as for the lady i mentioned i would never sell anything like that, my friend was trying to sell a car last year he had it up for sale for 2 months and it never sold because the 2 people that came to look at it felt pushed into buying and and left, he gave it to me and i sold it in a diffrent town 4 days later and i knew i would sell it for him because my approach to sales is sell as i would like to be sold sumthing, the beauty of avon is its already an established company with 125 years behind it so with my sales technique and and a brand like avon i belive id be on to a winner
but there are a few more questions id like to ask
1 as an sl how dose the bonus scheme work is it paid per sign up and how is it paid cheque or straight into the bank
2 if i was to do avon when would i have to start id like to start on the first campaign of 2012 but is this to soon as due to my work commtments christmas is my jam and cream but in january it goes dead
3 would it be easier to start at the begining of the new tax year i assume that as im still emplyed full time i would be on the 20% tax bracket
ive been doing some networking already and have already found 2 potential sign ups one is a nail technician and another is a young lady at college doing health and beauty level 2 a very good place to sell avon i would emagine
lastly i actually live in liskeard but work in bodmin so if i wanted to do some streets do they have to be in the town in which you live or can i do them after work in bodmin
thanx again for all your help and sorry for so many questions but i was always taught if u need help ask
To add to what others have already said:
Sounds like you'd be perfect for Avon - per the article in the 'Mail on Sunday' yesterday, more and more men are getting into Avon SLship and, of course, our top earning SL last year was a man.
To get back to your queries:
1. BDBs (Business Development Bonuses) are paid for a variety of things - £10 per 2 new reps in each campaign, £100 for qualifying as SL within 3 campaigns, £100 for maintaining SL status for 3 campaigns + a percentage of your nett team sales. As you move up through the ranks, the bonuses increase. The monies are paid direct into your bank account. (Those are the BDBs from C14 - C1; we're waiting to see if they will remain as is or be amended C2+)
2. Depends on your postcode but pretty sure your first campaign of 2012 in Cornwall will be C3. Sounds strange but Avon's C1 2012 is probably in December 2011 throughout the UK. Just a little 'quirk' of Avon's. :rotfl:
3. Avon's "year" runs C1-C18 and you are, of course, responsible for notifying HMRC because all Avon reps/SLs are self-employed (Avon notify HMRC when SL commission exceeds £1,000 in any one tax year; they also write to the SL at the same time.) HMRC run seminars for guidance e.g. reps/SLs can claim allowances for demo products, stationery, mileage, telephone, etc. etc. TBH I can't see any benefit to waiting until the new tax year to start Avon; quite the opposite in fact!
4. Well done for finding potential team members before you've even signed up as a rep. All SLs start as reps but provided you have a good upline support system, it's easily managed to get one campaign under your belt as a rep and then move into SLship. (Have done that with three of my SLs so far.) Theoretically there's nothing to stop you from going straight into SLship but seems logical to me to be a rep first so you have first-hand knowledge of that side of things first. All depends how quick you are to learn and how much effort you're prepared to put in. The world really IS your oyster!
5. Before I can help with your query re. Liskeard/Bodmin I'd need your postcodes. Email/PM me with the information if you prefer and I'll gladly see what I can come up with.
Hope that helps.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Email them, explain they are letting your customer down, and it isn't your fault. Ask them to include an appropriate free gift to compensate the customer. Wise to use appropriate or you just get the carp they have hanging around!
Totally agree, MM; plus, if that doesn't work SLs can help by ringing their SL helpline on behalf of their team member. I hated ringing Fastrack; both PC and SL Helplines are far better and easier to get results from in my experience (and I tell them! :rotfl:)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi - just a quick question - I have been a rep for over 15yrs now without missing one campaign.
Anyhow through illness I have scaled right back over the last few yrs so I only do a handful of friends who come to the house to fetch it. Have started only doing every other campaign (to save cost of books) but putting in a small order for myself in-between - so always order something.
Anyhow I was wondering what happens if you miss an order or two? Is you account cancelled or what?
Don't always want stuff for myself and if under £10 have to pay postage anyway - but don't want my account to lapse either if I can help it as its a good way to keep in touch with people.

Thanks peeps
I got the feeling that it was gonna be sent with my next order too.
I've asked for the items for free so we will see.
I didn't know you could do 'immediate replacement' on the website.
Thanks for the tip missminx
Yep totally not using the call centre again. Rubbish. They all seem to have different info.

Hi,
Well done you - 15 years - wow!
Strictly speaking, territory reps need to place orders every campaign (Area Sales Managers will sometimes re-allocate a rep's territory if they miss 1-2 campaigns without letting them know why). Sounds to me though that you're a F&F rep so there should be no pressure on you at all to place an order every campaign. It's always a good idea to drop your ASM an email though if you are not going to order. Makes things easier for them (and sometimes for you).
After you miss two campaigns you start to show as 'Inactive' on the system and occasionally Avon offer such reps a special deal to come back on board. (That's when it helps to have a good upliner to keep you informed of how to get the best out of Avon.) Recently the deal was £10 for a Fergie EdP, Max Mascara, SSS Dry Oil Spray and 20 books + 20 books for the following campaign if you placed an order MOV+ using your first lot of books.) :j
To fall off the system totally you need to miss 8 clear campaigns so essentially, there's no reason why you couldn't miss 3-4 months and still be classed as an Avon rep to avail yourself of products at discounted rates.

MC just wanted to clarify, is it 3 campaigns including the one you qualify in, or 3 after, ie the 4th campaign? if that makes sense?!Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Hi - thanks very much for the reply MasdenCuckoo. After having been so long with Avon I do not know what a F&F is!
Anyhow was never really given a territory when I started - out in a rural village and I just did who I wanted. Did have one rep start here a while back but she only did one campaign and gave up. So we're not covered by anyone else that I know of.
Don't actually have any contact with my ASM or anyone - aprt form the odd email sent out to everyone.

Hi MM,
The BDBs are:
* For qualifying: 3 campaigns from the campaign when you appointed your first team member; not from when you were first tagged as TSL
* Maintaining your SL status for 3 campaigns: including the first campaign when you qualified (I think... :rotfl:) To qualify for the maintenance bonus at ASL level it's 5 campaigns so I'll know for sure on Thursday

You're v welcome 7R8, sounds like you have a lovely 'patch'.
You can apply for Territory if you wish, at any time. That's up to your ASM to allocate. Does give you the added pressure though of needing to order every campaign - ideally.
F&F = Friends and Family i.e. everyone you know personally and everyone, who actually asks you for a book. Reps are only supposed to canvass the streets they are officially allocated as Territory Reps.
Sounds like you know everyone in the village anyway so in your case just stay as you are. Well done. If I can help in any way, just ask. Am always willing to help anyone, whether they're on my downline or not.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

They are included with your invoice. Should be a page with 6 bar codes on it? They are perforated, so you just need to tear one off and stick it on your parcel. The number on each one is your a/c number and then 4 digits, these are the ones to put on your forms.
Have you got the details for the carrier? If the depot is nearby, you might be able to drop it into them. Just make sure you get your copy signed.
I'm having the same problem as the other user. I need to send something back but I have no bar codes :S0
