    Just wondering if anyone noticed the tip in the recent hello tomorrow about decanting giant bottles of shower gels, lotions etc into travel size bottles as samples? Just because I remember there was a debate going on a while back about if it was safe to do so etc. Clearly Avon think so! :o

    Ha! No, I didn't. But it was me who put that forward on here. I have done it. All happy so far. Great way for people to try things and cheaper then samples :D

    **edit to add.... suspicious minds may conclude we are being watched here, and Avon are poaching our ideas!!! hmmm are they seeing all our hints, tips and cunning schemes?!
    Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

  • Hello everyone,

    I am now officially an Avon lady :)

    My SL is lovely and gave me loads of catalogues and samples, and even one of her customers.

    The only thing I'm a bit miffed about is that I've been put in on C18, and she has given me until Saturday to get my order in, which I really don't think is long enough to get a decent order!! Especially seeing as everyone at work has already had C18 from my predecessor!

    But oh well, I will do my best. I'll be delivering on my street tonight and have given a few out to family and friends so fingers crossed. I've had a few orders but they are all just a few pounds.

    Anyone got any ideas on how I can boost my order in such a short space of time?

    Welcome New Avon Lady Ruth,

    Short of carrying catalogues around with you and asking everyone you meet over the next few days, I cannot think of how you can get more orders in the short time allocated. Just see it as a one off, & then really get going with the next campaigns.

    Emphasise the 90day refund/replace, which may help peeps order xmas pressies. So much easier than returning stuff over the net or taking back to a shop. I think it's a real advantage to avon.

    Welcome; hope you enjoy your Avon business.

    Sometimes this time of year customers are just too busy to search out the best offers, so do that for them. Find whatever you reckon is the best deal and promote that. Chances are your friends will follow your lead and order whatever you recommend because they want to support you.

    To help, great deals in C18 are:

    * p130/131 - 4 items for £5 - includes the full Men's Care range + the 'wonder product' 06700 (SSS Dry Oil Spray) :j
    * free Christmas gift pack for £12 spend on make-up/fragrance

    Hopefully your upliner told you that you can always order from your current book and your back book i.e. C17 in your case. (You should also have been given a C17 book to help you with Creative Ordering :T ) The great offers in C17 were:

    * 9 pages of make-up items where you could mix/match 3 for £10;
    * the cream to powder foundation was £4.99;
    * Free Beauty Bonus Bag (value £35+) for ordering the ANew Genics products
    * Free clutch bag for ordering £12+ of certain fragrances

    Actually, thinking about it C17 was far better than C18....

    Give it your best shot and if you are really struggling to get to a commissionable order value (MOV/HOV 20/25%) you do have another option - contact your upliner within 14 days of being signed up and tell them that you would prefer to be signed into C1 instead. (All new reps have a 14 day cooling off period in which to cancel their application/appointment.) Be careful though because sounds like you are in one of the later campaigns and by delaying to C1 you may miss out if your first delivery isn't before Christmas. (PM/Email me if you'd like some one-to-one advice.) Sure your upliner is wanting you to succeed, so keep in close contact and let them know if you are struggling in any way at all.

    Good luck - hope that helps rather than confuses. :)

    Yes, I saw that too and remember the recent debate about contamination. More to the point, I think the cost of these travel bottles is astronomical - they seem to cost more than the contents! I still have some senses shower gel sachets that they used to do as samples. Believe it was about 25p (?) or so for 5 little sachets, how I wish they still did them. Ideal to give out as freebies and great for holidays/short breaks (cub/scout camps, school trips away etc etc). Shame they changed the name of the fragrances.

    Got a little nervous about a customer I need to fulfill an order for so did an additional order last night for C18. My C1 needs to go in on monday so may add the items to that too - just to make sure :D

    Fingers crossed that everything for everybody arrives, I do so hate letting customers down.

    In HT2 Clearance there's mention of AT Shampoo samples 'Normally £1' but priced @ 20p. I rang SL Helpline to query if that was for 1 or 5 and was told it was just for 1. Your post makes me wonder now if it would've been for 5.... Anyone know for sure?

    Similarly, it also quotes Herve Leger Ete EdP Spray Samples @ 20p (as opposed to the vials) - anyone know what they are?
