% of books given out generating an order - this is more basic. I've already got an Excel sheet showing houses down one side and campaigns along the top. I record whether they read the book, didn't read it, ordered, or didn't return it. No figures in this table, but it's useful info to look back on to confirm that, yes, that person hasn't ordered now for over a year. It's useful for seeing who's repeatedly not returning books so I can move them onto backorder, or vice-versa. It allows me to plan ahead as well so if people don't want every book I can cross them off for certain campaigns. Right now I've got columns set up going up to C6 of next year.

So to work out success rate I just count all the books given out in a campaign, and then count all the orders. Then record them in a separate table, get Excel to do the %s and put in a nice chart.

I absolutely love your posts with statistics and percentages, particularly on your recanvassing results. 'Fraid there's no hope for me as I'm very much a pen and paper sort of gal. DS has offered to create a spreadsheet for me but I really do prefer to see things written down and I can see any amendments I've made. It's good to see other reps statistics though, particularly if you've done a big recanvass and want to make comparisons with others.

  • Hi everyone,

I've had a look through the past few pages of posts but no mention of xmas presents for customers this year....I bet everyone is just much more organised than me! What, if any, gifts have you decided on?

I've been pleased to see the return of the 10 pack of 2012 wall planners for £1 pack (remember last year, there were only 5 in each pack?). All active customers will receive one of these.

Rest of gifts will depend on what I have in stock as it were from freebies, creative ordering etc. Seem to have boxes and boxes of avon all around the house so looking forward to clearing some out.

C18 was quite good for me this year but not liking the look of C1 - very thin and dull brochure. Still, we plod on...

Are they actually going to be 10 for £1? Last year they were also advertised as such but then, as you say, the quantities turned out to be 4 or 5 for £1...:(

Last year I had loads of customers (have since given most of them away to my reps....) and gave them Bailey's truffles and/or Avon pens. Not given much thought to it this year yet other than organising the Christmas cards. Maybe I'll leave it at that this year or possibly enclose a 10% voucher off their first order in 2012 .... OK am officially 'tight' :rotfl:

    Morning Everyone,

I Geek- I also love your statistics. It pins down for certain how the business is actually doing rather than how we think or feel it's doing.

I've never given xmas pressies to customers. They've always got a card with a little 'thank you so much for your loyal custom' message in. I'd rather not set a precedent that I then feel I have to stick to. Also my customers all know each other & will compare gifts - eeek! I spend the year thanking them for their orders too.

My C17 was really good - about £570, but then an entire box had to be sent back because of spillage. I immediately reordered it online and got it replaced within the week & then got a second box ordered by the carrier. Now that has to go back!

C18 is looking very good so far & I'm collecting about half my customers over the next few days. Don't think it'll beat C17 though.

Not only got the short campaigns coming up, but one around xmas (C2) has an early order date, so a bit of forward planning to do.

Oh well, keep on keeping on. Hope you're all keeping well & cheerful.

Emailed avon end last month as needed a replacement for wrong sized bra. They said they would send it with C18 order. Emailed again this week as nothing showing on my orders, they say is no longer available :wall:

Have several out of stock items/sold out  fed up now :p

    particularly on your recanvassing results

Avon HO have put a couple of polls up on Connects about re-canvassing, which people on here might like to vote on seeing as - apparently - the results are going to be taken seriously by HO. Reps have put a few comments on as well, mostly me! :o It's something I feel strongly about because I'm aware there are reps who hog territory but don't RC and it's really frustrating for nearby reps who want to expand, but at the same time there are those of us who try but over time it's like getting blood from a stone. Fortunately in the comments you'll see that other reps who've had their area for some time, and covered it intensively at the start, are also finding RCs very un-fruitful. I think Avon needs to be more realistic, both about people's ability to spend at the moment, and about interest in Avon in general. They say 1 in 3 women spends, and on SMA that translates into 1 in 3 houses. I think it's a very small proportion of us reps who see that level of interest. I'm on 15%, which is just under half of what Avon expects. Even if I add on "gets Avon elsewhere" I don't get up to 33%.

If any of you do surveys on Toluna you might have seen a poll on there for "which make-up brands do you use?". It was multiple choice and Avon was one. Avon got 22%, which was a more realistic figure. Thousands of people had voted on it as well.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Have always givejn gifts - even when I had a lot more custromers. Usually stock up in c1 or 2 when few orders coming in so have a supply of little items.
Always do thank-you card as well and usually the calenders - have ordered a pack but not seen till next week if it'll inlcude 10 or not - don't think I bothered last yr.
