I have ordered some of the Senses shower gels and Naturals Room sprays when they were 99p each for my best customers who order frequently.0

Avon HO have put a couple of polls up on Connects about re-canvassing, which people on here might like to vote on seeing as - apparently - the results are going to be taken seriously by HO. Reps have put a few comments on as well, mostly me!
It's something I feel strongly about because I'm aware there are reps who hog territory but don't RC and it's really frustrating for nearby reps who want to expand, but at the same time there are those of us who try but over time it's like getting blood from a stone. Fortunately in the comments you'll see that other reps who've had their area for some time, and covered it intensively at the start, are also finding RCs very un-fruitful. I think Avon needs to be more realistic, both about people's ability to spend at the moment, and about interest in Avon in general. They say 1 in 3 women spends, and on SMA that translates into 1 in 3 houses. I think it's a very small proportion of us reps who see that level of interest. I'm on 15%, which is just under half of what Avon expects. Even if I add on "gets Avon elsewhere" I don't get up to 33%.
If any of you do surveys on Toluna you might have seen a poll on there for "which make-up brands do you use?". It was multiple choice and Avon was one. Avon got 22%, which was a more realistic figure. Thousands of people had voted on it as well.
Where do we find the poll on recanvassing please?
I refuse to be pushy with Avon. All my customers are also my neighbours & I see many of them in the streets on a fairly regular basis. Once they've said 'no' to Avon there's no point in trying again a few months later. I have had people who have said no, and then their friend has shown them a catalogue & they've then asked for one. I also keep any eye out for new people moving onto my patch, give them a few weeks to settle in, & then introduce them to Avon."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
Just a quick hello
I have just started Avon and have been reading all the tips on these threads and would like to say thankyou to all for submitting them.
1 questions I do have is.. I know of 3 people who sell Avon online and offer free postage.. None of them will tell me how they manage to do this and was just wondering if anyone here has any ideas on how that could possibly work??:santa2::xmassmile:snow_grin:rudolf::xmastree::rudolf::xmassmile:snow_laug:santa2:

When people do this I wonder whether they've really worked out how much it's costing them. They're either selling online via an e-brochure, where people e-mail, text or ring them with an order to place after viewing the brochure online. This still leaves you with postage costs, which really mount up when people order heavy items. Even if you go with a courier it's not cheap.
Or they're selling on eBay, which still has the issue of postage costs plus all the fees that come along with selling on eBay. I've looked into eBay selling and couldn't for the life of me, even taking into account having an eBay shop (cheaper insertion fees but a monthly fee) and buying in your stock when it was at its cheapest with a 25% discount, work out where the profit was considering the prices they were selling for. Either people know they're making a loss and are fine with that, or they're not doing their sums first.
I think the fact people just won't tell you how they manage to still make a profit could be a sign they haven't kept track of the figures and haven't really got a clue whether they're making a profit or not. Don't know what they'll do come tax return time...I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

It should be on the first few pages of discussions on Connects - look out for "Helen@Avon" as being the author of the thread. Otherwise do a search for "Helen@Avon" and "re-canvas" and you should find it.
I'm the same re the pushiness. If people have said no, they've said no and made a decision. I've got cards to post twice a year saying that if circumstances have changed, I'm still around. Otherwise they don't have to do anything - no new book through the door that needs leaving out. I'm considering whether to knock on doors next summer because at that point it will have been either 1 year, 18 months, or 2 years since I last called so they might have forgotten me calling in the first place by then.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Have never sold anything on E-Bay but often wondered if I should consider it. Is it easy to set up/expensive?
Suppose there are certain items ppl could sell with free p&p yet still make a profit e.g. Supercurlacious mascaras, glimmersticks (black and brown - 99p nett at the mo), the Clinical Eyelift (£1.25 nett in C16), possibly the Anew Serums currently on offer @ £5/5.50 and certain of the gift pack items. Alternatively, maybe the items are ones they can no longer send back to Avon for credit so anything is better than nothing....Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
