    Hi Ladies,

I've been having a big push on C18 seeing as I've had less than 1 week to get some orders, I'm collecting my brochures from the street tomorrow so fingers crossed I will get at least one order!!

I have a quick query - a lady at work really likes the little red mittens that are cutlery holders but they come in packs of 4 and she would need 5, but is reluctant to buy 2 packs - does anyone have any ideas that I could suggest to her? Or are there any ways I could get round it?

    Ruth

Well done on your first tranche of orders.

I love trying to find ways round things - the ultimate puzzle :rotfl: - but no, sorry, can't find a way round wanting 5 mittens but not wanting to buy two packs of 4 unless you know another family locally who might want 6/7? That would enable you to split the pack but can't see that Avon would.

Hmmm, never got any preprinted slips and all of my yellow ites in last campaign DID NOT turn up.

As for the free gift - I was wondering about it as well. Seems a bit unfair if someone orders two things and does not like one but has to give back the freebie for the whole thing. I haven't had that yet but if I did I think I would try returning without a freebie. Not sure...

The pre-printed slips are part of the same sheet with your return labels - not great quality (I do my own notes) but better than nothing, certainly when you first start.

As for it being unfair to have to return free gifts when customers only like part of the offer, it's no different to only ordering part of the offer i.e. not qualifying for the free goods in the first place.

Hello ther. I am looking for some advice from those of in the know :)

My daughters school is holding a xmas fair on friday 9th. I asked to do it but was told no as something similar was already doing it. Anyway they call me tonight and say now i can have a stall. Only problem now is i dont have a lot of stock at all. My next order and final one before xmas is to be sent wed 7th so wont be here in time for fair. Asked manager lady and she doesnt have much. seems silly to turn down opportunity but with next to nothing to sell i am not sure if its worthwhile?

    Any ideas?

Fine line now whether an additional back-order would arrive on time.... they reckon 5-7 days.....

Why not see if there are some other Avon reps in your neighbourhood that would like to join in and do one together? Failing that, if there are any SLs in the area they may like to join in to use it as a recruiting opportunity (sure SLs would have stock too ;) )

What town are you in? Long shot but there may even be reps on here, who are near enough to join in with you.....

At Live Your Dream this year our motivational speaker told us that she never says No to an opportunity - she always says Yes and then figures out afterwards how to do it..... (Can't remember her name, sorry) but she left school with no qualifications, was 'unemployable' (her own words) but by using her modus operandi built a business up and sold it for over £10+ million! :j

Go for it, say Yes and then figure out how to do it!

    Good luck.

I have to say that sounds somewhat dangerous.
On the BBC you can see examples of companies that have taken on the Groupon deal on the advice of a sales rep without doing any business planning and nearly lost their whole business over it.
I like the go-getting attitude but surely people have to plan things before they do it?
  • '1 million cash to give away' ............. just wondering if anyone has known anyone win anything with this? I've given out loads of cards, this year and last and not one of them won anything!

Not sure about 'dangerous'; risky maybe..... think she was promoting the idea that once you agreed to do something it became a firm committment so she made it happen rather than give herself the option of "am not sure", in which case it probably wouldn't happen.

What's the Groupon problem you allude to? Sorry, not seen anything about it on the TV. I've just ordered my first item via Groupon - am I likely to be regretting it? :o

  • Pleeeeeaaaassseeeee can someone help?:huh::huh::huh:

My C18 order was due on Thursday but my SL told me I could have until today seeing as it was very last minute.

Anyway, I wanted to get everything delivered to my work but I wrongly assumed it would give me delivery options once I had submitted it. I've gone in and added my work as a delivery address but it is still showing as being delivered to my home address.

My SL is not getting back to me (she has previously told me she turns her phone off at a weekend) and the Avon helpline are closed - IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN CHANGE THE DELIVERY ADDRESS?!:huh::huh:

Help please!! Not sure waiting in for my Avon order is a good enough reason to take a sick day lol!

On the bright side, I've hit HOV on my first campaign yay!!

You can try phoning Avon to make sure they have your alternative address on file, then contact your courier to see if they can help. Normally you put it in before submitting. What day is your order due to come? The other option is to contact the courier first thing in the morning the day before delivery is due, and arrange to collect it from them instead.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

I think it's one of those 'in context' things. I took it that she meant you were offered the opportunity to do 'x' in this case school Xmas fayre, but there were hurdles you had to overcome in order to achieve it, so do you say yes or no? Say yes, work on the hurdles and grasp the opportunity. Rather than would you like to pay £1000 for 'y' to help your business or similar..

Re Groupon: There is more to this than meets the eye. Companies have been very quick to decry the groupon experience, but, I worked for a company that was offered the Groupon 'opportunity' and when you read properly you would need very strict limitations in place as it is what a supermarket would call a 'loss leader'. Businesses will lose money / scrape a small margin if lucky on a Groupon deal; the idea being the publicity / return custom pays dividends. Our company ran a mile!

Well done, Ruth, and don't worry. Hopefully your SL gave you the telephone no. of your carrier? If so, just ring your carrier on Monday and give them the details of where you would like your order delivering. It may be that the carrier asks you to ring back because sometimes their systems don't allow them to make any amendments until the goods are actually on site. Just be guided by the carrier and they should make sure you get your order exactly where you want it.

PS: Sorry, MM, should've read your post first before answering - glad we gave similar advice though! LOL
