Ah ok, nice to have a ts rep on here
For some people, no matter how long you leave the book it isn't long enough lol. I try to leave them at least Friday - Monday, but that's what works best for me & Dh with our shift patterns, but a lot of my customers I have managed to pursuade them to contact us with their orders rather than us collect the book which means they have over a week to get their orders in. Every rep & their customers is different, but if a lot of your customers have asked for longer then its a good idea to do so, if you can with the time & books you have. Could be an idea to put on your order forms the latest date you can accept orders (make it 2 days before your actual order deadline as you'll always have people contacting you late).Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
I was a bit scared of being TS to start with, but it's nice to see the brochures in advance. Never sure how much I can share with the new books so I don't say much haha (but... C2 is a slim book
)
My plan for next order is to pop a sample in each of the books I have available, and I may be brave & knock on doors and introduce myself!0 -
How long to leave books - I'd choose what fits in best with your routine, as long as that doesn't mean it's a very short length of time that people are left with books. 5 days is absolutely fine - definitely not too short so, while you can experiment with leaving it longer, I wouldn't do it if 5 days is the ideal for my routine. I.e. 5 days might mean you can pick them up on a day you're not working, whereas 7 days might mean you're stuck doing the collection after a long shift and in the dark. Don't feel under pressure to change if it's going to cause problems like that.
Samples - I'd save these for people who are ordering so you can make sure they get something relevant. You lose books when canvassing and the samples will go with them, or people will take the sample with no intention of ordering. I don't even use samples on my customers (unless they're free) because they haven't worked for me at all.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Hi, I've just become an Avon rep and wanted to say 'Hi!'
I too was given lots of campaign 16's but have found out that a few people have seen campaign 17 through other reps they know and so am not sure on how to proceed really-any advice would be appreciated in regards to the below-
are there any possible competitions that I might miss out on if I forego one campaign so I am 'up to date' with other reps? Ie I've seen one where Avon are going to pay someones rent for a year and don't want to jeopardise my chances (if I would even be included in this type of thing? Where would I even find out about this incentive?!)
Does anyone know the MOV and HOV mentioned in a previous post for the christmas campaigns (I think this is campaign 18 and campaign 1? please correct me if I'm wrong!)
Thanks for any advice/suggestions!0 -
Sorry forgot to ask - when does the POB change to the next campaign (mine currently shows campaign 17) and is anyone having issues with the shopping bag not working through the POB at all?
Thanks0 -

These people who see an Avon book from someone else - are they saying they want to switch to you? I have a handful of people on my round who see a book at work/friend etc so once I learned that I stopped calling on them. Even if people are on your territory, they don't automatically have to order from you once you start calling, so if people get Avon elsewhere make a note and re-canvas them every so often in case their rep stops.
But assuming they'd rather have a book from you: Your current campaign sounds like it's C17 (since that's what your POB is showing and it should also say C17 in big pink letters when you log in. I've just realised the POB can take a while to change over so log in and see what it says). So the first thing is to get 20 copies of C17 from your upline since you're entitled to these (if you're in your first or second campaign). Even if you've been supplied with plenty of brochure 16, you should still be getting 20 brochures for your current campaign.
I'd just canvas your area with the brochures you have - giving out C16 during C17 is called backordering. If people don't have a rep already they won't be aware that C16 is the backorder brochure. I use backorder brochures every time I recanvas or take on a new street.
When you do your C17 order, order copies of brochure 18 and brochure 1. If C18 is your 2nd campaign you're entitled to 20 copies of brochure 18 but you might need more so you'll have to add them to your order. If your upline isn't supplying them (which would be wrong) I'm afraid you'll have to order all of them yourself.
That way, in C18 you'll have the current brochures to give out and you'll be up to date without skipping a campaign.
The POB should be changing to your current campaign on the first day of that campaign (the day after your order deadline) - however reps are reporting it's taking 4-5 days! I'm not using the POB at the moment because of technical and usability issues - I don't think it's a smooth enough experience for the customer (even without the technical problems). If you have people who you can't get a brochure to, send them the e-brochure link instead (on the first page of this thread). It doesn't have a shopping basket or anything fancy - it's just an online brochure to flick through.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Just to add to the great advice above - if you're still in your first 2 campaigns, ask who signed you up if they can swap your brochures to the current ones, and if they can't, ask if they can give you some extra brochures for future campaigns as way of compensation for the inconvenience. They don't have to - but worth asking, mention that some people have been confused as to why they're being given a previous issue, and that it could affect your sales (I doubt it will so don't panic), but, new reps should really get the current brochure so that you're getting your money's worth as then you can use them During the following campaign.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Its friends that have seen them ie one where her mother in law gets avon (not a rep) but she doesn't so she'd like to go via mejust confused me! Ok I think I understand that! Will see what I can do! Thank you:)
Thank you for the information re the POB I will go and nab the link from the front page0 -

Brilliant thank you-seeing her next week so will see what she says!0 -
I'm a TS rep, so my C1 order goes away today.
My last book before Christmas is C3.
I'm fairly optimistic for the next lot of orders with my new territory and the C2 book has a lot of nice bargains in it!
One thing I'm unsure of is how long to leave the book with prospective customers? I left it for 5 days & was told people didn't have enough time to look at it - I'm considering leaving for a week and hoping that will give folk enough time for a casual browse.
I'd say 5 days is far too long. If you leave a set of books with anyone for that long, then you're missing the chance of getting the books out round other houses. There are some people will get an Avon book delivered to their house and never even open it. Some people don't leave the book out on collection day (either forget/can't be bothered or have thrown it out) so you have to waste more time chasing them up to get it back.
The people who told you they didn't have time to look at it, well that's probably because they left it to the last minute. On the day they got the book they saw you weren't coming back til 5 days later so they thought "I won't look at the book tonight, sure I've plenty of time. I'll look at it tomorrow" Then the next day came and they were too busy, knew there was still 'plenty of time' to look at the book, so didn't bother, then forgot all about it until you knocked the door to collect it.
You could always leave a message on the order form that if they want the book for another day to ring you. Though I've never done this myself, just a thought. I'm leaving books out on Saturdays and collecting on Mondays. That's how long I leave the books, then I get the chance to redistribute them during the week, for collection maybe on a Friday.
After having customers for a while you get to know who is reliable and maybe you could give those customers some extra time if you felt it was needed.:)0
