I have been unsuccesful at getting the touchpad too but would love a cheap pre3 so have manged to order on play and also carphone warehouse (at full price). Both are currently out of stock/pre-order but im hoping that once reductions kick in they will honour these orders, at worst can return unopened.
anyone else got an order on hold?

Not now they won't - they stopped responding more than an hour ago. Argos have been deeply unimpressive over all this, and still charging the high price.
You'd think they'd be capable of getting their act together by now. :mad:0 -
I'm not sure if this will help anyone but I managed to reserve one at PC World on Sunday for 'click and collect'. I went in yesterday and spoke to a member of staff to see if they would be happy to refund me the difference should the price drop in store (at this point the price drop was only online). Anyhow, they were very helpful and confirmed that if I bought it at the current selling price and the price drop hit the store during the next 21 days, they would happily refund and re-sell me the touchpad at the reduced price. I did as they said and anxiously returned today with my Touchpad and receipt in hand. I explained to the chap on the checkout and he said "no probs, we've been doing it all day!" and promptly sorted it out for me! Given PCWorld are part of Currys, I figure that anyone who has paid full price recently should be able to get their money back although I could of course be mistaken.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned further in the thread but I've not had a chance to read through it all in it's entirety and will be heading out shortly so wanted to let you guys know in case anyone was wondering. The store I visited was the PC World in Exeter and as I said, they couldn't have been more helpful. I was most impressed.0 -

Check your inbox, before you slag me off!! I actually judged it on how many thanks people had recieved and as you had none, i gave it to someone else who had helped a fellow mse'er! But as they didnt want it i sent it to you!!
I was only giving the reservation number to one person so it wasnt a race and it actually get used!! other one went to naski666 as they have helped other ppl on here!0 -
After trying all wkd, mon & tues to get 1, I'm just hoping on Argos coming through for me. Can't get one any other way. Ordered one to collect on Saturday but reservation runs out tomorrow. Hoping that I can extend it. Just sent email to customer services asking them when & are they going to reduce price & can I extend my time. Fingers crossed it comes through0

i dont understand why posters arent going down the Expansys route....they have already said they will give you a chance to cancel your order if you dont want it.....sounds the most reasonable Plan B to me0
