though.....

    Good luck!
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Can someone please help. I have several things to send back. And I put the credits through, and before I could print off the returns page the page closed. Now I have no idea where I can find this on the account *I don't have a returns book i've always used the returns pages) please can someone give me some advice as to where to find them again to print off. I've been to credits and it just doesn't have them. HELP!
