Q's - when starting out... how many brochures do you get you get 20 brochures for the current campaign and 20 for the next minimum with the option to order more for the next with your first order if required, and do you have to pay for them? they are supplied as part of your start up pack which costs £15 twice, once in each campaign Do you recommend putting them in clear bags so don't get wet yes, freezer bags will do for first canvass then you can order some avon ones (around 80p for 50, zip lock type), torn etc.. How long do you usually leave at a house? how long would you like to have a brochure for? Suggest 2-3 days on first canvass so you can do several drops. My regulars now get a brochure for up to 6 days Do you put a note with brochure asking even they don't wish to order, they would like to see a brochure again? I do, some others dont. Some brave souls door knock - your call How often do the brochures come out? 3 week rotation although it goes a little pear shaped just after Christmas

I just don't know whether to go for it... I am sooo busy with life at the moment, but DD is due to start Secondary School next year and would like to start saving for all of the forthcoming expense.

The charge is £15 total, rather than twice. Think MM meant to say you pay half with first campaign, and half with second campaign. Hope this clears it up a bit! :D
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Well I just joined yesterday and cant wait to get started - although this weather is putting me off slightly! Seemed to be a good idea last week when the weather was scorchio.

Only thing holding me back is the bags to put the brochures in. Need to nip to shops today to get sealed bags then print info re do you want to see brochures etc. not knocking on doors - too scared.

Only got one week left to get my orders in - will be a bit of a rush.

Was interesting to see the HT brochure for samples etc and loved the look of the Starter Kit bag.:)

What do you have to lose? I had a ASM come round yesterday, gave me lots of leaflets etc to read, left me 20 brochures and the HT brochure which has special offers for reps, samples to buy etc and gave me territory that is on my estate anyway.

Didnt have to pay out any money yesterday and every little bit of money I make will be put into an account to go towards a (deperately needed) summer hols.

Give it a go. Otherwise you will be sitting there wondering if you could have made a go of it. I know I've been thinking about it for months and glad I took the plunge!

"To add to what's already been posted, you should have been given a leaflet about the SmartStart scheme, illustrating all the freebies you can get for your first six campaigns and when to expect them."

Hi - I'm sorry if I can't quote a previous posters message properly, but could anyone point me in the right direction. I'm an Avon Sales Leader (quite new) & can't find the latest smartstart info - I've checked the Avon website, but as usual, can't find the info easily. I have a new rep to appoint this evening, (Tues) so would like to give her relevant info. Could someone tell me where to find smart start info. Thanks.

I think new reps can access the info from their website - but - there should be a leaflet with all the info in the pack you use when signing a new rep up.

  • Hi. I'm new here and you've probably heard this before, but I'm having problems with my area manager double-booking my territory. I was assigned to my territory in C9 last year (I know I'm the official one because I've met previous rep that I took over from) but since then my area manager has assigned the territory to someone else as well 6 times, and twice in the last month. Before I got this territory, I was one of the people she assigned to one that was already taken.

I saw someone else's brochures on doorsteps again today and I'm seriously thinking about quitting Avon (which I don't want to do because I enjoy the products) because I'm getting nowhere and the people in charge are no help at all. I only got one order from brochure 7 because someone else had already got there first, and now the same thing is happening with brochure 8. I'm not even sure if it's worth the trouble of letting her know that she's done it again.

Is there anything I can do?

Just looking at the 1st post of this thread and this doesn't seem to read right.

    £130 customer orders - 20% commission = £108 nett to you
    £148 customer orders - 25% commission = £111 nett to you

So, essentially, the extra order for £18 worth of goods actually only costs you £3! Thanks to MarsdenCuckoo for the maths!

    Is it correct?

Thanks for your help. I thought the info I had was out of date & new info would be available to me on the web. She signed up without the need of any incentives:j I've found this fourm so helpful in the past, feel I should contribute my 10 years of Avon experience, & few months of Sales Leader experience to it. Thanks everyone. DD.

Yep - if you get between £78-£147 of orders you get 20%, once you get £148 then you get 25% - the Maths above shows the point at which it's worth adding extra items on if you're a bit short of £148.

just double checked MC math - and the first one is slightly off - should be £104. But it still shows how for not much money, you can get yourself a load of products if you're just slightly short of the £148.

Have altered it now, it wasn't far off - should have been £135 in orders rather than £130.

What a pain in the !!!. Yes there is something you can do - if you pm me your area number (or if you aren't sure of that, your area managers name), then I can find out the details of there boss for you - you can tell them what you've told us, how long it's been happening for and the amount of times, and the fact that you say about it but it's still not sorted. Hopefully, then there boss will give them a talking to and make sure that the system is updated properly this time.

The territory system Avon has doesn't allow for multiple reps on the same patch, if it's been allocated properly then the only way for another rep to be there is by accident, which can't be the case this many times, or if it's been manually removed from your account and given to another rep. If this had happened, you should have been told - it's only really done if a rep is leaving, or if there sales are so low that they couldnt be covering it (£50 sales for example).

It sound to be that it just has never been properly allocated on the territory system, so it still shows as being free

Send me a pm and I'll get the info for you, hopefully that should get it sorted once and for all! :)
