  • Selling tip: Midnight Green Nail polish is gorgeous and can be glammed up for a party season look with the color trend Silver Glitter top coat. The Gold should be good over it too, but haven't tried it out yet. :D
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???
  • Hi all,

Come across a problem and im not sure if its always like this and i havent noticed before.

I've got a lot of people ordering xmas presents on the 3for2 offer in C17. Its not due in until tuesday but ive just started putting some in online.

Its showing up way less £ than my orders actually are, when i looked into it, it is showing all 3for2 products as Free, instead of just the cheapest one. Does it always do this and it comes out correct on the invoice? or is it a mistake?

As its saying i havent hit HOV and i am well over it really!

    Thanks

Thanks for your advice missminx, there's not much info to go on from google, but I did gather that you need 5 people in a team to get commission too? Think it sounds a bit too much commitment for me as I'm currently looking for a full time job anyway. Thanks for the advice though :)

Also - for those who have mentioned bumper boxes, do they generally contain old clearance stock that would be hard to shift or is there enough stuff in there to cover the cost by reselling? Have been considering investing in one, but would be great to hear about others' experiences first. Thanks!
I enjoy money-saving and am slowly entering the world of online earnings - aiming to pay for Christmas 2015 from extra income earned in 2015.
    So far: Bubblews £16.19 . Swagbucks £25, Neobux £1.29, Clixsense -.
Freebies/wins 2015: 2 x Convent Garden soup boosters, mini L'Oreal foundation, LG smartphone, mini Clinique face wash.

If you look in HT17 (Strictly Come Dancing cover) there's a page in there that explains the 3 for 2 invoicing and has examples.

It will give you every 3rd item free in the order you enter them. So as you've noticed it doesn't look at the whole lot and give the cheapest free. Avon needed to do this otherwise reps would have lost out.

We're actually set to be able to make more money thanks to this way of invoicing.

However you've made me realise - if you're not over HOV yet - this could create a problem. If you're still under HOV at the end of the day add some extra things you know you'll sell eventually. You could always return them at a later date if they don't sell but be careful of that effecting Rising Stars and smart start rewards.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • Thanks I.Geek. I musthave missed that, i'll have to get it out and have a look.

However, i have listed them in order one after the other and its still showing all as free?
  • Sorry I mis-read. :o Actually there's another rep on Connects saying all hers are showing as free - so you're not alone and it'll be a glitch as usual. The "view subtotal" page is a bit glitchy and some have been around for ages now (fixed discounts showing no discount).

  • I started doing Avon about a month ago and I registered for being self employed. I filled in a form a week or some back so I don't have to pay for nat insurance as I'm employed but today I've received a letter saying I'm going to be asked to fill in a tax return? Why? I've only just started Avon and earnt £18 ish? I didn't earn anything self employed in the last tax year?

Don't worry about the letter from HMRC (well - if it's the one I think it is). They send out a letter saying "we've looked at your records and see you need to be filling in a tax return" to everyone shortly after you register as self-employed. It sounds alarming but you don't need to do one straight away.

They'll send out another letter just after the start of the new tax year in April 2013 to say you need to do your return. And even then you'll have until October 2013 to do a paper one, and until Jan 2014 to do an online return.

So going off your post you started self-employment in the 2012-2013 tax year. This ends on 5th April 2013. A few days after that you'll get a letter saying you can now do your tax return telling them about your figures for the 2012-2013 year. You'll need to register to do it online and they send out a password and login details.

EDIT: The only time you'd get a request to do your tax return more quickly is if you started self-employment in, say, March (in the previous tax year) and registered as self-employed in May. In this case they'd need you to tell them about your earnings (by doing a tax return) from when you started in March until the end of the tax year on 5th April. But even then you'd have a long time to actually do the tax return.

Been away so lots to catch up on (always start at the end first and work backwards.... LOL) but re. the bargain boxes I've only ever ordered one and got stuck with quite a few bits - some of the jewellery items were actually sub-standard/tarnished. Pretty sure you'd be able to make a profit on them if you do car boot sales, etc. but you can only return the entire box so it is a bit of a gamble.

I'm also thinking of becoming a sales leader - can recruit my sister as my first rep. If any sales leaders could advise me on the following I'd be really grateful:
    - Will it pose any problem that we both live at the same address?
    - What sort of commission structure would I be looking at regarding orders of my reps?
    - How are reps for your team recruited - do you have to find them yourself or do Avon refer interested people living in your area?

TIA for any help. If you'd rather PM me about SL commission that's fine.

Yes, no probs recruiting any of your friends and family - lots of SLs have their family members on their team; deffo no probs re. sharing the same address. The only hiccup will be if your sister wants territory - the system cannot cope with it so you will need to contact your Area Sales Manager for them to allocate some.

Full details of the commission structure should be on your website (or if not, ask your upliner and they can email you a flyer) but basically SLs get up to 5% of their team members' nett sales provided they order/pay on time + BDBs (Business Development Bonuses) for qualifying: £50 when you qualify + £100 for maintaining your SL status for three campaigns.

To qualify you need 5 active team members, group sales of £888 including your own order of HOV.

If you have a good upliner they will help you get some team members - usually I suggest reps line up 2-3 potential team members for themself and then I'll help them find the rest.

It's not easy; can be very time-consuming and a lot depends on you/r upliner as to how successful you are. Deffo worth giving it a try though. I tell my reps they'll never get rich as a rep so if you want to turn Avon into a career then SLship really is the best option.

    HTH.
