  • Good bit of info that Sadlybrokeboy regarding the Expancy situation.

Feelig a little more confident now that even if they do not lower the price we will be able to cancel our order if do not wish to purchase at the full price. Hard to see how they can't lower the price really as surely will just be inundated with unwanted returns otherwise.

apple are horrible though, they restrict what you can do with your hardware which i for one do not like considerign how much they charge you! if i was gonna buy a full price tablet it would have to be the samsung :)

errr, yes you can, use iSwifter or Skyfire, they both run flash. The iPad cannot run Flash without any third party software/browser but the TouchPad can't do things that the iPad can do without third party apps either.....but that's a whole other discussion.

Be careful tho' - Skyfire and iSwifter just enable you to play Flash Videos and not the cleverly and heavily compressed also. It's not "true" flash - i.e. you can go to flash enabled sites or play sh**tyville or whatever! :)

Has anyone rung argos to see if they'll price match or offer refund of difference etc ??

I rang them last night and was advised that Argos do not price match so it would be up to the person who orders at full price to either cancel their order or pay full price.

Just had the rejection email from Staples. I'd previously spoken to them and they'd told me that they were hoping to fulfil all orders placed before 11AM. I can't say to be sure, but I'm pretty certain that my order went through prior to 10AM.

Best of luck to you all.

...Just when I thought I was out...

is this true, i would love it to be true. i ordered one around 10ish

So does anyone know anywhere that DOES still have these in stock at the reduced price? Been trying to get one pretty much constantly for over 24 hours now!

    Its OOS everywhere now.

However, I do believe that there must be more stock at some central HP warehouse as very few people (at least on here) have reported actually getting one at the lower price. I checked my local Currys, PCW, Comet , CPW and Staples this morning at 9.15 and all had sold their 3 in stock (strange that all had only 3 in stock) by the time I got to the stores. I also can't believe so many people have bought them at full price (over a few thousand if the stock levels at Insight and Misco etc. are to believed) expecting a refund, as if the retailer refuses the refund for whatever reason, they will still have to return the item and adding to the stock. HP must have several thousand sitting in warehouses just waiting for distribution....

There are ways but as I said, its not a discussion for here, thats a whole other discussion on a completely different website.

I think i've given up with this.

Been glued to my laptop screen 24/7 ever since i heard about it being reduced in the states to $99.

My only hope is the amazon order i've put in is fulfilled.

I guess it's back to the comping board for me to try and win one of these nice gadgets.
