Good vibes for everyone getting the sales you want :)

After last camp was so much better for us, I think this time is goin to work out at about the same as usual - I'm guessing my customers are ordering Xmas presents but nothing for themselves. Still - means they'll need to order make up etc for themselves another campaign!

Pleasant surprise - had quite a few large orders so sales are nearly double than usual, which is great news as we're getting the kitchen done next month so means well have the money for the tiles etc lol

  • Hi everyone, hope the campaign is going great for you all :)

I did my first canvassing yesterday and for some reason got VERY nervous lol! But I managed it! Problem is I didn't order half the books I needed stupidly, but at least I'm learning and at least I canvassed has my worries have stopped me doing it for a while!

My question is... is there any way I can order some books to come quicker than normal delivery? Say within two days or something? Or does it work on normal ordering times?

    Thank you!

You can put an additional order through, but delivery is variable. Can be anything from a couple of days to a week - if your regular order is due to be delivered within a week it might not be delivered until then. Depends a bit on your courier. I'd suggest asking who you joined with if they have any books they can have, offer to pay for them, at least then you'd have them quicker, and wouldn't have to pay the £2.50 delivery charge you'd have with an additional order.

We all get nervous canvassing, it's perfectly fine, you'll fine even the people who don't want avon will tell you nicely as us 'Avon ladies (& gents!)' have a good reputation :)

I was getting a bit more confident in my canvassing until I got a very angry woman telling me she never got a book when I dared to knock & ask for it back. (I most definitely did pop one through the letterbox).
Then today I got a charming note written on the pink slip, informing me in capital letters that I was NEVER to give them another book EVER :rotfl:

Add that to the occasional screams I hear, and the intense looks of suspicion I get for being in a locked entry block of flats I don't stay in, well ... it all adds up.

I have some ace territory :p

I'm on C1 & have had one small order from a canvas of 60 flats.
Still very disheartened & feel like giving up!
  • Miss Mils dont get too disheartened, everyone is apprehensive at the start, I was.
Im on my 3rd campaign but have been lucky with orders, still I had decided to give it 12 mths when I joined to see if it was worth it.

are there any local shops, hair dressers or nursing homes you might try to leave books?
at first it was difficult to get the books back but Im already finding a lot more are left out for me.
    keep smiling!

The only silver lining is - the more no's you get - the closer you are to getting a yes. As suggested above, see if there's any local businesses you can leave books in, try advertising on Local Facebook groups to see if anyone wants a brochure, particularly if you have flats nearby you might get a better response as some reps might have been allocated their block but not actually be able/want to get entry. Ask/make sure the customers you do have know you're willing to deliver to new customers - offer a discount/ free gift as a thank you to help encourage them - you can always do this by putting extra order form in and writing in the message box that its for a friend. Hang in there, it can take a while to build up a customer base, but once you've got it then things are so much easier.

  • Thanks for the tips :)
As for local businesses, there's one shop in my village. I suppose I could try handing some books in there.
I've been allocated new territory nearer my house, so hopefully that may work out a bit better :)

I may give it a few more months. From reading the board it seems best not to bother customers between christmas & new year?

It depends really on when your order/delivery dates fall. Mine are quite good, my c1 comes just before Christmas, and c2 order is due in until early jan. so I don't miss an order, I just don't leave them with a brochure over Xmas, ill drop the books off sometime after Xmas but before news year eve, then collect then about the 2nd January. Depends on how your dates fall, for some People it's better to miss out either c1 or c2, but if you can I'd say try for an order, they reduce the mov over the short campaigns (dec - jan), and if you have the time it means you still earn a little even if its not as much as usual

  • I'm a TS rep, so my C1 order goes away today.

My last book before Christmas is C3.
I'm fairly optimistic for the next lot of orders with my new territory and the C2 book has a lot of nice bargains in it! :)

One thing I'm unsure of is how long to leave the book with prospective customers? I left it for 5 days & was told people didn't have enough time to look at it - I'm considering leaving for a week and hoping that will give folk enough time for a casual browse.
