I emailed Expansys, and got the following reply. I doubt they'll be able to fulfill orders.

Please note that the Touchpad has been put back as on preorder as we are currently out of stock.
We currently do not have any information as per the price.
If you already placed an order please note that the price will then be updated on your order.
If too much is charged, you would then have a refund of the difference
As soon as HP comes back to us, we will of course inform you via email

Hopefully Argos can make a decision soon. Looking at check and reserve availability reduce to no stock, it is clear that all reservations will not be collected until the price drops.

can someone please confirm you can ring comet and get the difference refunded without them just stopping your order. im too scared to ring lol

I can't actually find that piece of information on their website which is a bit worrying though, would feel more confident then. Even if price does not come down I can just say don't post out which will save the sending back hassle as well.

Just emailed Expansys and got this back:

" Hello,

for the moment we do not know the price as our suppliers don’t offer it at discount prices at least not at this time so your order is on hold till we will have the confirmation.

You card has not been charged but the money has been reserved according the value of the order.

we are in talks with suppliers right now but some far we got no reply or confirmation about this from them or HP directly if they will honour this rebate.

If this is confirmed, we will contact all backorders and let them know the new price and asked them to RE-confirm the orders before shipping them out. "

Spoke to staples a while back - I bought 3 32gb touch pads there last night at full price (predicting that I'd miss out this morning!), and they confirmed that they'll refund the difference down to £115. I'll believe it when it's back on my credit card though, because it was listed at £150 on their site earlier. Will post later one way or the other.

So does anyone know anywhere that DOES still have these in stock at the reduced price? Been trying to get one pretty much constantly for over 24 hours now!

No not yet. Was hoping for insight but that was a no go. Oh I hope that would be the case if they do reduce today

Was looking at the HP a couple of weeks ago before the riots - compared with the ipad. I'm not techy but they said you can't play flash on ipad..? I think thats whats pushing me towards HP oh and the price lol

Will be studying via blackboard so hoping to get one for that

errr, yes you can, use iSwifter or Skyfire, they both run flash. The iPad cannot run Flash without any third party software/browser but the TouchPad can't do things that the iPad can do without third party apps either.....but that's a whole other discussion.
