  • Can anyone help? My friend is looking for an eyeliner she got from Avon before its a colourtrend wet/dry one? Was this made totally obsolete?

    :) Thankies

I remember this one, think it was quite some time ago. Have not seen it around anywhere in last few months so reckon it's discontinued. How about ordering 2 or 3 different ones for her to try and return the unwanted ones?

  • she now not only orders with confidence but I tend to get a glass of sherry too!

MC, bet it takes all day for you to get round all your deliveries:D Having to do the customer care bit, ask about the family, check all is well etc. can really make it a long afternoon/evening for me. Go out, listen to the customers, check the watch and realise I have been out for an hour and only visited 2 customers:eek:

Mine tend to be older ones too and they do love to chat, particularly if they live alone.

I've got my local sales leader coming to visit me on Friday morning - eek!!

I've been reading through earlier posts and have picked up some fab ideas/ tips.

Is there anything that you wish you knew when you started out, or any tips that you swear by and think will really help me out?

I can't wait to get started!! Will I be better off starting in the new year or is there still enough time for me to get orders in before Xmas?

    Ruth

Yes, plenty of time left yet to get orders in before Christmas. In fact, in some places of the country they have two campaigns to go yet....

Don't be nervous about meeting your SL; she's there to help/train/guide you - it's not an 'interview' you need to 'pass'! Well done for doing your research :T - hope your SL knows as much as you've already picked up. (If not.... errr..... think twice about signing up with her - you're not obligated to sign up with the first SL, who contacts you and, of course, you have a 14 day cooling off period in which to change your mind even after you sign up - your SL should make sure you know that although it is mentioned when you apply via Avon's website so some SLs tend to 'forget to mention' it. ;))

Good luck; hope you enjoy your Avon business.

Yes, I do seem to have made a rod for my own back but hey.... I see it as my form of Community Service. :rotfl: Actually, I don't have that many customers now. As I recruit I tend to give my customers to the newbie to give them a helping hand. Was thinking I need to get out and recanvass my territory (yes, we all have to do it LOL) - maybe a job for next week although I tend to recruit at the beginning of the campaign to give my newbies as long as possible and the back end of the campaign is for my team's order management etc. so only actually leaves me 'a bit in the middle'.

Every day is different - I  it.

Hope it wasn't raining. (When I first started I lost count of the amount of times I was left on the doorstep in the pouring rain whilst the customer was inside in the warmth chatting away to me apparently oblivious.)

  • I have a couple of customers I have a chat with on the door whilst delivering but haven't quite made it up to the 20 min mark though lol! I'm sure we all have that one customer who when delivering opens the and give you a 'what are you doing here' look an then acts like your really inconveniencing them- if you dint want me here, dont order! Or is that just me? I always make sure I'm super polite in the hope that one day she likes me lol

Well, I think I've earnt my Avon community service award yesterday :rotfl:

A few weeks back I ended up retuning an elderly couples 3 tv's after the digi switch over, on the helpline etc to find out how to do it. No problem, they were so distraught when I arrived to deliver the order it was lovely to be able to help them out.

Yesterday morning, got phone call from them...... tele's gone again, can you do them when you pick up the book :p

Not a bad service for a £3 order :rotfl:
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Sorry MM, as much as I would love you to be my SL I'm up in Yorkshire, not South Wales. Unless you don't mind a few hours up the M6 lol?

What would I actually do if I didnt feel the SL was very good?
