Well done reaching HOV. Rather than ordering/losing loads of books, why not adopt the method of 'knocking and asking' rather than 'stuffing and running'? Yes, it takes longer initially but at least you know that every time you drop a book off, it's actually wanted....:)

Another option would be to separate the clearance books from the main brochures to give you twice as many and put a note with them to contact you if they'd like to see a main brochure.

Yes, knocking would be much better but I can only get out around 7.30pm when my boyfriend comes back from work from London and can stay with my daughter. By the time I go out and get to my streets it's close to 8pm and it already takes me 1,5hrs so by the time I reach last houses it's past 9pm and I don't think I can be knocking.

Thanks, I haven't thought of separating sales books, I really should.
  • Hi Ladies,

I've been having a big push on C18 seeing as I've had less than 1 week to get some orders, I'm collecting my brochures from the street tomorrow so fingers crossed I will get at least one order!!

I have a quick query - a lady at work really likes the little red mittens that are cutlery holders but they come in packs of 4 and she would need 5, but is reluctant to buy 2 packs - does anyone have any ideas that I could suggest to her? Or are there any ways I could get round it?

Just collecting Camp 1 which goes away next Friday. Had 3 good campaigns but 1 will be quite poor . Got PC in 16. Decided not to do 2 or 3 . Did them last year and I just scraped HOV . Wasn't worth dragging myself out in the snow and ice so not doing them this year. Also missing out 2 in the summer so prob won't make PC this year but to be honest I am not bothered. Will order books and stock some of the good offers on liquid soap and buy one get two free sprays. Might wait and see what book 3 looks like and might hand 3 & 4 out tog and back order 3. Will wait and see what weather brings!!

  • Another question ladies - I'm in the middle of placing my first ever order with Avon - guess what I've actually hit the lower earning rate in just 1 week!!

Anyway, some of the products are showing with the yellow dot and say they may arrive late or be replaced with an alternative - what do I do if not all of the products turn up when theyre supposed to or some are replaced?

Is it just a case of explaining to the customer, saying I'll get any late ones to them as soon as possible, or if its a replacement, asking them if they want to keep it or not?

Also, if they return something from C18 which means they no longer qualify for the free gift do they have to return that aswell?

I know these are probably daft questions but I'm still new so please forgive me lol!

    Hi Ruth,

Can't come up with a solution to the 'red mitten' query, other than buy 2 packs.

Well done for hitting MOV, that should get your confidence strong!

Don't worry about the yellow dots. I cannot think of one occasion that the item didn't turn up. Avon, I think, are just being super cautious. If stuff is out of stock, or replaced, you will receive some pre-printed slips to give the customer explaining the situation. Customers are generally very understanding about this kind of thing, just apologise etc etc....

Yes, Avon should indicate when the item will be delivered ie. before xmas. So communicate this to the customer, but maybe suggest they have a plan B in place just incase avon doesn't 'deliver'.

Also, if they return something from C18 which means they no longer qualify for the free gift do they have to return that aswell?

Yes, in theory the free gift needs to be returned as well. I don't know whether Avon is tough on this, but best to send it back as you don't want to risk not getting your refund from Avon.

Anyway, best of luck & keep us posted with your progress.

sorry about messy post, I couldn't manage the quote thingy properly!

Hmmm, never got any preprinted slips and all of my yellow ites in last campaign DID NOT turn up.

As for the free gift - I was wondering about it as well. Seems a bit unfair if someone orders two things and does not like one but has to give back the freebie for the whole thing. I haven't had that yet but if I did I think I would try returning without a freebie. Not sure...

Hello ther. I am looking for some advice from those of in the know :)

My daughters school is holding a xmas fair on friday 9th. I asked to do it but was told no as something similar was already doing it. Anyway they call me tonight and say now i can have a stall. Only problem now is i dont have a lot of stock at all. My next order and final one before xmas is to be sent wed 7th so wont be here in time for fair. Asked manager lady and she doesnt have much. seems silly to turn down opportunity but with next to nothing to sell i am not sure if its worthwhile?

    Any ideas?

I would suggest explaining to the customer that the free gift would have to be returned, so offer them an exchange of item instead. Thus getting round the problem completely. I'm sure people realise that if they bought something from a supermarket for a free gift and tried to return an item on its own that it wouldn't be likely to happen.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Put in an additional order asap? Make sure you meet hov / lov to get the commission rate though as it's going to cost you £2.50. Check the books carefully for some bargains, especially as you can back order.

yes if you haven't done it already do an additional order. I placed one yesterday . Had a few orders from camp 1 that it was a bit worried about going out of stock so I did an additional. Then 1hr after placing daughter hands me 2 orders from teachers that i could have back ordered and had delivered. Was too late to add to and order been prepared and although I can't see invoice I know order is £93 as it appears on balance. It should be here early next week . Think you would have gotten yours by next Friday if ordered.
