I get my books ready before, and usually people who order from c18 get a c1 book in with their order and that's about the only people I deliver to. Reduces my chances of orders, but suits us as just don't have the time to be dealing with large orders at the time of year.

I might not about much over the next few weeks - one of our beloved bunnies died at the weekend, leaving her hus-bunny feeling very sorry for himself, so are going the process of adopting an adult bun from the RSPCA as a new friend for him. Assuming we pass the home inspection - apparently we would be refused if we went for a cat, as we keep our cats as house cats. Can't see the problem myself, they're happy, healthy, cared for and get lots of attention. Seen no end round out area run over, and lots of our customers have said their cats have been shot and injured (even killed) by kids with air rifles etc. I'd rather know they're safe than let them out and they be injured, they've never been allowed out so don't know any different and aren't bothered. So well see what they say about our pampered bun, will be most p'd off if they say no, guess well have to keep an eye out for a lady bun at the pets at home adoption bit as we can't put a baby bun with him. Sorry for the rant, but seems a stupid rule!

Really sorry for the loss of your pet; you rant away chuck! Totally agree with you - we were refused by the RSPCA too (even though the local Chairman and Secretary were personal friends - they offered to intervene but I dug my heels in. :rotfl:) Everything happens for a reason though. We found our companion pet via our local vet and saved an elderly unwanted dog on 'death row' from being put down.

Hope you find your companion bunny.

Oh Lozza, so sorry to hear of bunny. I've kept three different bunnys for 12 yrs now and get sooooo attached to them. Just love their little ways and adore pampering & cuddling them. I'm sure your buns have a wonderful life, so I hope you pass the home inspection. My darling bun SOGGI died suddenly about 4 months ago and I then got a little loinhead lop I named LILO LIL. She's a little terror (house rabbit) - into everything, chewing everything, loves cuddles, just adorable.

Sorry for the off avon, bunny talk folks... Best of luck Lozza.

Keeping house cats - quite agree with you Lozza. Some cats have no street smarts whatsoever and have no interest in going further than the back yard/garden or even outside at all. I lived in a large flat when I got my current cat so knew to look for a certain personality. My mum found her and before I had her she used to take two steps outside to sit on the shed roof all day in the sun, then come back in. She's never shown any interest in going outside since - no clawing at the doors. There wasn't even an adjustment period. She watches birds in the garden but doesn't try to get out there. Many of my previous cats would have gone crazy and been desperate to get out, but not all cats are like that. I would have thought many older cats, which are the hardest to re-home, would be happy as house-cats. Even if we didn't live near a busy road, I think my cat would be pretty useless outside. Kitchen surfaces are too high for her, she gives spiders and woodlice a little tap with her paw then sits back, she hates the cold and wet...
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • What are the representative game cards that Avon mentions on their site today ? Have I missed out on something ?

Thanks guys, I felt very offended that they seem to think we're bad owners just because we don't let them outside...they never have, and aren't bothered by it so I don't see the harm - they're healthy, happy and loved. I can understand not letting us adopt a cat that has been used to going outside as that would be mean to then never let it outside, but some cats are happy being inside as you say IG. Obviously a case of those are the rules, and they stick to them no matter what. They were meant to be phoning today to arrange a home visit....so far not a peep!
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

You have to bang your head against a brick wall with the RSPCA I'm afraid. They're a bit like the council in that they do not allow good old fashioned common sense to interfere with policy. I live rurally, and we have always had cats. I don't keep her in if she wants to go out, partially because she appeared from nowhere and moved in with us, so must have some outdoor 'sense'. I do try to help her stay safe, only allowing her to use back door away from the road, reflective collar etc. I can quite see why, particularly in towns and cities, people keep indoor cats. Must be very cruel for people to keep them in rather than present them with the high risk of being run over..... They can have fresh air, and enough stimulation without going out.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

They've been sent out with your orders recently (C17 & C18) i.e. one per £18 spend.

The rep cards were sent out if you ordered samples of Outspoken, Genics or Nuit.

The customer cards (in the T+Cs reps and their families can't enter) are given out for £18 spends in brochures 17 and 18.

Thanks, IG; that'll teach me to speed read. :o

I only managed to check the first two of my rep cards - it wouldn't allow me back on again even the following day. This has reminded me to try again. Anyone else having the same problems or more to the point, has anyone won anything?
